Don’t allow customers to book for a certain time via your site then when they turn up at the allotted time explain you are closed. Utterly shambolic!

Great food and amazing staff! What more would you want? Staff were very friendly and helpful and is probably the best Chinese food in Edinburgh by far!

Really disappointed that they have done away with the unique conveyor belt system and reverted to the same set up as any other buffet. Some of the best dishes were no longer available and what was on offer was starting to congeal due to it being so quiet. The conveyor belt system was the biggest selling point due to not having to leave the table or interrupt your conversation. The smaller portions also meant fresher dishes. The pizza on offer was clearly a cheap variety from Asda next door. All in all bitterly disappointing and sad to say we won’t be back. Although a return to the previous format and we’ll be the first ones in line.

Tasty food served in a unique way. Very sociable experience. Friendly staff. Very reasonable price for good quality food. Desserts are limited and not as good quality and heating within restaurant could be warmer.

Food is terrible. They no longer have the food on conveyer belts but they do not say this on their website. Also says they have Thai food too but it is just chinese. Some of the food makes you feel sick and my partner and I both had very sore stomachs afterwards.

Very disappointing. The removal of the conveyor belt is a big mistake. The restaurant is now just like any other buffet except that the standard of food has dropped considerably. There are two people cooking certain items to order but the best you could say about the rest of the food is that it was ordinary, nothing special. There was also less choice than before.

Food is great. The environment is fine. Drinks are quite expensive. It would be better if they could replace the seats to a taller one.

The restaurant wasn’t even open for our visit. It was under renovation and we drove 20 miles to get there and weren’t warned before we went!

Great atmosphere, brilliant food, attentive and excellent staff all in all a great experience. 10 people there for my wife's birthday and everyone enjoyed it very happy indeed.

Great variety of foods, nice service, recommended! We will return! On the negative, only cash is accepted, this could be improved. Apart from this, excellent!

8 of us arrived at 5pm for an early meal as we had children with us. The food was lukewarm and we were offered a cooked dish from the kitchen, this was fine but not really the point of a buffet. By the time it was cooked and we were served it was after 6pm and the dishes on the buffet were just beginning to be edible. We did take a few dishes from the buffet which were very nice but the experience has put me off China Red. Wont be back.

Certain products not on wheel and had to ask for them as explained and did arrive fresh but button to call staff not working. Don't take credit card either. Good value for money

A few in our party weren't entirely convinced about buffet-style Asian food but ended up all being pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Great service and really enjoyed the conveyor belt-buffet experience.

Overall food was tasty and staff prompt and polite. Only fault was our seat was right on a corner so couldn’t see what food was coming up until it was nearly past.

First visit to china red last night will definitely not be my last ! Pleasant helpful staff, and food excellent, loved the conveyor belt system for your food

Food always warm and plenty of it. Never seems to fail us! Only one thing some dishes are a bit bland and could be doing with a bit more flavour but overall lovely!

Nice variety of foods. Chocolate fountain and ice cream a big hit with the children (young and old!). Staff very efficient and polite. Can highly recommend a visit.

Good food and service. Would recommend this place and also reasonable price as well. Easy to park and the staff are also very friendly to.

The food was net hot coming off the conveyor with not a lot of dishes being offered. Told the waiter about this when we had to specificaly order fried rice for the table, he appeared un interested.

Tasty food and good value - eat as much as you want and a chance to try lots of different dishes. Bottomless fizzy juice is also great.

Loitering staff who watch you while you eat. Food gave us very bad stomachs. Won't be back again. Website made it look better than it actually is.

Enjoyed this family meal immensely. Grand-daughter chose here, purely for the marshmallows and chocolate fountain! Just one criticism. Crispy Chilli Beef (and chicken) would be better described as 'soggy chilli beef'

A lot of variation of food, good and friendly stuff and nice modern atmosphere inside to restaurant. Food is grease and tasty. Price is good

Great welcome turned up early got taking to table straight away made comfortable and drinks order brought to us at table even thou it was self service choice n food watch excellent as was desserts thanks again for nice day

The food was lovely and the service extremely good. This was a birthday dinner for my partner and we all enjoyed the experience. Much better than standard buffet restaurants we loved the little dishes and the choice was amazing.

Table booked for 7 but had to sit and wait quite some time before we actually got seated. Food good with plenty of choice and always hot.

Nice food Kids loved the conveyor belt and the variety of food. Choice of soft drinks could be improved. I would recommend to friends and family.

Excellent food couldn't fault! But customer service wasn't great. Booked a table for 2pm then told at 3pm service was finished and was handed the bill. Wasn't anywhere near finishing food. Would have booked the table earlier of I was told that service was finished at 3pm

We have been a few times and although the place looked grubby previously it was nothing compared to this visit. We fooled a table for 12pm the time it opened for the day. The carousel doors were disgusting they hadnt been cleaned. I could understand at the end of the day but first thing. Absolutely disgusting we really should have got up and left. This place needs a good clean. Maybe the health inspector needs to have a visit as if it's like that on the outside what's the kitchens like. We will not be back.

Was a very pleasant experience staff were really friendly would reco.end this experience to all . We went with our 10 year old son and he really enjoyed trying all the different dishes

A large selection of food and desserts looked lovely. Only some were scrubbed with other smells 😑.good restaurants very modern restaurants😊 I back next time with my kids

Loved our visit. Lots of choice. Food nice and hot and service great. Will definitely recommend. Brought 2 friends along who've never been before and they loved it too, especially being able to try lots of different dishes..

Really enjoyable location and food with helpful staff and easy parking, especially with events taking place in neighbouring establishments. My daughter always enjoys using the conveyor belts and picking what she wants to eat, especially the sweet potato roasties and most of the sea food dishes.

Delayed being seated for our booked table however the manager surprised my son with a birthday cake which was a lovely touch, food and service excellent, will definitely be back.

Good food, plenty of choice but a bit noisy otherwise would recommend as being something different. Try a little portion of food you would not usually pick.

The supply of food wasn't quite as plentiful as usual, with a few gaps on the conveyor belt. The menu options also felt a bit too repetitive. Were allowed to sit for as long as we liked however, unlike my last visit on a sat night when we felt pressured to leave almost as soon as we'd stopped eating.

Arrived at 6:30 for our reservation. There hadn't been a table left for us and the place was full. We were asked to take a seat while they sorted something. After 5mins we were lead to the best table in the house table 1 right at the start of the moving belt. We had the first pick of the fresh food and it was all lovely and hot with lots of choice. We will definitely be back.
