Excellent food - onion soup and the calamari were super tasty - fillet steak was deliciously tender - though the chocolate mousse was not quite as 'dark' as suggested, but was still OK. Service was friendly.
Lovely atmosphere, very attentive service, excellent food and lovely surroundings with view of the Barnes pond area. Will certainly be eating there again. Many thanks.
Steak like a piece of old leather and cold and came far too quickly (are they cooked in advance?) - didn’t want to make a fuss as I was taking someone to lunch. Also they completely lost interest once we’d eaten, and impossible to get their attention so had to go up to the counter to pay. Won’t be returning, especially as this is the second bad meal I’ve had at Cote.
We are big fans of Cote but we felt that the relatively new Barnes restaurant was not quite up to the usual Cote standard. We all had the set lunch. The steak was overcooked and not pink. The chicken was disappointing - rather lacking in flavour. The rest of the food was fine. The service was quite slow (this was after 2.00 pm) and not as efficient as usual - glasses left on the table etc. We hope to see some improvement on our next visit as the location and ambience of the restaurant are great.
A good meal and excellent friendly service. It could be noisy as there is little to absorb noise. We enjoyed the experience and will certainly go again
No attention after being seated. Too long waiting for initial drink. Booking online needs to be reviewed; I tried booking initially for 6.30pm which is early by conventional retaurant standards, but told nothing available, so adjusted to 6.45pm. When I arrived at 6.30 the restaurant was virtually empty.....?! I like Cote and the food was fine.......but it still seems amatuerish and the arrangement for booking not suitable.
Food good reasonable price, staff very attentive happy tochat . Menu extensive with plenty of price range to choose from Lovely ambience plenty of space between tables
Food served hot. The Escalope of Veal was crispy and the Breton chicken moist and tasty too. Staff efficient and cheery. Clean toilets. Would recommend.
We had a birthday lunch party for my 95 year old mother and we were very pleased with the table with all round view of the common, tucked into an alcove. The service and food were excellent, including the chef’s happy birthday individual dessert served with song & candles!
Very good food and pleasant attentive and helpful service. Lovely environment on Barnes pond. Altogether a very good experience. The restaurant is so popular it gets noisy at times but that can’t be helped.

This is a lovely venue and we had excellent food and service. There was only one small downside and that was that we were in the conservatory section and, because there were people eating outside on a fairly breezy evening, the doors were often left open and left us a little chilly at our table.
I usually go to Richmond Cote but have had two dodgy evenings there this year so thought I would try Barnes. It was wonderful and much nicer than Richmond. I did tell them it was my birthday and they came at the end of the meal with a lovely Chocolate pud and ice cream with a candle on it ! Super!! And all four of us enjoyed the food. A big Thank You.
Service was very friendly. Food was very good. Lovely atmosphere and perfect for a family dinner out. The service was a bit patchy here and there but more than compensated by the friendly waiters.
Super waiter. Efficient service. Only prob is noise but that is because of the barn- like space . That’s the only thing that puts us off Cotes in general.
Cotes was an oasis this morning, peaceful, lovely atmosphere and a great table over looking the park. The waiting staff were helpful, courteous and cheerful. The food was excellent. This is my new go to breakfast restaurant in Barnes.
Friendly staff, reliably good food, our favourite pond-side setting - all we need for a happy family evening supper. We’re very glad Côté came to Barnes.
The location & ambience was good. Service OK. Pink battered steak was not really pink, overcooked as thin. Very limp cress with grilled haddock. This was replaced when requested. Iced fruit disappointing & white chocolate sauce very poor. However Crème Brule excellent.
Great service, good food, lovely space. Came for a birthday with larger group and the staff were very attentive and personable. Catered to our needs without hesitation.
We enjoy the time at Cote in Barnes tonight when we were dinner tonight. And very good service as well. The food was good as well
Oh dear. Despite charming Maitre D there are clearly a lot of teething problems that need ironing out. Service ludicrously slow. Eventually when the steaks eventually all of them had been cooked wrongly so the boys medium rare sirloins were well done and the husbands well done rib eye was rare. They took his away and it took 40 mins to reappear along with the missing side order of peas by which time everyone else had finished. Maitre was terribly and sweetly apologetic and gave us a huge discount on bill-clearly not his fault but he was very let down by the rest of his staff. Such a shame as have never had a problem in any other Cote
Unfortunately this was not a successful birthday dinner celebration. Despite the manager's and the waitress' best efforts and impeccable manners, the kitchen delivered starters out of sequence and a steak that could not be cut into or even eaten. The restaurant did offer a discount on the bill as a gesture of good will, which was appreciated. Worth another visit, perhaps...
Food arrived quickly and was delicious. The Maitre d' made us feel awkward and was slow to attend to us. However, we had a fabulous waitress towards the end of the meal.
