Côte Basingstoke

The staff were very nice and efficient. unfortunately, due to our table position my friends chair kept being knocked when staff were walking past behind her.

Our basket of bread was forgotten so we had to remind the waiter. However, we were pleasantly surprised that we were not charged for it, lovely meal!

Really nice breakfast, and very good value for money with the hot drink/juice/cooked dish deal. Service was a little slow at times, but we weren't in a rush so this wasn't an issue for us - and our waitress was absolutely lovely too!

Food was fantastic and the atmosphere was good. Felt like you were on a restaurant abroad not Basingstoke which is a good thing! Will definitely be returning!

I visited in February for dinner and March for breakfast both were great and I would highly recommend. I would advise booking in advance as it’s normally busy. I booked via the website which was quick and easy.

Enjoyed the lunch out today. Service was good although one of the starters was the wrong one. We will definitely be back. Staff are friendly and welcoming

Very disappointing, had to ask for knives and orange juice. Order came out wrong, had to send sausages back as cold and not really cooked and bacon very salty. Was looking forward to going but didn't live up to expectations.

Great service. Great food. A small mistake with dessert not arriving time But rectified with taking that and coffeez off of ouf bill and free kir royals on our next visit x. Would highly recommend

Lovely evening. Food very good. Bit slow at times but that was more than made up for by the offer of a free drink all round. Customer service was excellent.

As always the service and the food were excellent. We both enjoy the French style food and ambiance. We will definitely visit cote brasserie again.

This was our first time at Cote Basingstoke, having visited both St Martin's Lane and Covent Garden branches many times. We were not disappointed. Food, service and ambience excellent. We will return.

Can recommend the food which is excellent. Staff were welcoming and attentive. However, it is a very noisey restaurant making it impossible to make yourself heard without shouting. We also felt the evening was somewhat rushed with little time to relax. After seating, food and drink orders were quickly taken, food was speedily served and dishes cleared without delay after each course - great if in a hurry, not so good if you want to chill with a nice glass of wine. If you want a quiet relaxing evening then maybe Cote's not for you. Roger

Food absolutely gorgeous, staff friendly & keen to recommend their favourites as so many scrumptious options we couldn’t decide and really nice vibe about the place. Will definitely be coming back and will certainly recommend to all my friends.

I was welcomed for my lunch with birthday wishes. The complimentary Kir Royale was almost instantaneous and brought back fond memories of the 1970’s. As always, the food and service were great. This was cheering on what was unexpectedly a difficult day. Imagine my delight when I asked for the bill and was told there was no charge. Such kind thoughtfulness is remarkable. Thank you Côte

Great family evening trying out the new Côte Brasserie - perfect faultless service throughout the whole evening, excellent food, I’ve given a 4 rating only because I had the risotto and felt it was a bit bland but that might be a personal taste thing. Will definitely be visiting again soon!!

This second visit was equally good as our first vist. Helpful, friendly and not too attentive service. Glorious menu where choosing what to have was the hardest part in what was a very relaxed and enjoyable meal. Portion sizes are just right, so I did not have to forgo a starter just to make sure I had room for a dessert!

Meal with friends to celebrate a birthday and retirement. The food was delicious with very attentive service in nice surroundings - but incredibly noisy! Difficult to hold a conversation!

Couldn’t fault it. The service was impeccable from the moment you walked into the restaurant. One of our party is a coeliac and he was catered for perfectly. 100% would reccomend!

The food was absolutely delicious, we had Moules and Fougasse to start, followed by Sirloin Steak and Cod Goujons for main. We couldn’t fault it in any way. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the restaurant was very clean, Only negative was, perhaps there could be slightly more space between tables, you are very close to the table next to you. But other than that, amazing evening and would happily go back again.

Excellent menu and all very good except we were sat right next to the till, bar and waste bin counter, hence the low score on noise level.

It was an amazing experience , very tasty food , and a great level of service. Darren , the manager has been outstanding , can't fault anything, 10 out of 10. Well done !

