Although there were many restaurants to choose from for a pre theatre dinner, we returned to Assaggetti. We love the menu, which includes tapas style dishes and the choice of small or large servings. Food and service always good.

Whenever we are in the area, we always like to eat here. Great menu, friendly staff and good value for money. I would recommend it.

Superb food, great service and a lovely all round experience. We will certainly be returning again for a pre theatre meal. I could not fault anything!

Great service, great food and great location for Phantom of the Opera! Portion sizes were just right and extremely yummy. Defiantly will be visiting again.

Great Italian food and amazing staff, we use Assaggetti 2-3 times a week for business meetings an they have never failed to impress! Average price of a meal is around 15 pounds with a drink so also very affordable.

Excellent food in reasonable serving amounts. We had tasty bruschetta, the wild mushroom risotto and chicken parmesan, both delicious. Wonderful bottle of Orvieto. Great service.

Very dissappointing! Pina colada cocktail was probably the worst I have ever had clearly made with syrup as this was all you could taste. My wife ordered Penne Pasta very small portion.I ordered the steak tagleta allthough beautifully cooked there simply was not enough of it.The steak was served on a rocket leaf nothing else

Slow service despite not being that busy - surprised by the lack of urgency given they're directly opposite 2 theatres. They got the billing wrong and overcharged a pasta dish by more than £5 and we had to point it out to them. There are cheaper, better service and better quality Italian restaurants in London than this place

Half the food off the menu they had run out of and the portions were tiny for the amount we spent. Waiters and managers were friendly enough but not sure I would hurry back

Very nice place, we liked the decor and layout. Staff are friendly. The food was amazing, we had Aperol sprtizers for apertifs and they were just right too. The portion sizes are too small though, at least for men. Prices are very reasonable so go for at least two courses if you want a full meal. We will go back!

The service wasn't great - had to remind waiters of the right drinks order when only half the table were served. They were prompt in delivering food and clearing the table but it then took ages to pay. The restaurant was only about a third full throughout our visit. The food was ok - nothing special, I wouldn't rave about it but I wouldn't say it was bad either. Just average. I wouldn't rush to return.

The meal was fine although the fries were a bit processed, certainly the meal could have been improved here but it was OK. The Ladies toilet weren't quite up to spec so this should be looked into, there was a seat missing on one! Otherwise the staff were attentive and the service good although not more than twenty seated customers at 17.30

there was a great selection of food. I feel it was a little overpriced but in the location it is to be expected. we had Aperol spritzs and shared pizza and antipasti

Really well cooked calves liver and gnocchi; also enjoyed zucchini side dish. Service was good throughout. Wine good but a little pricey for what it was.

Had a wonderful pre-theatre meal. Food was delicious and great value. The restaurant was understaffed for the numbers and we had too wait too long to order - but once we explained we were off to the theatre they could not have been more charming or helpful. Would recommend before Theatre Royal Haymarket especially as so close.

Lovely food and ideal location opposite the Theatre Royal. Disappointed with the first cocktail ordered but this was quickly replaced with no fuss. I would go back. Average price £25 per person for two courses and drink.

Excellent service! Food was outstanding! We went before seeing phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre which is just across the street. They offer smaller "pre-theatre" entrées which were the perfect size! We would definitely recommend...

Great for pre-theatre meal. Very good food. Service friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. The only downside was the location of the table - in appeared to be squeezed in on the way to the kitchen, so half of my view was of the service area and kitchen.

Very good service but food was not good. Very salty and of canteen quality and not much choice for non pizza eaters. Also, the decor was not good esp. the art work downstairs.

We booked this restaurant as it was close to Her Majesty's Theatre. In fact it's just across the road. The food was very good, served quickly as we were going to the theatre. The staff were attentive, but not annoyingly so. The portions are large if you order main sizes but they do tapas sizes for most dishes, which are still generous.

A vibrant lively restaurant! Menu options good for pre-theatre eating. We all went for a pasta dish. Goats cheese Ravioli good. Ravioli with scampi very nice but was filled with salmon & the sauce was scampi flavoured! Portion size small for those with large appetites though!

Excellent food at good prices. Very handy for pre-theatre food. We had a range of mix and Mach small plates. Our favourite was the ravioli - great pasta well stuffed in a lovely sauce.

They forgot 2 items from our order. We had to remind them to bring the bread and we decided to go without the olives when they did not arrive at the beginning of the meal. we also thought the salad overpriced.

waiter was not very interested, took the order wrong and we had to wait for one dish while the other was getting cold. we had been there before and liked the informal atmosphere, but you cab be informal and still be alert on your guests.

Rather a long wait for our food - we were going to the theatre so worried about the time. Surely many people who use this restaurant must be in the same boat! Food was great and waiter very friendly.

Lovely atmosphere and extremely welcoming staff. Arrived early for our booking and we were seated straight away. Staff were very helpful in answering our questions about the menu. Food arrived fairly quickly and was nice and hot. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. Came here as was visiting the nearby theatre and would come here again if in the area.

Very friendly staff and lovely food. My husband was a little disappointed with the liquid that the mussels were cooked in and said as much to the waiter. We ended up with complimentary Limoncellos each to go with our coffee! Very convenient for the Haymarket theatre - literally opposite. Will happily visit again.

good food and excellent service. The booking appeared not to have registered but the staff quickly organised a table for 16. The entire party thought the food was excellent.
