Great food from the set menu ahead of a nearby concert, and even better service from a lovely lady. Always a pleasure to eat at Cote St Martin's Lane!
A great welcome and experience. Thank you. We will be back
I use this chain a lot and last night our steak was very disappointing :( it's the first time we've had guests with us that didn't enjoy their mains, steak was gristle and quite tough (Very unusual for one) maybe they were having an off night! Waitress did give our friend an extra scoop of ice cream but wasn't quite the same
It was extremely busy and people's orders were getting forgotten and so they had to leave without eating otherwise they would have been late for the theatre. They forgot our drinks and deserts. We were disappointed as it wasn't up to cotes usual high standards and we won't be returning to this restaurant.
Fantastic choice for pre theatre. 2 fix price menus plus a la Carte. Great selection of dishes and speedy, efficient service. We had a lovely evening.
I booked an upstairs table for lunch ages ago but we were delayed (by the trains) by 15 minutes. The seating guy said he’d let our table go because we hadn’t rung (fair enough) but instead he’d seat us downstairs. If this is offered to you DON’T GO! We were seated in a gloomy cramped windowless cellar with less than chirpy staff. It was horrid. I ordered the ‘risotto vert’ If you order risotto & it comes out within 5 minutes....well, if you can cook you know the answer. It was a green tasteless bowl of sludge. I took 2 mouthfuls & called the waitress. She looked at the bowl & said “I’ll show it to the chef.” As the chef had sent it from the kitchen a few minutes earlier I’d love to know his response! He would have known it was dreadful! My husbands salmon & ragu was fine, I ate some of his, left my wine & LEFT the establishment within 15 minutes of arriving - how dreadful is that?!! As we walked out there were tables for two available. If a chef can’t make a decent risotto - go elsewhere. Cote - really dreadful experience, you need to up your game. Please do show my review.
We arrived early - almost 15 minutes early - and they couldn't have been more helpful. Although the restaurant was packed, the charming Front of House chap found us alternative table to the one they had allocated as this was just finishing up. So we were sat down, menus presented, drinks offered in seconds. The waitress couldn't have been more charming although she said we could not have our free aperitif which you had e-mailed me about, unless we ordered from the Mains menu; which in fact we ended up doing! But by then we each had a glass of fizz in hand and were happy. The food was just what we wanted for lunch and served extremely efficiently without making us feel hurried at all. A lovely experience with delightful staff. Well done you never fail us. I can't give you five stars for the atmosphere as it was very noisy when we arrived, although it got better as it emptied out at 1.45 for the matinee folk.
Too Cramped, Noisy & Cold with faulty Air Conditioning, Food was seriously crap and was returned. The starters were mass produced and I could have got better quality from Aldi Stores
Amazing food and the service was perfect! Would definitely recommend eating here!
Great choice of food and good quality at reasonable prices. Although the restaurant was very busy at the time we visited, the service was professional and food was excellent. We will definitely visit again soon!
At 5.30pm the restaurant had already run out of risotto, which I felt was bad & showed poor stock control. My friend ordered the spinach and mushroom crepes, which were in a watery sauce and were tasteless. It is usually a great restaurant & the St.Martin’s Lane one always delivers, but very sub-standard this time.
Lovely afternoon, staff helpful and friendly, food always ace, what's not to like?
Lovely meal offering good quality and superb value. We were served by an excellent, professional team who provided great customer service during an extremely busy pre-theatre sitting. Wonderful both to experience and observe! Many thanks.
Good food and service. Glad we booked as it was extremely busy!!
Didn’t get to eat there although we had booked. Upon entering the restaurant we found the noise level deafening and knew it would be impossible to stay. The waiter was sympathetic and we walked to Cote at Tavistock street where we enjoyed a pleasant meal.
Good food and service. Disappointed to be in basement, despite having reserved a table....
We always love eating here. Consistent high standards and service. Very happy.
Very nice Sunday lunch, and even a complementary glass of fizz. Usual high standard from Cote and staff
The food was excellent, well done! And all at a good price, well done to Cote!
Very pleasant early evening atmosphere... food was lovely but I get the feeling the portions are getting smaller?
We booked a pre-theatre dinner for 5pm and the restaurant had a 200 cover group incoming around 6pm We ordered olives plus bread as anti-pasta and Moules and French onion soup as starters. However depsite request the bread didn't arrive until 5 mins after we'd finished the moules and soup, so we said too late. The manager offered "to do something on the bill" and when it came, they'd taken off £2.50 for the bread!! Gallic humour (unless he was Belgian) The mains and desserts were absolutely fine, but we'll be looking elsewhere for our next pre-theatre dinner in the West End
We were a group of seven and we all enjoyed our meals and the good service at a busy Saturday lunchtime in the heart of London. Everyone came away from the restaurant saying that they would like to visit Cote again.
As usual, It was very nice, excellent food and service.

The pre theatre menu is reasonable quality food at great prices. Service was very efficient and helpful. However the restaurant was very busy and rather noisy.