Great food and service but I do not agree with the pre-added 12.5% service charge. The restaurant will say you can remove it as it is optional but why should the customer be put in this position. A shame this put a dampener on an otherwise good experience. This will put me off returning.

excellent service, and food. our waitress was attentive and friendly, it was a nice setting. the area was slightly warmer than was comfortable but that is probably because it was so busy. would recommend the moules!

Service ran very smoothy for mothers day. Food was fab, staff need more etiquette training(don't lean across to serve people! Should aways serve Ladies first as well) Phoebe made our visit, she served our desserts, had a lovely disposition and was professional at service.

I have visited Cote several times, usually my breakfast is excellent - however today it was presented cold, this was probably down to the plates not being hot when the food was placed on them. This tarnished my experience today unfortunately. Regards Peter

Served 3 courses in 55 minutes( obviously wanted us out for a later sitting!!) not my idea of a night out . would have gone to Mac D if I wanted fast food. Noise level very bad real turn off. Shame as decor was nice , food very good and people were lovely. needs to improve for me to return as not cheap.

Food was very good though a bit expensive. Quite loud too as could not always hear what others in party were saying. Nice for special night out only.

The service was very slow. The waiter on our section kept ignoring us, as in once he realised he had forgotten about us he was embarrassed to come and say hello or apologise. The manager eventually came to help and was lovely. Food on the other hand was amazing. You must inject your chicken with water, it was melt in the mouth tender! we almost thought uncooked but it was lovely!!

Really nice and friendly staff. The food was really tasty and the service was very fast. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family. Can't wait to come back!

Good service, food was OK but not quite up to the usual standard and the Valentine's Day menu was probably a little overpriced given the average quality of the food. Nonetheless we enjoyed a pleasant evening.

We are rating this through the lens of eating in many rather rarefied restaurants internationally. As a newly opened local restaurant, convenient for the theatre etc, it is a very significant improvement on the other establishments and we hope it will thrive. Good value, well prepared food, attentive and helpful staff (contrary to some other reviews) all make for a quality stress free experience albeit don;t forget this is a chain restaurant. That said, the menu is creative - think River Cottage style (not the same absolute quality) however the wine list is somewhat erratic and could be improved without much effort - particularly the "by glass" choices. Minor minus points - the round tables really are slightly too small. It should not be necessary to order bread as a side with a bowl of mussels. The pre 7pm "theatre" menu is very good value.

We always have a good meal at Cote my daughter is coeliac so we know it's a safe place for her to eat.

Last visit staff could not do enough for me and my children - not so much this time, could be as were very busy but honestly took the shine off us going. We were so looking forward to it as finally a nice place for brunch on Basingstoke. Hopefully an improved service next time

Spent a very pleasant evening with friends in Cote Basingstoke. The service was great and the food was excellent. We will definitely be going back again.

Since it opened Cote has become our go-to restaurant in Basingstoke for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food and service is always excellent every time we visit. Staff are attentive even when busy and the atmosphere is typically French. Far better than any other restaurant in the town.

Best service we have ever had. Staff went above and beyond making it extra special. Food was fantastic and overall was a superb experience and we would highly recommend.

After arriving and being seated we then waited a full 20 minutes without being offered so much as a glass of water. Tried on a number of occasions to get the attention of the waiting staff before deciding to leave. We then went to one of your competitors for a lovely meal. I have given the food 1 star because there was no option for not offered any!!

Food was good. Service was ok but got the distinct impression that we weren't working to the staff's timeframes. Also the staff were strangely disengaged; no eye contact or smiles and they kept cutting across our conversation to ask us things. I know it's difficult not to do that to some extent but there was no hesitation, just straight in with what they needed to say or do. Also, please (please!) consider bucking the trend for hard lines without any soft furnishings to buffer the noise. Very difficult in most restaurants to have a conversation and your restaurant is the same. It will put me off going to you again, particularly at busy times.

This was our second visit in as many weeks. The food choices are wide, but this does not compromise the high standards. The service was also brilliant, a caring approach and made us feel very welcome. We will be back again!
