The food was excellent and so was the wine. And the service and atmosphere was brilliant. We had a really enjoyable night. Definitely recommend to anyone.

Lovely roast spuds - and fab Yorkshire pud, meat, the lamb nice but a bit stringy, beef a bit too pink, but partner ate it all, would go again, it was my second time, but first roast, thanks

Excellent food and our waitress, Beth, was faultless. Good atmosphere and even though it was fairly busy, it wasn't too loud and you could still have a conversation.

Despite requesting to sit in the bar area when I booked, we were seated in the restaurant area when we arrived. However we could not fault the service, drinks and food. Everything was brilliant. We are regulars here and feel that service and food has improved since our last visit. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Staff very helpful and welcoming. Menu and specials uninspiring. Burger and chips good but bun was dense and practically inedible and was left. Pricey and disappointing meal. Perhaps better menu during the day?

Lovely pub and delicious food. Staff friendly and attentive. Couldn't see the Sunday menu online and even at the restaurant it wasn't clear what came with the roast. Would come back and recommend.

We had a lovely time, as four women chatting do - but we had to move tables as our oringial one was near the door and we were cold. Once moved, we felt more comfortable and ordered breakfast. Teapots would have been more effective way of serving tea, rather than a tea bag and a cup of hot water, we had to order 7 cups because of it - clearly a way to make you spend more. Breakfast was ok, three of us had the same and one ordered something off menu. Even with buy one get one free the bill seemed pricey because of all the cups of tea we had to order!

The restaurant was very busy, but considering we had booked a table we had to wait a bit too long to be served. However, the food was worth waiting for and the service improved

Excellent food, choice, and service. Which is why we return, again and again. It's not that far out in the country. And very rarely have noisy kids in there. Bonus

Been to the bird in hand 4 or 5 times and and every time food and service have been excellent, last night they were very busy,so we were sat more in the bar area, and the food did not really reach the standards they have set themselves, not bad but not as good as there normal.

Food was very good and yummy however the service was very slow. Took ages to order our food and then had to ask for the bill twice. Thought it would be faster for a mid week lunch booking.

Lovely atmosphere, well cooked and presented food. Staff polite and helpful. Good value for money although I personally found portions on large side. The gin drinker enjoyed the extensive Gin Menu!

Lovely old pub, meal was ok but maybe not as good as I expected. Chips were a little tasteless and dry, ham didn't really have a lot of flavour. Would be great if you could get a smaller version for us people with smaller appetites. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Really loved eating at TBIH last week. However I do have some observations & criticisms. I have to say the Moroccan Lamb pie was one of the best pies I've ever had it was absolutely delicious but there wasn't enough mash or gravy and I'd rather pay a slightly higher price for a meal to include vegetables. I didn't like the fact we had some vegetables & fries that added £6 to my meal. However, I was really disappointed with my starter - pigeon. It wasn't cheap for 2 small slices of pigeon breast, that I'd also expected to be hot. So when they arrived cold it wasn't a great experience. Overall didn't rate this starter. I absolutely loved the selection of different gins available and the way they were presented - first class. The service was nothing short of excellent and there seemed like plenty of staff on hand to assist at a moments notice. I would want to go all the time but the cost overall is what would keep me back so it was and will be a well earned treat to eat at TBIH. Loved it. (Please add vegetables to main meals it'll mean I will visit more frequently)

Very happy with both food and service. Great for a family get together. Plenty of parking at 12 but might have been difficult at 2pm. (Bank holiday Monday)
