Côte Bury St Edmunds

Restaurant was very busy but they found us a nice table. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Food and wine excellent as always. The friends I took were very impressed.

We en,joyed the meal, nothing to complain about the food, my only criticism would be the drinks, beer bottles at 25cl, with no option of a pint or thereabouts and the wine list for a glass only is minimal

Lovely evening. Staff polite and food excellent. Only criticism was slowness of asking if we wanted drinks, although we did receive our complimentary Keira Royal. Keep up the good work.

It was very hot where we were sitting. The air conditioning was not working. Food took a long time to arrive. It was OK, but not great. Appreciated having a gluten free menu and the staff are lovely.

Lovely food but poor service. As the evening went on found it increasingly hard to get staff attention. Felt like we should leave before we were ready too.

Compared with previous visits, when we've always been very satisfied, today was deeply disappointing. The waiting staff were clearly struggling with the number of customers, but an hour's wait between ordering and being served (after we'd asked where our meal had got to) was excessive. Even the nibbles didn't arrive until we reminded the waiter. My second drink didn't arrive at all. We were given a generous reduction on the bill to make up for it, but I'd much rather have had your usual efficient, friendly service. As it was we left without bothering with dessert or coffee. It will be a long time before we book cote again for Saturday lunch.

The meal was excellent and well served as were the complementary drinks. A large group all wanting separate bills dislocated the place for the best part of half an hour, but was eventually resolved. We shall continue to use the restaurant.

Very good service and a buzzing atmosphere. A problem with the main course was handled well by the waiter and we enjoyed the evening in Bury.

My wife and I have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions and can say we have never been disappointed. We selected from the "Set Menu" on this occasion and found the food exceptional. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance and the service could not be faulted - we are looking forward to our next visit!!

Best visit by far to this particular Cote - the food was delicious with fabulous service from Iona our Canadian waitress, who managed our entire end of the restaurant with efficiency, vitality & aplomb. The manager himself was noticeable by his absence from the restaurant floor for most of the evening. We have experienced lacklustre & rather careless service on several previous visits to this branch of Cote but the waitress on Thursday evening was wonderful & the food very good representing terrific value for money. Overall rating for evening: 6

Delicious food, very nice wine and friendly efficient service. Just right before the cinema which is conveniently just around the corner. Excellent as usual. Definitely be back.

A busy Saturday night but the service and food were excellent. The restaurant is located in the centre of town, very handy for the Abbey and other places of interest

Lovely food and great service. Easy to book on line, arrived at the restaurant early and was able to sit down straight away. Looking forward to going back :-)

Overall reasonable but not great on all accounts - one orange juice was very watery, one of my poached eggs was hard (rather than soft and runny), waiters were not 'happy' (hard to describe but in essence did not smile and engage with us). The crepes looked brown and sad! I think the discretionary 12.5% service charge is excessive Having said that the place was very clean, the coffee good, great to have door opened by staff on arrival and on exit, we were not rushed, real napkins great, staff smart and always polite.

Booking the table online through quandoo was easy. The menu provided plenty of choice, the food was excellent & well presented, the service polite & efficient. The restaurant is comfortable with a nice ambiance, so overall we had a good experience.

Very nice as usual !! Staff always very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Creme Caramel is best ever ! Hoping new reward scheme works out well.

Another very good meal at Cote. Great service and great food. We eat here quote regularly and have never been disappointed. The standard is always high.

Good service, polite staff and tasty food.Booked for 6.15pm took advantage of the early bird offers for food ,had with my meal a really nice french cider.

Nice restaurant, atmosphere and service was excellent. Food was lovely and reasonable priced, portions were just the right size and drinks were not over priced like other places I've been too. Will go again.

Our first time here , food lovely and service friendly and top class. Will definitely return as we had set September menu for a pre theatre meal which was very good value.

Went for pre theatre meal with friends. Pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable the food was for a 'chain' restaurant. Would certainly go again. Brilliant value especially the early bird menu.

Good well presented food at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and efficient. The only down side is the fixed discretionary gratuity of 12.5%.

Good value, tasty food (steak and frites) with nice touches (golden beetroot salad) and friendly staff in a pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely return and could do with one in Colchester.

Always good, friendly service. If there is a problem it is always promptly and satisfactorily dealt with. The restaurant has character and a good buzz.

Myself and three friends enjoyed a splendid lunch with perfect food and service. The only negative thing to mention was that the restaurant was very warm.

Food excellent and service very friendly. This restaurant never fails to deliver we had the 10 year anaversary menu and even though this was a set menu the choice of food and free champagne was good value for what we ate.

Meal was excellent but the service needs to be improved. It was my birthday and your company had emailed me free drinks. I had to ask for them and I was not wished happy birthday it fell a bit flat. Our server was lacking any personality and looked scared stiff at serving us. Not good. Training and support needed.

Booked at short notice when we arrived in Bury. Cote busy but welcoming. Food usual good standard. They had run out of plaice but did the sea bass with plaice veggies as a alternative. Desserts good as always - creme caramel and tarte au citron which we then shared provided a lovely contrast. Expresso is always served hot at Cote - not always hot at other places. Staff friendly as I expect at Cote

Our family of four had a lovely time and enjoyed some great meals at a very reasonable price and were looked after by a very friendly and attentive waiter. 5 out of the 6 rating was only due to one of the dishes requested was not available. We are regular customers and will be going back soon.

Went for a meal as my daughter treated my husband and I for our 50th birthday, had the 10th anniversary meal which had an amazing selection and didn't disappoint,excellent service from our waitress all in all a wonderful evening.

Great Value early evening menu, choice of either 2 or 3 courses. We only had the 2 courses as run out of time as off to cinema. Great service and food was lovely.
