Côte Canterbury

A lovely evening at Canterbury Cote made more special by the complimentary Kir Royales. Nice. One small error in the order - two Asparagus starters ordered with Hollandaise but served with vinaigrette. All else was very good.

Ate at the Canterbury Cote on Sunday and Monday evening. Dependable French Bistro food; excellent half-chicken with chips, also good mussels and steak/frites and a delicious chocolate mousse. Wine is good value and good quality: Sauvignon and Rhone. Friendly service and a relaxed attitude which allowed us to wait for a third diner caught in traffic from London. Much recommended. Maybe we could have done without the canned music, however.

Went last night at 7pm 14th April. The food was absolutely amazing and the waitress we have was absolutely lovely and couldn't have done enough for us. Really enjoyable experience

We were shown to our table promptly and served our cocktail, which was delicious. Out order was taken and the food was served quickly. The service was excellent throughout the meal. The food was very good as usual although my husband was a little disappointed with the risotto which was a little bland.

It was great experience as it always has been! Fantastic service and food! We took our friends there and they really liked it too! Best place to go and have a lovely informal yet stylish meal :) Thank you!

The Canterbury Cõtes is our favourite. We are always impressed with the excellant customer care and fantastic food . Fillet steak with peppercorn sauce is our favourite. Staff are courteous and attentive. Thank you

Overall we were reasonably happy with the 2 courses we ate. The 2 starters let the meals down overall. The crab starter had no true taste of crab so either there was insufficient crab or the quality wasn't great, or both. Crab has to be done well, so if pricing is an issue then I'd suggest not including it on the menu. The fish croquette (sorry but have forgotten the name of the dish), was seemingly heavy on potato and light on fish and too salty.

My wife, son and parents all went this lunch time to celebrate my fathers birthday. All was absolutely fabulous. Great food, great service, good drinks, and lovely ambiance. Could not fault anything. Well done to all the staff!!

Super delicious food cooked to perfection and excellent efficient service over a very busy lunch time where 475 covers we’re being served on Mother’s Day! Booked on line the week before for 7 persons and a 2 year old who also cleared her plate! Couldn’t fault the team at Canterbury who were all smiling throughout as were the customers around us. Our fifth visit and certainly not our last, thank you!

Very nice mothers day breakfast even with a very busy restaurant good service. Always have problem with tip being put on bill. Although would have tipped as service OK

Too notch food, best place for high quality great tasting food. Really good service and great atmosphere. We had the duck and the swordfish dishes and can’t fault them. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Had a very enjoyable lunch Saturday, we booked a table but arrive quite early, and were able to order just drnks until we were ready to eat. I am disabled and they moved furniture around to accommodate my scooter.

Excellent meal at Cote last night. All of our food was delicious. The service was also great. We enjoyed free Kir Royals as it was my birthday which was lovely! Csnt wait to visit again to try some other things on the menu.

Not up to the usual high standard this time. Seafood croquets had more potato than seafood and the seafood linguine was a little sparse on seafood. Service was good at the start giving us time to savour the apéritif while choosing from the menu and before the starter which arrived fairly promptly. However the wine came too late to accompany the starter and as more people arrived the kitchen must have been under some pressure. The delay between the starter and main course was unacceptable, with no explanation or apology.

Very nice meal, and prompt service. Staff always friendly and pleasant. Only problem was being at end of restaurant next to disabled toilet, with a queue and people having trouble opening door...so rather noisy and not very private!

I am a regular at Côte both in Canterbury and Bath. Today was not a good experience. I brought a couple of friends. The service was not very good and I did speak to the duty manager. However I was also disappointed with the food. I thought the sea bream was dry and the accompanying vegetables uninspired. I did not finish my meal. My guest asked for a flat white coffee and was disappointed to receive a cup full of froth. Sad - it was always my favourite town restaurant to meet friends but I will be looking elsewhere.

Food was delicious. Everything very well cooked. Service was initially excellent but deteriorated as it got busier. Been to nicer Cote restaurants but decor ok. Overall good experience. £100 for 4 incl tip.

The Breton Tomato were disappointing as only 1/4 of one heritage tomato rest standard tomatoes. as always staff saved the day with very good service. We had a bottle of Gevrey Chambertain and this adding 12.5% to the price of £53 is a bit of a joke. as they have already put at least 70% on the price. I am happy to pay 12.5% on food but always unhappy to do this on wine. It makes me not have wine in Cote Brasserie on most occasions. Having said all this we enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. My one star for value is only down to the service charge on wine. As always we enjoyed our meal but will not go back for a while because of the unfair addition of 12.5% on wines.

Splendid pre theatre set menu, great ambience and so warm on a freezing evening. Emily (?)was excellent, welcoming us at table, patient while we chose. Warm, engaging personality which aided the meal.

We enjoyed our visit last week we thought we would come again. Once again, very friendly staff and the food again was very good. Won’t be very long before we come back. I’ve always thought the menu was very good, with plenty to choose from. Very enjoyable lunch.

The restaurant was clean and well kept, the staff were well presented and pleasant. It was my first visit to this restaurant and once our order had been placed we didn't have to wait long. The waitress came to check that everything was ok with our meals after a few minutes which I'm happy to say it was .Our meals were delicious, well presented and hot which doesn't happen everywhere. All in all I was very happy with my meal and the service and will definitely be returning.

Great service and food. Unfortunately there was a loud group on a table next to us but you can't criticise cote for that and to be fair they offered an alternative table at the outset. We just didn't realise why.... We will be going back

Beautiful service and delicious food... Coming to Cote has become a monthly treat, it's just such good value and it turns a simple Thursday night into something special.

Great fixed price menu. This month it was difficult to choose as I liked everything on it. Good quality produce, cooked well and well presented. Great service, the waiters are attentive but not intrusive. Great value.

Although we had booked a table we were kept waiting 10 minutes to be seated. It was a further 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink /food order. The garlic bread was cold when it came after a further 15 minutes. The main courses however were delicious so we would return to another branch but not Canterbury unfortunately.
