Consistently good Sunday Roast - although maybe a little toppy in price for Drinks & Food. Reccomend the Roast Pork / Beef and Chicken - the Lamb Leg we found to be a little too fatty - you expect a degree of fattiness in good lamb but not to the degree it was. Always friendly staff - think it's the 7th Bacchus Sunday so far.

I was looking for a very good Sunday lunch for my wife and I (as it was our 2nd Anniversary) and stumbled upon a review of Bacchus Sunday's. The previous diners had said pretty good things so I have hoped that we would also be blessed with a good quality Sunday lunch. I could not have been happier. The Scotch Egg to start was a joy - salty, sausgae and mushroom meat wrapped around a still runny egg. Yum!! The roast Pork was the best I have eaten (outside of one other place in the West Country) - amazing slow cooked belly, with crunchy crackling, massive Yorkshire Puddings and a gravy so slick and smooth it could have sold me a second hand car!! The puddings were a joy - chocolate mousse and a salted caramel and choc cheesecake. All of this backed up by brilliant, friendly staff. You should all drop what you are doing and book for this coming sunday.

The food and atmosphere were terrific. I only gave a 5 because we had to ask several times for the wine we ordered. However this was taken from our bill.

It was OK but only OK, in fact that's possibly being kind. My friend said her food was cold, my nut roast was definitely not all that. Desserts were good though. Took a while before anyone served us, you know somewhere is under staffed when the chef comes out of the kitchen to serve the food. Overall I would say there are better places out there.

This was my first roast of the year and it was absolutely gorgeous! The roast beef was so tender it was truly delicious! I will definitely be coming back! The bloody Mary's were also amazing. The staff were really polite and friendly too! Thank you for a great meal!

Was happy to get a last minute booking for Sunday. The staff were nice however the roast was cold and dry. Certainly not as memorable as the old Bacchus pub roast. Appreciated it's a pop up but still…

incredibly good Sunday Roast - as always - 2nd time I've had the pleasure of being served by the Bacchus Staff. Can't really fault the food although they did run out of Cheesecake for desert so didn't get to finish the feast off with that. Only Negative as it's a pop up restaurant the surrounding tables are generally not cleared up in the speed as they should be - so you look around the room and a lot of chaotic tables when people have left and beers and plates and cutlery are still left out. Music could also improve the ambiance - it eventually came on via a DAB Radio towards the end of the meal but through out would be more consistent. However love the food and the staff are great so will be coming back.

Firstly, ignore what you see on the Bacchus Sundays website and via Google, the address is at the Lion & Lamb pub NOT Hoxton Street Studios (nobody will answer the bell there as I found out)! I had the Undecided which is a mixed plate of pork, beef, and chicken roast - great for a sample! It's a huge serving with 1/8 of a chicken breast + two big cubes of pork belly + big slice of beef. The pork was decent although the skin could have been more crackly but the chicken was dry and the beef was chewy so that was not good. The vegies were fabulous - beetroot, potatos, carrots, and cabbage and best of all, THE JUS/GRAVY WAS AMAZING! It had a tangy lemon flavour and although the meat was mediocre, I would come back just for this sauce. Service was lovely!

Mixed feelings - starter was ok, roast took a while to come but was very good, dessert wasn't great. Also confused with the bill as they promote as £20 for 2 courses or £25 for 3 yet it was all priced individually so therefore cost a bit more. Nice but wouldn't go again.

The food and wine were good, but it was very disorganised. It took quite a while for the food to come out, then not everyone got their starters together (one starter was actually forgotten) and the same thing happened with the mains. After waiting quite a long time, the same desert came out in different portion sizes around the table, although they did bring an extra portion out for those who has the smallest portions. It's good value for the food you get, but be prepared for a wait!

Food was very average- meat was dry and veggies undercooked. The venue was run down, furniture was plastic and cheap and the place had bad ventilation. On the plus side the service was great - our waitress was excellent, very accommodating for my partner's birthday (and cake).

One of the best roasts that I've had in London and really friendly service. Loved the venue and had that old pub feel. Would definitely go again.

