Staff extremely pleasant ,friendly and obligeing, roast lamb a bit tough. The starter, pate, was brilliant! Plenty of food overall on the main course, asked for more gravy which they brought. Very smart restaurant.

The restaurant is well laid out with plenty of space between tables and tastefully decorated. The food was top notch and portions were good sizes. The price was on a par with more expensive pub restaurants like Vintage Inns. Our only concern was that we were the only people there when we sat down to eat and only 3 others came in during the whole evening so the atmosphere was a bit lacking. The waitress did assure me though that usually they are much busier so maybe we picked a particularly quiet evening.

We took my mum for mother’s day, had a lovely meal in lovely surroundings. Service was great and it was even warm enough to sit out the back for a drink! My mom also received a lovely little potted plant which I thought was a lovely touch, will definitely be returning.

A little gem of a restaurant. We went there on Sunday for a roast dinner and it was delicious. Our waitresses were really attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was all fresh, piping hot and really, really lovely. We'll definitely be going here again.

Expecting better food and service. Typical frozen pub food you can get anywhere, not nice, disappointing. Only good point is location. Would not recommend, if you want quality try elsewhere

The food was nicely presented and piping hot. The senior citizens lunch menu I found much better with smaller portions. The restaurant is clean and the staff warm and friendly.

Having taken my mum and dad for a Sunday lunch which was by the way a Christmas present. I felt very let down with the whole meal. The dinner was warm and the dessert was just like having a dessert from a local supermarket. The restaurant was very cold no fire on in the bar and no candles on for the time of year. I won't be returning.

Unfortunately no heating on and it was chilly. Waitress didn't check the meal was ok. We had to find her to pay. Food was nothing special sadly. Won't rebook an evening meal but lunch has been good recently.

The restaurant is very well decorated, very clean & the staff I met were very polite & helpful, the only problem was that the staff were never easy to attract when one needed their attention! My partner & I soon discovered that the staff seem to congregate together in the bar area which is not what we would say "looking after the customers". The meal was okay but I personally was disappointed as I believe the chips & scampi were from a frozen source which I was not expecting as the restaurant was highly recommended to me.During the course of our stay we overheard other customers complaining about not being able to find a member of staff when needed.

Lovely surroundings and good value for money. Service was prompt and the meal was hot and tasty. Salad was a bit boring and had no dressing. Hubby loved his gammon and pineapple.

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. We were able to alter the meal choice, changing chips to a salad, and removing food items we didn't want. Nothing was too much trouble. We were a group of 6 family members who hadn't seen each other for a few years, we weren't ushered out follow our meal, we chatted in peace. Will be going back again soon.

The service was good but our food was warm not hot and the roast potatoes were oven roasties. We will try it again though as it wasn’t awful.

A Nice place, felt rushed with food, could tell the chips had been deep fat fried as they tasted of oil so couldn't eat them.

Well-presented restaurant in a small hotel conveniently located near the middle of Long Eaton. If you're visiting by car check the directions beforehand because the car park is accessible only via the adjacent one-way system. Due to the very limited number of other customers our lunch was rather quiet, although the 70s hits background music did its best to add some atmosphere. Service was very friendly, well-paced, and attentive but non-intrusive. Large portions of both starters and mains meant we had little room for desserts, something that the owners should perhaps review if it's a common occurrence, or maybe we just picked the right items from the fairly-extensive menu choice (all from a pre-printed menu though, noting that there were no daily specials). I wasn't altogether surprised that a lot of the food appeared to be relatively basically sourced (nearby superstore?), prepared and cooked, but presentation was good, and our salmon with asparagus was fresh, perfectly-cooked and very tasty. Starters were only let down by the cheap and slightly dry bread rolls, and the basic sliced white loaf used for the toast with the slightly-flavourless paté could be replaced by an artisan bread (e.g. olive loaf) to improve the dish significantly. A good choice of wines and other beverages, all reasonably priced, was welcomed. Overall I thought it was fair value for money, but nothing (bar the service) was exceptional.
