Excellent food, lovely atmosphere. A bit of a long wait for dishes to come out - but wonderful food and generous portions. Staff were excellent and very reassuring and accommodating of our party including a guest with severe allergies.

One of the reasons we visited was to enjoy the "big band" music, but that was spoiled because getting a seat in the upper room was difficult because of the lengthy time needed to have lunch. In future, we will find a seat upstairs first and order snack food.

Eaten here a few times over the last year or so but just wasn't that great last night as started with lager being flat a few times and Sausage and Mash no where near as good as it used to be!!

Not many places you go for a 2nd time and it exceeds the first! Came for food and drinks with a doggy last night for valentines. Absolutely fabulous- great food, great atmosphere and even better service. Thankyou!

Staff lovely. More choice with vegetarian/vegan food. Love the risotto though. A bit loud a large party in. More soft furnishings would help with noise.

The service was superb, and staff were extremely attentive. We had the veggie roast, and the wellington was probably the best I’ve had anywhere. Very impressed and will definitely go back.

Went for lunch on a Tuesday. Good attentive service from the guy that served us. A relaxed atmosphere and felt comfortable there. Food was OK. I had the chicken burger and thought the meat was a bit tough - needed to be more tender - so in retrospect I wouldn't order this again on a future visit.

The roast was perfection so tasty and plenty of it , gravy that was nice and thick and full of flavour , it was divine 🥰 The guy who served us was lovely and friendly very relaxed and also informative , i cannor fault any of it

When we arrived, we were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. We were recommended the weeks' specials and a few menu items which suggests that the menu changes seasonally. The food was exceptional (they had haggis which was amazing and the roast dinners we have heard about were great also). After we had finished our meal we weren't rushed out the door like some venues. Instead we stayed for another drink. We will be coming again!

The door in the restuarant going outside is banging very loudly so it's affecting your visit for a nice dinner out!

Excellent food and great service. The only suggestion is that I would like my food to arrive really hot as it can get cold quickly.

We paid £184 deposit and this was not accounted for in the final bill. On another note our main was inedible the fish was dangerously off. So we left. Overbooked and understaffed?

I have never eaten here before but have been to a venue here. Bibendum is near to where my mum lives and as she’s 83 I thought it’d be nice to book here for Christmas Day 2025. I really didn’t know what to expect, the food was fantastic! The portion sizes were very generous. All courses were delicious, a ham terrine and bread, the terrine was so fresh,chunky,hammy in a great way with some lovely veg in it too and some fresh warm bread. The celeriac soup was super tasty. We all had a turkey roast. It was also very generous and great for someone with a big appetite. Lots of lovey vegetables not overcooked. Cheese boards and an amazing orange sorbet. It was all really tasty,just a side note on the cheese board there was the pevensy blue cheese, it wasn’t too strong and was creamy.Now to the staff who where so lovely and friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us. It was really busy and loud but all the staff were happy at all times and happy to help. We will definitely come again. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

Great food & friendly staff, will definitely eat here again.

Food quality was poor. Had a chicken & leek pie with peas & mash. There was just way too much gravy and the food was totally overpowered by it; I couldn’t taste the pie other than the gravy. Peas were quite hard and mash potatoes was lumpy.

We had the 3-course Christmas lunch, and unfortunately the puddings (chocolate cheesecake and Christmas pudding) were disappointing

Whole evening with really great but it’s the staff that make it even more special

25 years since our last visit and it didn't disappoint! Very welcoming reception and superb starters, followed by two perfect main courses. Wonderful to see our old neighbour clearly going from strength to strength. Has to be one of the best, if not the best, restaurant in Eastbourne. Thank you.

Great Sunday lunch, fresh vegetables and enormous Yorkshire puddings. Can recommend the cheesecake and tiramisu. Staff were delightful and efficient. The surroundings were a little tired and in need of an up date. Would definitely recommend 😊

Friendly staff, excellent service, good sized food portions. If I had to make any criticism the potatoes could have had a bit of crunch and disappointed that we were charged 50p for extra gravy but all in all a lovely meal.
