Quite a Rude maitre di, Brocken glass on my seat, and really slow service we were in the restaurant for two and a half hours
1st time we have visited your restaurant and after eating here we will definitely be coming back. Food was top notch and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Pleasant experience with good food and helpful staff. They knew we were in a rush to get to a concert and served us quickly and efficiently.
Your restaurant is the best in Basingstoke. It was my second time. Staff helpful. Dishes tasted amazing. Drinks as well. Definitely I will come back many, many times.
Fantastic service and lovely lunch time menu selections. Relaxed atmosphere as not too noisy. Great value money and good wine selection. Perfect for meeting with friends.
Had a very tasty vegetarian breakfast today. Lovely food, atmosphere and we were well looked after by the staff. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you.
Food good service very good alround nice meal very enjoyable
The food was wonderful with good service. Eaten here several times and never had a bad meal.
Not the best evening we have had at one of our favourite restaurants. The service was a little slow the steak overcooked but we still had a lovely evening. The staff try their best to ensure you are happy with the meal.

Lunch at Basingstoke, sat outside in sun. A warm welcome from staff and checked things were okay during our time there. Food was fresh and delicious.
My wife's soup didn't come out with the starters. Server didn't mention the option of sauces to go with the steak. The steak lacked flavour. Management were really good.
Very good food and very good service. Bit too noisy but our table was on its own which was benefit. Fish pie lovely and very hot
We all had a great time, the food and service was really good. We had the set menu, which was very good value for money.
Service very hap hazard no one assined to our table noticed lots of customers waiting to be served ,we waited at least 20 minutes to pay our bill ,service charge far to excessive
Greeted nicely but walking to table and seeing a screaming naked child of 4+- on floor not good at all. Screaming continued for another 15 minutes. Manager should have asked mother to leave immediately with the child. Getting bill took a little time but after receiving bill we had to wait another 10 minutes whilst the waiter served other tables and ignored us. Even held arm up like in a classroom at one stage but was still ignored, not good. Will not be repeated.
I had booked a table for 6 and when we arrived there were only 5, we waited 45 minutes to get our first drink - 55 minutes to get our starters (of breads and olives) and as soon as we received the breads our mains were brought to the table - we sent the mains back and were questioned over what were our actual starters as we are only earning bread?! Too little staff on duty to service the customers.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was superb, compliments to the chef. Better quality than that of Blanc Brassiere that we regularly use.
As usual for Cote, lovelybfood and very friendly staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Or if there is a problem, it gets sorted with speed and efficiency. Love the Cote chain of restaurants !!!
Nice service but food not so good this time. All three starters were good. Two main meals out of three of us were not so good. Lovely service from Salvo. One meal not charged for as majority of it left as chicken was to chewy.
As always, a lovely evening out with a friend. Great ambiance with great service. I love trying something different each time I visit and am yet to be disappointed.
This was my first time at Cote in Basingstoke as I usually visit the Newbury one. Overall I was very impressed with the Basingstoke branch but felt the service was very slow.
Delicious food, very accommodating staff, my self and my partner had a wonderfully enjoyable evening, we have already booked for our next date night.
Had a table for 2 but was a round one meant for 4. Wouldnt have been an issue except staff constantly walking past and so close, some carrying laden trays, got jolted couple times too, so bad position. Had 2 course Mothers Day menu, one had the soup for starter but no bread with it and for main a very dry breast of chicken. Other had endive salad with tiny pieces of Roquefort and chopped nuts with a runny butter/Roquefort sauce which was quite nice and fillet of sea bass for main which was nice too. Overall a good meal for one of us, very polite and attentive staff but poor table. Wont be rushing back unfortunately, sorry guys!
Very relaxed place and easy to book . Good food and choice. Great place to meet up with good friends for a Saturday brunch catch up.
Some confusion at start about who should be serving us but once sorted it was good food, with speedy service. Well catered for the children. Will definitely return.
Prompt service and great food and importantly hot food too! Lovely decor and friendly and pleasant atmosphere. This was our third visit and we will be visiting again soon.
We thoroughly enjoy this restaurant. The food is very similar to the excellent food we enjoy in Paris when we visit! A couple of occasions I've had to chase drinks orders, but that's the only negative thing I can say! My daughter, girlfriend and I thoroughly rate this place and we intend to keep returning!
My wife and I often visit Cotes in Farnham and Guildford, today we came to Basingstoke for some light shopping and breakfast.. We do enjoy a lovely breakfast at your restaurant, but today the service was really poor, and the food very disappointing, compared to previous experiences.. food was luke warm and lacked any taste.. Sadly for us, we won't be visiting this restaurant again!
