Another very pleasant evening at Cote Birmingham. Cote has become my favourite restaurant, for a girls night out or a quiet meal with my husband. The menu choice and pricing ensures that everyone’s needs are met. Food as usual ws excellent, service attentive and atmosphere great. Thank you team Cote Birmingham.
Good food, plenty of choice on the menu and good value for money, particularly before 7pm if you go for the two optional menus. I'd definitely go again. My only small gripe was that I'd have liked the option of new boiled potatoes rather than either having to choose between fries or fondant potatoes, but turning this round, it says a lot if this is the only thing I could fault.
Warm welcome, friendly efficient service, enjoyable food. Good choice of food. We mainly ordered from the set menu, which was good value. It was a great venue for our get together because it was not too noisy so we could enjoy conversation over lunch.
The Birmingham team made my 21st birthday so special, and the food was of course great. A big thank you to them! We will be coming back for my 22nd!!
We just ate at Cote Birmingham and the service was excellent. Arrived earlier than booking time but not a problem. Had complimentary rhubarb martinis. Yummy! Could choose own table and food arrived promptly and very hot. All delicious; fish stew, steak frites and duck breast were our choices. Choc mousse and fondant were divine. Prices reasonable. Recommend to all.
A wonderful meal from start to finish with excellent service from an efficient, polite and attentive staff, my wife and I will look forward to a return visit.
Lovely food and wine at a reasonable price and a great atmosphere. The location is perfect - alongside the canal. We will certainly come again.

As always good quality food and service. When we come to Birmingham we always come here. It is consistent with its good service and food .
As usual the food was great and the portions very good. A pity, then, that the service did not match. One waitress spent 20 minutes chatting to customers in Spanish while her colleagues dealt with a busy Saturday night clientele. When we asked for our bill the waiter made a joke about his name being Tom and then seemed to forget what we had asked. Ten minutes later we asked another waiter who responded immediately. I have to say, too, that I strongly object to a 12.5% "discretional service charge" being included on the bill; it is up to me to make this decision. Furthermore, if I am to reward service, I want to make sure that all my money goes to the member of staff who has provided that service.
Service was excellent and felt well catered even with our young 18 months son (we weren't shuffled into a corner to be forgotten.) Only criticism is that the side carrots were a still rock hard, but they were removed from our bill, so all is well.
Lovely meal, in a nice setting by the canal Very impressed with the gluten free menu and provision here Loads of choice so there is something for everyone
Excellent food and great service in a great Mailbox location
Great service and amazing food !! Absolutely love it here will definitely be coming back, the staff were so friendly and the food came out so quick!
Wonderful service, waiters are always brilliant. I don’t catch the gentleman’s name but he was a fantastic waiter, very very nice. Food lovely, lot sold out but always the case on Mother’s Day.
This birthday visit to Birmingham for my husband was very successful. We were allocated a window table (55) which was excellent. Another point we would like to mention is the exceptional service provided by a young Lithuanian waiter who looked after us very well. The complimentary gin cocktails also provided a memorable start to the meal! Delia Haxworth
This was our first visit to Côte Brasserie but we certainly hope that is not our last after spending a lovely couple of hours enjoying great service and wonderful food. My wife & I enjoyed every moment & every mouthful. Even the carrots served as a side dish were perfect, offering a freshness & sweetness of flavour that is uncommen in such chain restaurants. Delightful! I guess then, that my rating of their place in Birmingham may seem like over the top hyperbole to some but we felt it was a brilliant example of just how good such places as this could and should be.
We came for the Valentine's Day special menu. There was an excellent choice of all three courses on offer and, as usual, the quality of the food we were served was really good. Friendly staff, good ambience, good food, good value - can't ask for more!
The staff made our special occasion a fabulous experience with their thought and attention to detail. Thank you! The food was delicious.
Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food. It was our wedding anniversary and the staff gave us a card, put flowers on the table and gave us a complimentary Kir Royale each, which was very thoughtful of them. The food was excellent, I didn’t know what to expect as we hadn’t visited a Côte Brasserie before, but the food was tasty, well cooked and presented and absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely come again next time we visit Birmingham.
A great way to end an afternoon shopping. A cocktail, followed by bread and olives, a chicken dish to die for with a glass of house wine. Well done Cote Birmingham.
We were warmly greeted, we had only a very short wait before our meal was delivered to our table. We were asked how our meal was, our meal was delicious, served lovely & hot. We were asked if we enjoyed our meal before we left the restaurant. Both waitresses were extremely polite and accommodating. An excellent experience.
Very nice venue in the mail box, excellent service but a little pricy but overall very enjoyable, loved the cream caramel best I have ever tasted
Really nice pre-theatre meal Excellent value for money as we had the 2 course lunch menu which has plenty to choose from. Staff were all friendly and the service was good. Beautiful surroundings on a sunny evening really love the living wall in the outside eating area.
