We had a really poor experience. Unfortunately the food wasn’t fresh and the quality we hoped it would be. We have recently moved to the local area and were hoping standards would be better.

5 stars out of 6, only because things can always be improved, however, things are always so good, I'm not sure how/where. I've been to many Cotes around the UK and they've always been great. A restaurant that is part of a chain, but doesn't feel like one.

My daughter loved the experience but I did feel the service could of been better I felt it was quiet slow. Food was delicious and satisfying.

We had a great evening , thank you. Never disappointed.

Lovely meal and good service Only criticism is the complimentary cocktails were charged on our bill! This has happened a couple of times at this restaurant and I am not sure why ? It was rectified but means I am now a bit suspicious of the reasoning for this happening to us more than three times

Saturday early evening four of us had a very tasty meal, a free cocktail each (as I had an offer by email), main course & dessert well presented & tea/coffee, good attentive prompt service in a clean, unrushed relaxing atmosphere.

As usual, we 5 had an excellent 3 course meal for Mother’s Day. We weren’t intending to have a dessert but of course tempted when seeing the menu. My crepe with orange liqueur was to die for - the second time I’ve indulged! I think this is a March special but I think this simple dish should be a regular. Pamela

Overall a very pleasant experience allowing for the fact that it was a very busy Sunday. However, we ordered and shortly later our welcome drink (Kir Royal), the red wine we had ordered and our first course arrived all together. It would have been pleasant to have had a little time to enjoy our Kir. The main course was well presented but the duck breast was somewhat chewy. Otherwise the meal was very pleasant and we enjoyed ourselves.

Good food but not happy at 12and half% service charge . Also not clear about cocktail offer , does it include specials menu, or must it be a la carte

Service was excellent, steak was pretty ordinary, with little flavour served with a very watery peppercorn sauce. Desserts were really good. Very noisy with lots of young children. Will probably not use again.

Brilliant to have a full vegetarian menu, which still doesn't happen in many restaurants. I really enjoyed my starter and main course - good flavours, a little different, well cooked. Well-judged amounts. My sister and daughter also enjoyed their options. Not quite so impressed with desserts, but still good. Nice surroundings, although one niggle - my seat wasn't that comfortable!

Our group of 8 had a lovely meal. Great menu options, delicious wine, at a reasonable price, and quick service which helped us get to the theatre on time. The food was hot and good quality. The only option not up to par was the mussels starter; possibly not the right time of year for juicy mussels.

Lovely meal and surroundings. Excellent service and presentation,thoroughly recommend a try, will definitely visit again when in the area. Hope the standard remains the same, will bring guests next time

The Godalming branch of Cote is consistently good. We had brunch on this occasion and it’s the best value in our opinion with good food of a high quality. The young waiting staff are polite and attentive

Cote in Godalming is always excellent value. The staff are welcoming and look after you, the menu varied and very reasonable, and the setting and atmosphere is lovely (even though the older ones amongst us remember it as a doctor's surgery).

We enjoyed a lovely mother's Day breakfast at Coté in Godalming, the restaurant was reasonably busy but we weren't at any point left waiting too long. The staff were good enough to accommodate the younger people in the group with different menu options with absolutely no issues leaving at least one little girl very happy with her chocolate pancake! Probably one of the nicest mother's Day Breakfast's we've had and everyone was in agreement it would be somewhere to return to.

Food excellent. First drink very slow to arrive (forgotten?) restaurant not yet busy. Annoying excessive use of 'no worries'.

What great service! I booked a table that morning, had a confirmation email straight away. Holly served us, what a star! Very impressed with her, she overheard it was my birthday so she gave us a complimentary drink! Would certainly recommend it and will visit again!

Being father's day it was very full, but the staff managed well, and any small problems rapidly resolved.

Enjoyed an excellent value for money Mother's Day meal at Cote Godalming yesterday. The food was well prepared and delicious with friendly service from the staff. Noise level acceptable bearing in mind the day is a family occasion.

First time at Cote Godalming and was as good as all others we visit in Dorking, Guildford, Horsham and Woking. Always excellent food and service. Can't wait to return

Food was tasty and service was prompt although not as friendly as it could have been and it was a quiet evening. What we came away thinking was check your bill carefully as they had already applied a 12.5% service charge which we didn't notice until arriving home (yes totally our mistake). We had left them a 10% tip in cash; so they profitted well!. We wete very surprised to find a charge added already to the bill. Appreciate that can occur when larger group but there were only 3 of us. Spoilt a good evening - sadly. Never left a negative review before for anywhere.

not often I leave a review for somewhere I Dine, But here the food was excellent. The service was spot on.....could not have asked for more. Whats more, they had taken the time to actually read my reservation and gave us a table that fitted my requirements... lovely evening all round, and this is the second time I have eaten here recently....and it was just as good first time.

Always good. Most reliable restaurant in Godalming. Not haute cuisine but always value for money. Can always find a table even at short notice. Breakfast lunch and dinner always a pleasure.

Although the food itself was delicious ! It was odd the my main meal came out complete but my partners didn’t, by the time his meal was fully delivered to the table his steak and sauce was cold, so had to be reheated , this took a bit of time, so I waited as didn’t want to eat my meal with out him eating his, so when his came out reheated mine was nearly cold, but I ate it as didn’t want to make a fuss, they did take 2 drinks off the menu. , which was. Kind of them. Our only complaint was in future, Maybe keep all food hot before delivering complete meals to table, we will return as still very good food and service x

The service is really great , fast and the food turns up in a timely manner. We have been going to cote brasserie for a while now and really ENJOY the set menu and find the portions just enough and leave satisfied.

Everything was brilliant 😊 from service to food as usual the whole experience was lovely. It’s was mother’s day and thought the menu was very good value.

We meet up with friends at this Cote because it has ample room, a varied menu and is good value. Unlike many chain restaurants the menu changes.

Very nice evening, pleasant waiting staff. unfortunatly the manageress smelt of tobacco. Something green (rocket) on the plate of steak frittes would look better.

Excellent friendly service and beautifully cooked food. Slight muddle over the bill - we asked for four separate bills as two people had drinks and sides but had four identical bills. This was quickly resolved. Look forward to returning when it's warm enough to sit outside.

Fabulous meal and great staff , my steak was cooked to perfection ! I would highly recommend this restaurant in Godalming. The staff were really attentive,all round great value
