we like this branch, service always friendly and prompt, meal was a bit of a disappointment, it happens!
Very reliable restaurant with a great atmosphere . Friendly service and lots of menu choices.
Staff didn’t seem happy Ages for food to arrive and even longer for the bill Food lovely as always
Consistent quality of food and sound wine list. Warm welcome from staff.
Delicious & affordable 3 course set lunch and wine. Attentive and friendly staff.
As ever smiling service consistently good food and great value for money!
Amazing food and service as always, had a fabulous experience again, cant wait to come back
Lovely meal and drinks and whilst the service was good it was a little slow.
Busy Friday night so service a little slower than usual but not a problem. Food was really lovely!
Cote delivers consistently, straighforward French menu, staff are always professional and pleasant. It is a grown up place (no blaring music!) which welcomes family groups and single diners equally.
Enjoyed a lovely evening and brought along some good friends to our favourite restaurant! Keep up the good work.
Great service as always - food spot on and warm welcome
Good value for money. Friendly and attentive staff. This Islington branch never disappoints.
Tasty food. Service could be better as not to attentive
Only complaint was when I got the bill you had automatically added your 12.5% tip... I was not given the option to change it or decline it.
THIS COULD BE HEAVEN IF IT HAD MORE STAFF …….WHEN IT IS BUSY THE GUYS ARE RUN OFF THEIR FEET AND THEY ARE WORKING FLAT OUT TAKING THE FLACK WHEN THINGS GO SLOW
My favourite Cote in London great staff, great food, great ambiance!
Pancake Day at Côte - "a crêpe for every occasion" said the e-mail. So my wife and I booked a table. it was rather quiet when we arrived and as we looked over the menu we were rather dismayed to find just the one savoury pancake - a mushroom and spinach offering. we asked if there were any more but a very dismissive waitress said no and that she knew nothing of the pancake day e-mail. We drank our very nice Breton cider and both ordered the same dish. At least there were two dessert pancakes to follow, and very nice they were too, but that is a far cry from a crêpe for every occasion. Not helped by the very slow service and no one bothering to replace our candle that burned out very early in the evening. No wonder it was almost empty. A pity, because I have normally enjoyed coming to Côte but it will now be very much at the bottom of my list.
Unusually poor service for Cote. We needed to remind the staff that we were waiting for service on more than one occasion.
Good food, great service and a hospitable atmosphere. This was a repeat visit after an Almeida matinee and just right as an opportunity to reflect on a fine play over a relaxed meal and wine!
Visited with family for brunch on my birthday. Great service, lovely choice of food from breakfast menu and enjoyed the complementary Fizz Royale to kick off my celebrations!
I highly recommend this restaurant. Lovely food, ample choice of wine, great service and all fairly priced. I have dined here before and chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with friends and everyone had a very enjoyable evening.
Really enjoyed the Roasted Pork Belly and received excellent service. The complimentary Blood Orange Martini went down well and was a great start to the meal.
Food great as always Staff always seem to lose interest when asking for the bill
We found the waitress a bit rude and unfriendly . We had also an offer for 2 free cocktails when we booked the table but because only 1 adult had chosen the A La Carte menu she did not let that adult have the offer unless we both ate A La Carte . Service was a bit hit and miss . The food was good but ambience and service were lacking
We had a lovely lunch, the staff were very welcoming and food was fantastic,
Service a bit variable. Don't know what the noise level rating means: does 5* mean noisy or quiet? It was quite noisy.
The set menu is very good value, and the service friendly and prompt. The food was a little more average on this occasion then previous times, but still tasty.
Really well presented and tasty food, My wife and I enjoyed our valentines evening very much
Great service as ever - very friendly. Free cocktail was delicious. Our vegetarian main meals were not that good though - my partner's was lacking in any flavour and personally, after tasting it I would not have eaten it - and mine was just ok. However, we were not charged for my partner's food and the staff were really lovely and very apologetic. I could not fault their response. So in balance it's still a place we will return to - I just hope the chef improves their veggie recipes!
We had lunch today at Cote Islington. The food was good but the service was very slow Seemed as though there was a staff shortage.
Great food, good value for money and friendly service. Lovely experience overall.
I booked a table for five on the eve of 6 Feb 2020. I was the only person of our party to order steak frites. The first mouthful of the steak was inedible and I had to spit it out. The second mouthful from a different section of the steak was also inedible. It was like an old piece of leather. I returned the meal and I asked for the fish. That night I had food poisoning and had very little sleep. I am sure that this was caused by the steak. This is really not good enough from a respected resturant chain and you really need to up your game at this branch. Sincerely Derek Pike
Staff are always friendly and helpful. Would happily recommend Cote.
We ate from the prestige menu and had 2 courses each. I had mussels to start and they were plump and delicious with a tasty broth. My daughter had calamari and they were crispy and succulent. We both had rib eye for mains and the steak was cooked perfectly and the frites were crisp and not greasy. We had a bottle of Chateau Treviac, which at £22.95 was a bargain as it was a deep and serious wine. Service was impeccable and welcoming.
Absolutely amazing service!!!! Very friendly and professional!!! Food was delicious and well presented (also I am very happy to see more vegetarian and vegan options). Staff also kindly allow me to bring my birthday cake on the day and make it so special to even sing along happy birthday song at the table, this was so lovely!!!! Thank you for beautiful birthday atmosphere on our last visit at cote islington, we are looking forward to visiting this restaurant soon!!
Good meal and friendly staff. Would have liked to be left alone more to enjoy conversation with my friends though.
Delicious French cuisine, fish parmentier & creamed spinach - excellent.
Really lovely evening out. Welcoming staff , great food, best Calamari. Thank you Cote Islington.
The restaurant was very busy which meant service was slower than normal but the excellent food compensated.