Spent a very pleasant evening with friends in Cote Basingstoke. The service was great and the food was excellent. We will definitely be going back again.
Great food. Lovely atmosphere and amazing staff! We came for a family meal and everyone was extremely happy and satisfied Will be returning very soon
Food was excellent. I would recommend this to all my friends and family. One of the best restaurants in Basingstoke Would definitely eat three again. Possibly in the evening next time.
Since it opened Cote has become our go-to restaurant in Basingstoke for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food and service is always excellent every time we visit. Staff are attentive even when busy and the atmosphere is typically French. Far better than any other restaurant in the town.
So glad to have discovered Cote as just what Festival Place needed. Friendly helpful service from the minute I arrived and a real 'buzz' about the place as it was almost full on a Thursday night and a lovely atmosphere with dim lighting hallelujah! Delicious moules and steak frites and the service was slick without being too overly attentive so a lovely evening had by all.
Fab service Great breakfast & Good value ! Always a good eating out experience at Cote no matter what time of day ! Very enjoyable.
Came with my husband, We had a lovely relaxing evening. Good atmosphere, lovely food . Service was good. Price reasonable. Would definitely be returning again. J
Great atmosphere and lovely food. Would really recommend but make sure you book! It gets very busy at weekends but the service is still very good.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere is calm and pleasant. There's a great selection on the menu and the food is delicious. I would highly recommend
overall very good but rather noisy as it filled up
I have visited the restaurant three times recently and each time was most enjoyable. Delicious food served well by courteous staff. Great value for money. Looking forward to my next visit.
Lovely atmosphere and service. Friendly attentive staff. I would definitively visit again. I’d recommend booking in advance if you are thinking of visiting so you are not disappointed.
Nice enough meal, glad it was a cheap set menu as could only taste the breadcrumbs for started (no taste of calamari). Main meal was supposed to be seafood linguini but it was spaghetti and not much seafood.
Food was excellent as we have come to expect! However a couple of minor niggles, we had booked some 4 weeks in advanced and had requested a quiet table for two, on arrival we were shown to the table opposite the coat stand which is like sitting in a corridor, we politely declined and were offered a window seat instead. Then despite order two starters and two mains from the a la carte menu no one offered us a complimentary gin and tonic as so widely lauded. Should I have asked ? Maybe but where was the staff training and customer care?
All ways a warm welcome friendly knowledgeable Staff Good good atmosphere God's variety very clean An alround very good experience. Would definitely recommend it good quality drinks
This was my first visit to the Basingstoke Cote Brasserie. It has a lovely ambience and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent but I think that the wine is overpriced. I also prefer to give my own gratuity but the 12.5% "optional" gratuity is automatically added to the bill.
Food was good. Service was ok but got the distinct impression that we weren't working to the staff's timeframes. Also the staff were strangely disengaged; no eye contact or smiles and they kept cutting across our conversation to ask us things. I know it's difficult not to do that to some extent but there was no hesitation, just straight in with what they needed to say or do. Also, please (please!) consider bucking the trend for hard lines without any soft furnishings to buffer the noise. Very difficult in most restaurants to have a conversation and your restaurant is the same. It will put me off going to you again, particularly at busy times.
The food was lovely and the staff were very attentive and polite. There was nothing that was too much of an effort for them. Will definitely be returning.
Poor slow service. Had to wait a long time to even get a drink. food was variable, chicken parfait was good, prawns were not in the same sauce as per last visit. Duck was not as expected, it was very thinly sliced with no crispy skin and was served pink even though my guest asked for it well done, I suspect that it was only a fraction on the duck breast. The monkfish was cooked ok but the bacon was almost non existent the sauce underneath was cool not hot and was watery with canned slimy mushrooms. Dessert, I requested crepe in grand marnier, this was dreadful, the crepes were cold and the alcohol was still raw inedible. I was disappointed when I saw that my dessert was still on the bill. I will not be returning.
This was our first visit to Cote in Basingstoke and we were so impressed. Basingstoke really needed somewhere like this - a bit more upscale but still relaxed and enjoyable. The food was good but the service was outstanding. We were celebrating a significant birthday and were offered a complimentary glass of bubbly each, and the birthday girls were surprised with candles in their puddings. Our waiter went above and beyond to make the evening special. We will definitely be back very soon!
Great to finally have somewhere in Basingstoke town centre that offers a good breakfast. Great selection of good quality breakfast items, and plenty to choose from should you want to opt for a healthy breakfast too!
Lovely staff lovely breakfast and overall nice atmosphere! Booked online so no waiting. Evening meals great too! A nice and different type of restaurant for Basingstoke!