Half our party had to eat from sofas below the table and the food took a very long time to come. The staff looked overwhelmed with the number of people and got a lot of orders confused. All the roasts that came where average in quality (a long way short of value at £16) except for the beef which was poor, undercooked (not the claimed 12 hours slow roast for sure) full of sinew and fat. If you want a good sunday roast find a nice local pub and avoid this place.

I was expecting wonderful things after reading the raving reviews about their Sunday Roasts. I understand they run out of roasts from time to time, so when we were told the pork roast belly was finished..we were disappointed. But moved on quickly to order the other roasts they had on offer - lamb, beef and turkey and the undecided (one of each). After waiting 45 minutes for the roasts, and watching the staff dancing to the music playing overhead and ignoring other tables nearby, our dinner was served. Cold..luke warm at best. As we bit into our chewy yorkshire puddings, I could not be more let down by an establishment that is meant to serve 'the best sunday roast in london'. Bollocks I say, definitely won't recommend and don't think I'll be rushing to try them again any time soon.

I have to say I was disappointed with my visit to Bacchus Sundays on 14.12.14. The website still describes the old location of 'New York loft style' when it has now moved around the corner into a pretty unattractive looking pub. That being said once you got used to that the venue was ok, it had a good buzz to the place. We ordered and then waited at least 50 minutes for the food to arrive (when prompted about this we were offered a round of drinks which was a nice gesture). But when the food arrived my friend who had chosen the beef actually had to sent it back because it was so tough it was inedible. The member of staff (the manager I think) explained that they had tried a different cut of beef and were 'trying to get the cooking time right, some of it was good and some of it was not'. I'm sorry but a place that does one type of food once a week shouldn't really be hoping for the best on actually getting the meat cooked properly! I had the nut roast which I thought was pretty bland and had a bit of a raw and sticky sort of consistency. There was 3 nice roasties, but only a small amount of cabbage and one chunk of carrot, which was underdone (I don't like veg soft but we ended up stabbing it with the fork and nibbling at it as you could not actually cut through it). The yorkshire was bready and heavy. I was so disappointed with the food after reading some great reviews of the place, maybe we were just out of luck and went on a bad day. I took a friend who was visiting who used to live in the UK and now lives back in Spain who was craving a roast dinner but I was embarrassed with what she ended up with. It wasn't worth the £16 being charged in the slightest and I won't be going back.

I was a bit disappointed with Bacchus Sundays when I visited with my boyfriend. The seating wasn't very comfortable and it felt really crowded with ear splitting music. The food was okay, but the main portion was quite mean - 1 slice of lamb, 2 tiny roast potatoes and 1 piece of beetroot doesn't seem worth the £16 price tag to me. In addition the carrot didn't seem to have been anywhere near a pan of boiling water. It's a shame because most of what was on the plate tasted good especially the yorkshire pudding. On the positive side the staff were friendly and attentive.

It was really only okay. Actually maybe a bit of a rip off for £15 for just a main. They had used the wrong kind of potatoes as roast potatoes, so when you cut into them the inside consistancy wasn't right and a bit soggy on the outside. The yorkshire puddings were overdone and when asked for another one it was the same. The crackling that came with the pork wasn't crisp - looked good but hadn't been cooked enough, so was just brown and fatty. There wasn't much veg, but because they stack the food up on the plate you don't realise till you take it apart that there isn't that much there! The staff were lovely, the nut roast, stuffing, crayfish and mushroom starters were okay but from the reviews and the fact they do this once a week, I thought it would be great.

We were in the back restaurant and it was very noisy- more like a school canteen. There was a long wait on food and my boyfriend got hardly any meat, we had to ask them for more! The roast potatoes weren't that nice. A bit disappointing especially as it's quite expensive - and the menu was pricier that the online menu. The waiter was really nice and did take some items off the bill because of the wait ( his idea too, we didn't ask him). Probably won't go again, to be honest.

Food just as good as it was when Bacchus was at the pub. Perfect roast dinner for a lazy sunday. Vegetarian roast particularly good. Shame about the temporary fold up chairs and tables. I understand that it's necessary given its a pop up but not the most comfortable.
