It’s a couple of years since I first went to Bacco and I’d forgotten how good it is. Exceptional Italian food and really excellent, friendly service. We went at lunchtime and were given a choice of nicely situated tables. The menu provides lots of choice and there’s an excellent wine list. Everything was well presented and tasty. I will certainly visit again.
Food had reasonable flavours in decent setting. I felt that the main course on the set menu was a rather diminutive portion. It seemed focus was on Christmas parties.
Although we really enjoyed the food the service was not good. A waiter managed to tip a cocktail drink all over my husband's shirt and trousers. At the restaurant we had to ask at least twice for the waitress to bring and then pour our wine. Disappointing as we had very good service last time we visited and I had chosen this venue for my husband's 50th birthday.
Great looking restaurant with attentive staff. Food was nice just a little too much. Too much fiddling with ingredients where the scallop risotto has pools of what looked / tasted of marie rose sauce? The portion sizes were too big (!) ginormous in fact which took away from the quality and delicacy of the food. Less is more -
