It's great to be back out and about again after lockdown 2 and to celebrate, we booked at our go-to restaurant. We weren't disappointed - the service was pleasant and welcoming, the food was delicious and all round great value.

Cote Barnes has the most wonderful, friendly and efficient staff.

The service was as ever impeccable - friendly and kind. The food was generally good and my wife enjoyed her squid starter and chicken main. However, I was a bit disappointed with my crab starter which at £8.95 was overpriced. The crab was delicious but two bits of under toasted bread with no butter were not good and made the dish look a bit stingy. Part of the steak in my steak frites was difficult to cut and was tough and chewy so I left it and when the waitress asked if all was ok I mentioned it. I think it should have been tenderized a little more when bashed for thinness. I hope my comments are useful. Regards, Peter

My mother and I had an excellent experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They reserved our favourite table by the window. The restaurant is very well spaced according to Covid rules. And as always the food was delicious and the set menu was excellent value.

We had a great experience, everything from booking through to good bye. Because of restrictions my son couldn’t have a birthday party but we had a brilliant lunch outside with two friends. The team looked after us brilliantly. Delicious, good value food with lovely service.

My wife chose the crab starter followed by fillet of pork whilst I had fig and goats cheese salad and roast belly of pork - all quite delicious and generous helpings. There was a good choice of wines reasonably priced. The welcoming management and staff were very attentive and the whole experience was extremely good. The restaurant was very full. It was sad that this would be the final evening before the lockdown but we cannot wait until the hoped-for re-opening in December Christopher Morgan

The food was up to the usual high standard, and the service was exceptional. My partner asked for bread rather than brioche with the chicken liver parfait, and they provided it exactly as she wanted.

Professional,Warm and friendly staff. We ordered 3 Kir Royals , one for a friend who hadn’t yet arrived. Our server brought ours immediately . Our friend turned up and her drink was on the table as soon as she sat down, no prompting needed. You don’t feel rushed, we shared starters before ordering our mains. The pate is great and quite a generous portion . Great menu choice, my husband shared the Chateaubriand, which he raved about. . Never had a bad time here.

The staff are all fantastic. There are so many of them you feel really well looked after - very friendly, accommodating and efficient. The atmosphere is lovely and the food almost always excellent. Unfortunately this time my burger (not my usual order) was dry and lacking in flavour.