We had a very good experience, despite my guests arriving late, and despite talking to front of house several times, the service was not as good or as prompt as usual. This meant we were unable to have pudding, though one of my guests was hoping to indulge. Just thought your usual smooth operation wasn’t quite as good as usual. But it won’t stop us coming back.
This restaurant always seems to be busy, perhaps because of its location but also because the food and service are impressive. But the place gets very noisy.
We arrived early but were immediately accommodated. Food and drink were good and our waiter pleasant and efficient. We have been there before and will continue to visit as we think that the whole team provide excellent and friendly service,
Good booking experience, great ambience, efficient, friendly service, good food (pre-theatre menu) - in all very enjoyable. Only reason for not giving 5* was the noise level. Always busy at this time, so lots of chattering, obviously. But a few soft furnishings placed around (curtains, cushions, material wall hangings etc) would help to absorb the very loud noise level and make for a more enjoyable, relaxed experience without having to shout at your fellow diners.
Very busy lunchtime, but attentive waitress, who looked after our requirements well. Good quality food for the price. And help choosing a wine that would work for us better than the original offered. Safe choice of restaurant, and so close to Trafalgar Square.
Good atmosphere. Full of people. Good service. Rather disappointing starter, papery puff pastry. Mains pork tenderloin was luke warm. Disappointed as have had better in this restaurant in the past.
Have visited this branch of Cote many times before going to the the theatre. The restaurant is always on the noisy side because it is usually full and all the hard surfaces mean that sound reverberates. However, today it was unbearably noisy - mainly due to the two guys at the next table who shouted rather than speaking to each other to the point where it was an unpleasant experience to be there. We couldn’t wait to get out into the relative quiet of the street! The food was also a bit of a disappointment: portions definitely seem to have shrunk and my peas, onions and lettuce side dish had whole lettuce leaves rather than shredded leaves which is what it should have been. I think we will be looking elsewhere to eat for our next theatre visit.
Our first visit to a Cote Brasserie and we were really impressed. The food was excellent- tasty and hot. Service was friendly and attentive, although it was very busy. Will definitely use again.
Excellent buzz in restaurant. My friends chicken is a bit dry but overall fun time. Lovely little lunch stop for a busy area. Thank you
Overall, the food was impressive and good value. The staff were very helpful and cheery. The noise level was, however, quite deafening. I really feel some sound deadening material would be in order and make for a more enjoyable experience.
Overall very good, but the tables were very close together and it felt a little cramped. The noise level was high but this was probably because it was full. Service was excellent.
All the staff were really friendly even with the theatre rush going on. The meal was of your usual high standard. Our waitress Sylvia was a good advert for Cote.
Very good as always! Really enjoyed my blood orange martini on the house, as did my friends, 1 of whom was also celebrating her birthday. Lovely food too - the duck confit is becoming a new personal favourite :)
Good value and reasonable, a bit noisy and long wait for service though. Cote Soho better
Good service, lovely food and great atmosphere. Worth booking a table as can get busy pre and post theatre!
We eat at Cote quite regularly and are never disappointed in the food, which is excellent value, good quality and well-cooked, or the staff, who are invariably polite and efficient. The branch in St Martin's Lane is a bit noisy and crowded, the downside of its popularity, and we were extremely put out to be turned away at Christmas because we hadn't reserved a table. So booking is essential - we won't make that mistake again.
Love Cote. Always great food and great value. Try the fish stew, you won’t regret it! Atmosphere is buzzy but not too noisy. Friendly and quick service which combined with a location in the heart of theatreland make it’s a perfect pre-show choice.
Service very good food mediocre. Fries cold the veggie option butternut and chic pea cake very small. By comparison the 2 sea bass filets was almost too much
Our party of four was given a very friendly welcome. We were given a choice of where to sit by a maitre-de whose obvious aim was to please the customer. Orders were taken promptly. The food was to a good standard which all in all made for a extremely enjoyable lunch time experience. Thank you.
Brilliant service. The waiters could not have been more helpful and obliging. Only criticism is that it was a little noisy but I suppose that is to be expected on a Friday night. Food was delicious.
Attentive service, food was as described and pre theatre menu worked well for us. Good location for galleries and theatres. We were pleasantly surprised and would recommend.
All the staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. There is a wide choice of food and drink to suit everyone and the food is tasty and served at the correct temperature. Excellent meal.
Consistent quality, excellent service and great value keep us returning to cote time after time. Dont change a winning formula! Always a good choice of seasonal dishes.
Very slow service, didn’t get offered a drink for 30minutes. We had to standup to get ourselves bread plates. Very rude waiter who wasn’t apologetic when the food for our table all arrived separately
Reliable tasty French classics served up efficiently in good time before the theatre.
The staff are efficient and friendly but your Kir royal and my salmon dish were mediocre. The veg were overcooked but otherwise it was quite tasty. The Kir Royale was very synthetic and when I mentioned this to the server he replaced it with a prosecco (without charge.)Overall quite satisfactory and thanks to the young man for his action.
