Al Porto

We had hoped to find a nice Italian restaurant, but sadly we didn't. It was far to expensive for the quality of food we received, and we have eaten in lots of Italian restaurants before.

The Food and service was excellent. On arrival we were not given a very good table one in front of a door that did not open and it was right up to the table. We asked to change to another table and they changed us straight away to a much better table.

Love the food the staff were knowledgeable about the menu and the actual restaurant was just a loverly place to be in it was our first time there and it won't be our last

Wonderful restaurant. We arrived an hour late due to travel issues and they couldn't have been more helpful. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was very good indeed. The restaurant is situated in an old warehouse and is very well appointed. Highly recommended and we will return on our next visit to Hull

Excellent food in a great setting in a restored warehouse overlooking Hull Marina. Despite being very busy, the quality of food and the service were excellent. Highly recommended.

Lovely atmosphere, beautiful well seasoned food. Good service, very nice wine, delicious dessert and liquor coffees. Good selection of specials. All four of us really enjoyed the evening.

Has recently. Even taken over. Not quite as good as previous visits. Staff very friendly and efficient though. Had long wait between courses but will go back again to give it another chances

Beautiful food, fast, efficient service. Lovely place with friendly staff. Great main menu choices although we chose from the fantastic specials board on this occasion. Lots of steps up to the restaurant so access wouldn't be easy for some people, however, I don't know if anything else is in place re access, might be worth asking. We WILL be going back really soon A***

superb meals service was the best we have had for a long time.the resturant is very lucky to have such a obliging young man, they should be proud of him.

As always we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the excellent atmosphere, the food was excellent the only small irritation was the 45 minute delay between first and second course, without anyone making contact with us, but we will certainly be back I believe we have a reservation in couple of weeks time, which we look forward to.

Superb meal, very attentive and friendly staff. Cannot fault Al Porto at all I had the Rib Eye steak and it melted in my mouth, this is my fourth visit and definitely not my last, thank you for a wonderful evening

The food was as good as it gets with service to match. This has to be one of the best places in Yorkshire; we'll be back.

Rather expensive. A few things not available on the rather small menu. The music was pleasurable , although loud. However, nice surroundings, and very good service.

Great service, great food, lovely setting, the £8 lunch deal is excellent value for money, I would highly recommend Al Porto either for lunch or dinner.

Good ambiance and staff. My friend and I had the monk fish from the special board. This was ok, the vegetables were very good although the pancake was a little 'heavy' . I had the tiramisu for dessert which I found too rich with cream and little sponge and no 'coffee' taste to the dish. . However, certainly visit again, as other food being served looked very good and one should not judge a restaurant on just one visit.

Lovely meal, very quick service (3 courses served and eaten within an hour) very tasty, just felt a little rushed for an evening out with family, and would of liked a little more veg. Table next to us really loud.

A gem of a place, we had a lovely evening. The food and staff were excellent, would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a restaurant that's not too quiet but not overly noisy. All place for all ages. * service was a little slow the night we went due to staff shortage on the day but those there made our evening. They even removed the price of starters from the bill

Food was very good though limited choice in desserts. Service was prompt although waited seemed a bit unsure at times. Atmosphere got better later as the place got busier. Will definitely be going again.

Nice location in an atmospheric building on the old dock area of Hull. We ate as a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed it. Good value.

Have used Al Porto several times before. This visit was as good as before: consistnelyngood food and consistently good service. Not expensive. Will be there again in the near future

First time we have been to this restaurant, but great Italian food, pleasant staff and good atmosphere mean will definately be looking to go back again.

i would definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends . The menu has a good selection I had the Al Porto salad from the lunch menu which was delicious and very reasonabled priced at £8 including a glass of wine

Very polite and helpful staff quick service. Nice and intimate. And reasonable priced with good food, would recommend and we willl be going again for food.

waiter was in a rush a little bit even restaurant was empty, music a bit lauder for that type of restaurant. I asked for home made pasta but I don't think they were home made.... Can not see the value for the money.

Good food and a nice atmosphere. Had a very enjoyable evening.

Good food and wine, welcoming and attentive staff at reasonable prices. The restaurant has two areas and our party of 8 was seated in the area used for larger parties, which is a good idea, especially for the other restaurant users. The only problem we found, was that the "stylish" lighting, which was VERY dim, made it difficult to read the menu.

From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel special. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was vibrant and happy. The menu was varied with many different specials to add to the choice. The food was unbelievably delicious and presentation excellent. All together a wonderful night, can't wait to return.

Brilliant restaurant! Service was exceptional and the food was awesome. We booked a for a lunch with friends from school. So glad we did! Fabulous afternoon.

A great meal with a really good selection of specials too all at a very reasonable price. Recommended and will be going back very soon.

Great food at top end prices but beer too expensive at £4.95 and there was no lift but good over all staff were welcoming and polite would go again

Delicious food, just had to clarify a drinks order due to waitress not paying attention. Good value for money, food off the specials board was excellent.

a thoroughly enjoyable experience, the food is amazing. The waiter was so helpful and cheerful. The steak dishes are so lean and the chocolate pudding is delish

Three different dishes ordered and all were cooked to perfection. Service was good with plenty of time to make choices and adequate time between courses

Nice atmosphere. Quick service (a little too quick actually) I had chicken in white wine and my husband had meatballs and both were nice. Would go again

I would put a very low rating as it was a disaster...but Al Porto have applogised...explained what happened and offered us a very impressive return meal. Things dont always go to plan but its a sign of a good business when they deal with things as good as Al Porto have done.

Great service and nice food. Really good atmosphere and the location provides great views across hull. Would definitely recommend it to other people and will be revisiting :)

A very enjoyable night had by all. The service was very good throughout the night. We all chose different meals and each one was cooked to our liking. Will certainly be making a further visit in the near future.

Won't be going back. Staff were in the main pleasant but the service was amateur (clearly due to lack of training) and the food ranged from acceptable to poor. Very disappointing experience.

Food was excellent, however the service was not as good as previous visit, seemed to lack the personal touch and also lack of experience in the staff.
