It was my wife's birthday, but clearly there was also a large (noisy) birthday party. Much better two years ago, for our 25th anniversary - but we have happy memories of the Blackbird, and we are local.

Everything was really good and we will be back However I did have the parma ham and melon starter that seemed to be minus the Parma ham? The waiting staff didn't have a clue why ? The head waiter ? ...offered us a refund which was really nice . All in all nice afternoon, good food and pleasent staff . thanks Cath

My first visit and certainly not my last. Food excellent, service and staff extremely efficient and helpful. Being a Sunday and very busy this did not impinge on service or waiting time. Very easy to book on line.

There were a few choices of meat for the Sunday lunch. It was good value. When it arrived, it was presented really well. The veg were served in sharing dishes & there was a good variety. Condiments were offered and delivered quickly. The staff are well trained and attentive. We didn't have pud as we were full. Highly recommended.

Loved it, we will definitely go back. From start to finish it was a great experience. Food was fantastic and we all really enjoyed it. Waiting staff were friendly and quick. The Tunnel room was lovely too. We enjoyed it that much we then went into the bar for a drink that was also very good. The food was well worth the price and if you haven't been before, you should go.

Been a few times, always really good. Most of the food was great but the Lamb rump we ordered was very tough. Shame, everything else was great. Nice atmosphere and staff very attentive and helpful.

Visited for lunch today, fantastic meal, food and service were first class. Dining area was lovely and staff were very accommodating to our young grandchildren. I couldn’t fault it and we will definitely be back

Good was fabulous - lamb rump , steak and ale pie were first rate. Followed by an excellent Bakewell tart for dessert. All made for a perfect birthday celebration meal. Service excellent and dog friendly arrangements were much appreciated. Definitely worth a return visit. Many thanks

Really relaxing evening which was only marred by the delay in bringing our starter (40 mins wait) and no-one letting us know chef had had an accident with it!! I thought that as a gesture of goodwill, it would have been taken off our bill at the end of the meal, but not on this occasion. Otherwise, food was delicious and service pretty good. A smile would have been appreciated and why The Blackbird doesn't pour the wine for its customers any more, I don't know. Minor issues, but which make a big difference. We will return, but it would be great if notice could be taken of my comments, as we've been customers for many years. Many thanks!