Good service, nice and quick. Starters - calamari and shredded pork. Very tasty and he perfect quantity. Mains - My partner ordered the chargrilled chicken and found it very bland. I ordered the rib eye steak, medium rare. Very tasty, however mine was rare.
We came as a group of mums of all ages for a late mother’s day lunch. There was a lovely choice of food. We had the prestige menu. The service was great and the price very reasonable. We will definitely come again
I loved the asparagus as a starter. I've had it twice I've been there and it was cooked to perfection on both occasions. I wish the same could be said of a certain Michelin-starred restaurant I went to recently! I had chicken as a main which was also excellent. Cote serves good quality food at reasonable prices and has become my 'go to' restaurant in Birmingham for casual dining.
Excellent food and service as always. We love this restaurant, the atmosphere is relaxed yet the staff are exceptionally professional. With the best moules marinière and Breton fish stew in the UK, this is a great taste of France in Birmingham!
Absolutely terrible. Waited 1hr and 15 mins for our mains. To then be told what we ordered had run out. Despite the table next to us (who ordered 30mins after us) having the duck, which we were told had ran out. No wait staff came over to explain or aplolgise and it wasn’t untill we went over to question where our food was we were told. When our food finally arrived it was dry and the potatoes were pretty much raw. Such a shame, as I’ve eaten in many cotes and always had a great experience.
Fantastic meal with great service - as always- thank you.
Excellent service by host and waitress. Usual top quality food (breakfast). As alway a very welcoming friendly atmosphere in the Birmingham restaurant.
Great food at a good price. Very attentive friendly staff.
Service is just awesome. Waiters are very professional food awesome
Food was excellent and service was consistent, given how busy the restaurant was. Staff were also able to accommodate us earlier than our booked table. Would recommend!
Overall it was a very pleasant meal. I enjoyed the free cocktail French 75 - an interesting mix of flavours. I was a little disappointed that the veal steak was not available, but it's something I might try next time. I was impressed that the waitress, when I asked why it was called 'rose' in the "grilled rose veal t-bone steak" meant was able to come back and tell me. The mussels as a starter were just the right quantity (I thought there may have been too many) and I love the cream sauce that goes with them. The duck in the main course (a generous helping) was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of potato to go with it. It needed some vegetable accompaniment and I chose (perhaps unusually) the tomato because peas seem a little banal and I haven't enjoyed the beans much in the past. The spinach would have been another possibility. There were not that many diners in the restaurant so there was a slight lack of atmosphere, but it was a miserable day outside and that had probably kept people away.
An absolutely delicious meal with excellent service. This was our first visit to Cote Brasserie in the Mail Box and we will definitely be returning. Thank you.
First time to visit Cote Brasserie and we will be returning! A great experience, excellent service and very helpful, friendly staff. We will see you again very soon,....
Attentive staff from the moment we walked in. This establishment had been recommended to me for my mum’s birthday celebrations. Good food and reasonable prices with a specials menu as well. Will definitely be returning! Thank you to all the team!
Staff are always intentive and polite, you could as enough of them. The food is always magnificent, very tasty and there is a large choice of amazing dishes (I would recommend the Poulet Grillé). Definitely will be returning for a third time.
Excellent food served by very friendly knowledgable staff in a warm inviting atmosphere .Everytime i visit my experience is the same would highly recomend if youve never been
The staff were helpful and friendly. The meal was delicious. I can definitely recommend the duck or the fish parmentier. As a special dessert the Grande Marnier crepe, with it flaming sauce was a real treat.
Orderd the Pork for my main, Not much flavour and the pork was over cooked. My starter and dessert was okay. Service was not the best waited along time for the table to be cleared in between courses, and for the bill especially when the restaurant was quiet and plenty of staff on duty.
very attentive staff.excellent food we had the 3 courses great value.would defo come back this was our second visit.always a great choice too. we had a great night thankyou.
Everything and everyone was fabulous. The food and service were faultless. Thank you. We can’t wait to come again. And Matthew the Manager was exceptionally friendly and gave a great personal and attentive service and knew just the right way to be friendly but professional. It was a great night.
My wife and I had a pre theatre meal and usual were not disappointed. Food was superb, as normal, and service and ambiance of the restaurant was even better.
Good evening, reasonable food at reasonable prices. The restaurant quite quiet although it was a Wednesday evening so to be expected really. Service was excellent.
Great service Staff were excellent dealing with gluten free dietary requirements. Really enjoyed our meals.
Great food and really lovely staff. Thanks for a great night.
A very enjoyable meal, catching up with old friends. The lunch menu featured many of my favourites, the pork belly was especially good. We all enjoyed the wine and at no point did we feel rushed. Will certainly go back.
Excellent, as always. Great menu of affordable dishes with attentive and friendly service in one of Birmingham's most attractive canalside locations. Cote is our default pre-concert restaurant. We've never had a bad meal and this week we even had a free bottle of wine. What more could we wish for?
Absolutely lovely time , went out for valentines with my boyfriend and honestly can’t get over the food! such a lovely environment, I look forward to going again!
