Food was great as always, however we had a table booked in the snug area but were placed in the restaurant area which was extremely noisy.

Great location. Good service, quality of food and all for a reasonable price. I would visit the bird in hand again and would recommend it to friends.

Our first time here. The food was lovely and filling, reasonable prices and excellent service. We would reccomend this restaurant and would go again .

Always a great meal with great service. The potato rosti with the duck was a tad bland but the fillet steak was amazing! Nice and relaxed on a Sunday evening!

My mum us mostly deaf. I asked for a table near a wall to allow her to be able to hear. the staff were understanding and very considerate

Very good food and service - waiting staff very attentive and knowledgeable- only minor issue waited just a tad too long to pay the bill.

Sunday lunch on 6th August. Very poor service and food. Disappointed as previous visits have been much better. We were offered a discount on our bill but that's not really the point.

We come here regularly for Sunday lunch and the food was as good as usual and the service very friendly. We will certainly be back again.

there is great food. its a great pub. the raspberry creme brulee was amazing. staff are friendly and polite as usual. we had American friends with us who want to go again before they leave

Good atmosphere. Pleasant staff. Good yet limited menu which enabled the kitchen to focus on the quality of the food they produced. Good range of drinks (cocktails, wine and beers). Will return at some point.

The Bird in Hand at Lovedean is a beautiful pub tucked away in a quiet location. The food is always excellent and the staff are all very attentive and friendly. We would definitely recommend this pub :-)

Went for Sunday roast for my mum's birthday, very disappointing meal. My roast beef was so chewy and stringy I just couldn't eat it. Roast potatoes grey and not crispy, had clearly been reheated. Cauliflower and broccoli were so hard you couldn't cut them. Very strange way of serving the meal, it was in a bowl type plate, meat draped over the potatoes and the whole thing swimming in about half an inch of gravy so even if the potatoes had been crispy they wouldn't have been by the time we got to eat them. Also it wasn't very hot. Our waiter was lovely but the service seemed very slow, we arrived just before 1.00 pm but I don't think we were eating until about 1.45 pm. We have been here several times for lunch during the week recently and had a very enjoyable meal but on today's performance we definitely won't be going for Sunday lunch again. Extremely disappointing all round.

Excellent food and service on a very busy night. The bar was a little slow when we first arrived but not a big deal as it was quite full.

Two sittings Friday,Saturday and Sunday evenings so busy but the food and service excellent. Took some American friends they were overwhelmed. We go as often as possible.

Really good atmosphere; service and food pretty good. Our bill for 5 was around £180 but we all had 3 courses with wine and other drinks so expected it to be on the high side.

Very attentive staff and lovely surroundings. Sunday roasts all superb but potatoes were a bit leathery. The newly designed seating area is pleasant with an interesting gin menu.

Lovely food and great service. Really good selection of gins, served in a good sized goblet with plenty of ice and good quality tonic.The Sunday menu was brilliant and included a veggie option. The desserts are amazing, top marks thank you

Went with friends for a meal for my 60th birthday. Staff very extremely friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Will definitely be going back and would recommend them to anyone.

Had a lovely meal, but it was just too much. I wish they offered a smaller portion for people with smaller appetite. Hate wasting food. Friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be going there again.

Food was good generally. Would've expected the fillet to be of better quality which looking back we should've sent it back. Didn't appreciate being charged for tap water which we specifically asked for.

Service was attentive but not over the top. Menu choice was superb, making it hard to decide on a dish. When the food arrived it was faultless. Highly recommend

Lovely Sunday roast platter with plenty of meat and veg. A couple of small criticisms: the table could have been wiped in between our main and dessert as there was food on it and we had table service. Also the cauliflower cheese was a little hard and the cheese sauce had been poured over rather than the cauliflower cooked in it. Nothing major though.

Very nice pub/restaurant with a great atmosphere. There is plenty to choose from on the menu but could do with a another 1 or 2 veggie options. The food is very tasty and excellent value. I will definitely be returning.

Excellent service from friendly staff and with a menu of exceptional variety to suit all tastes and good value. Overall to be recommended. Easy parking as well.

Very enjoyable evening, staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. Will be visiting again soon for Sunday roast which I've heard is really good.

There isn't anything I can criticise. The service was good and every need catered for. Even when I said I would rather my starter without dressing it was not a problem, the waitress took it away and a new starter was bought out. Thanks for a great evening we will be back.

2 full breakfasts were excellent. 2 eggs benedict disappointing. They forgot our water. Coffees and hot chocolate were very nice. Food overall not overpriced in our opinion. Would return but make different choices.

Excellent food as always, staff friendly and attentive. Only grumble was that we had booked a seat online in the restaurant but were seated in the bar area. Overall Very Good and would certainly return.

A nice meal in pleasant surroundings. Staff are very attentive. Although it is a busy restaurant you do not feel rushed and are given time to relax.

Lamb was tough complained and offered a steak knife, not really the answer! We had a table for two but could not hear each other in the restaurant, however I have been here for lunch b4 and it was great, I just wouldn't go back if an evening!

Great food, lovely atmosphere. My first visit but it won't be my last. The menu was varied and catered for all tastes. The service was efficient and importantly not rushed. A super evening with a quality meal.

Excellent quality food. Menu is not that exotic but it was all very well cooked. Often deserts let restaurants down but the creme brulee was fabulous. The staff were efficient but also friendly.

Our superb waitress looked after us and our dog extremely well. Food was lovely but came away very full! Thank you and see you soon.