I'd booked ahead and we were greeted and seated right away. We then waited a full 15 minutes and not one waiter even acknowledged us. My husband complained to the manager and then things started to move, he took our order himself. He explained they were a staff member down, but even so to not even be given some water and a nod to say they were busy and would be right with us, this is basic stuff! After complaining it felt like everyone was then coming to check how we were. The food, as always, was good we had steak, chicken and roast pork. Cote is a huge favourite with us as a family and we eat often at the various branches. Barnes is relatively new, but I really expect much, much more from the service. I don't care if you're busy or short staffed, you take a minute to say hello to your table and let them know you're aware and will be with them soon. The manager did apologise and gave us a discount off them bill redeeming the initial bad impression.
A very attractive setting. The restaurant overlooks Barnes pond and has some outside tables. Service excellent. Food below par. Manager extremely helpful and we will go again.
Good choice of food. Great attentive service and a pleasant environment. A most enjoyable evening meal. There is a wide choice of food all freshly cooked.
They weren't too much helpfull for my birthday, they said they will prepare something for my birthday but they didn't, anyway the food was good quality
My party and I were made to feel most welcome, food was great as were the drinks!! nothing was to much for our waitress Zelda, Thanks Zelda
Nice welcome from member of staff who had previously worked at Sloane Square branch, great asset to Barnes Cote. Muscadet wine nicely chilled and good value. Calamari starter , good taste and quality. Breton chicken slightly dry ,fries crisp and hot as they should be. Great setting overlooking the pond, will definitely return.
Cote Barnes has lovely staff who give a great Service and the excellent location and value for money make it a lovely experience eating there
The only thing I didn't like was having to book via a machine. The phone machine wouldn't accept my landline number so I went online, the machine there was more accommodating but I would still have preferred a person. The meal itself was very good, as was the service, and the Brasseries was a pleasant place to be on a very hot day. There was a good and varied choice of dishes drinks and coffee.
We had a nice welcome but a real problem with one of my guest's main courses. It was greatly overcooked and a replacement was offered which took so long to come that we had finished eating by the time the dish was served again. A discount was made to my bill but that really was not the problem. After that, our plates remained on the table for a long time after we had finished - I had to ask for them to be cleared away. Nice spacious restaurant and helpful staff. May give it another try in the future.
This is a good, new branch of Côte in a fabulous location, overlooking Barnes pond. This site has been occupied by several less-than-god restaurants in recent years, and we're all delighted that Côte has arrived!
Really good food, quite expensive but nice atmosphere and great service. The only thing is the portion sizes for certain meals seemed a bit unfair and the creme brûlée was cold but very tasty.
The service was very good & so fast, the menu is extensive providing such a wide variety of choice. There was plenty of space between tables & no loud piped music!! A most enjoyable evening.
3 ladies, all had different dishes, thus 6, all superb, every plate cleanly finished, good atmosphere, this restaurant is newly opened and in a great situation
Excellent service. Good food and value for money. I I I I. I. I. I. I I I I I I I I I i
Visited Cote Barnes in August 2018. We received a warm welcome and throughout the service was excellent! My companion and I both enjoyed the calamari as a starter. For mains, she had seafood linguine and I had the pork. All of the food met the standards we expect from Cote. The seating arrangements and ambience were good. The highlight of the experience was the service: professional, relaxed, friendly and helpful.
Great food and great service. I particularly enjoyed the duck. The meal is prepared on site so don't go if you are in a hurry.
Great food and good service. We had a table overlooking the pond and everything was looking like lovely. We went with friends and would definitely return.
Very good. I found it a little noisy with sound vibrating but my companion did not. However very much enjoyed the meal. Only slight hiccup waitress forgot to bring the mustard.
Great location next to the village pond. Very friendly and efficient staff. Welcomed by the manager and shown to our table. Our reserved table ready for us on time. The menu has a fantastic choice of dishes for everyone. We have visited several Cotes in London and the high quality of delicious food is consistent throughout. Barnes is no exception to that and is a welcome addition to Barnes village.
Good food, well cooked, very attentive service. Very busy Saturday evening but food still came at a reasonable pace. Reasonably priced. Good atmosphere & family friendly. Will be going back soon.
Started off well. Lovely girl looking after us. Went down hill the busier it became.Really noisy restaurant. Positive side nice food & wine. Will think about returning. Plan a less popular time I think.
5 --- Very very nice, great food, lovely service, great value, as all Cote are, BUT, a very very [very] noisy interior, which made it difficult
Friendly service of really well cooked food off a reliable menu, sensible wine list, excellent location and even nicer to sit on the terrace - we’ll fone
New addition to the Cote family in a nice position with a light and airy room. Air conditioning effecting in the hot spell. Food up to usual standard
A good local restaurant. Staff friendly and food tasty. This Cote is a welcome addition to Barnes. They have a reasonable menu choice throughout the day.
Delicious food - I had the calamari followed by roast pork belly - great flavours. Good value for money. Well priced set menu. Friendly and efficient staff.
Good food, lovely location and ambience. Service was a little slow but the waiter acknowledged it and apologised. I will definitely return soon and would recommend this branch of Côte’s consistently good chain.
Great meal at Cote Barnes tonight. We had the fixed price menu. Service was excellent and all food was really good. Great atmosphere, highly recommended.
