Service was hit and miss, the food (as in vegetables and meat) was luke warm, one of the cheese fondues was cold as the heater underneath had run out and the waiter hadn’t noticed. It took me to ask for another pan of cheese rather than him attempting to rectify it. The meat fondue was very poor value with hardly any meat-the plate was three quarters full of bread and vegetables. I have had fondue many times and this was the worst I’ve ever had. The decor in the restaurant was lovely.

Great food and huge selection of drinks. The service could be a little faster, since it wasn't really busy.

Tasty food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Fun night out. My husbands chocolate-orange cheesecake was to die for. Would definitely go again! Fantastic selection of Belgian lagers too.

Excellent food, friendly service just a little low on atmosphere due to it being early on a quiet Monday night. Hoping that when we go again, on a Friday this time, it will be busier.

This experience did not live up to my expectations. We ordered the chicken fondue for two persons. The Yorkshire pud waffles were burnt, we were given a replacement portion which were soggy and not crisp. The mushrooms were ok, the gravy tasted like bisto no real flavour very bland. The veg was undercooked and the potatoes were new potatoes roasted rather than normal potatoes and were quite dry. The chicken was over cooked and dry and the portion size was barely enough for one let alone two. There was no apology we just did not end up paying for the meal. It’s not worth the trip into Manchester for. We ended up making do with a takeaway. Disappointed doesn’t cut it.

Staff very friendly and attentive, place has a nice ambience. Cocktails lovely. Disappointed with food. Chose Pizza Fondue, which looks great on paper: all the things you'd get on pizza toppings - ham, pepperoni, chorizo, spicy sausage, beef, meatballs, pineapple, jalapenos - to dip into a cheesy fondue. Problem was that four of those things are so spicy it's hard to get to the flavour of the fondue. Also, the large chunks of chorizo were too dense and chewy to swallow. The equally large cubes of cold ham looked unappealing and the strips of dry pizza base were, well, as dry as they sound. The fondue itself had a nice flavour but wasn't quite thick enough to fully coat the food. Avoid the Lemon & Vanilla mousse dessert. Unappealingly presented in a school canteen glass tumbler, it had a strange hard crust like a brulee, just under which was the merest trace of lemon curd followed by four inches of something that had separated and tasted of nothing at all.

Good atmosphere and food. Waiting staff explained they were short staffed and there was a longer wait at times for service. Also, music in restaurant area was a little quiet.

Delicious food with great atmosphere & friendly staff. We had the vegan fondue, roasted tofu, veggie balls as big as tennis balls, mushrooms, sprouts, beans, carrots, parsnips, roast potatoes, herb bread & a very tasty vegan cheese fondue. This is this the 3rd time we have been in as many weeks. Great food & great value.

My first time at Bock Bier, unfortunately the dining room was abit too cold and we had the roast fondue but some of the vegetables was hard & burnt. The 8 hour beef was stringy & the chicken was slightly over cooked. The staff was lovely & the cafe had a good quirky atmosphere.

I have been here a few time but this visit was awful, the meat was beautiful but the whole meal was cold so asked if we could have it reheated, they told us the would replace it for us, it came and it was terrible, the meat was rough, full of fat and gristle, sad to say we left hungry, I was so disappointed and unfortunately had made me not want to return, the staff were very polite and apologised but still didn't change the experience, absolutely gutted because I loved this place
