Côte Lewes

Have lost count of how many times we have breakfasted, lunched and dined at Cote, Lewes but always par excellence. ALL the staff are brilliant.

The service was excellent, noise level really good, all the food except my steak from the steak frites was good and fresh. The steak frites was refunded without even asking. So rare to get such brilliant service.

Lovely meal as usual. Cote never fail to please and the staff are so courteous!

We had a great evening at Cote Lewes, all the staff are friendly and very professional,the decor and furniture has a 5 star look and feel to it and our food was fantastic, all 5 of us enjoyed our starters, mains and deserts, we will be returning to Cote Lewes very soon and would highly recommend Cote Lewes to friends and family.

Love Cote, always have a great meal in interesting surroundings.

Really nice atmosphere, excellent friendly service. The food was nice - not enormous portions. We had a bottle of cremant - which was a little pricey. Overall the price was reasonable for the fixed menu. A good experience, we will be back.

Lovely as ever. Disappointed that cloudy lemonade had been out of stock and also the non alcoholic beer on the menu was also out of stock. The server was very apologetic Would suggest also having vegetarian menu available on the table, to save time having to disturb the server, which was extremely busy That said was an amazing time x

As always we had a lovely lunch at Cote in Lewes. Esther our waitress was lovely efficient and informative. The whole team worked so well together during a busy lunch. We had lunch with a very good friend who had just had a bereavement. Sam the manager on duty knew our friends and his compassion sensitivity kindness and generosity puts your faith back into human kindness . Treating customers as individuals and not a number on a table. Thank you Sam and your team.

No Christmas tree or Christmas lights in the restaurant made it look gloomy ! We were very disappointed that the restaurant had not been dressed for Christmas. This particular premises in Lewes has two old fireplaces that could quite easily been decorated with classic green foliage garlands and soft white lights. A lost opportunity that would certainly make us think twice about visiting again during the Christmas season.

I have been to Cote several times and generally found it to be very good. On this occasion however I found my fish dish (Parmentier) to be over cooked and the prawns in particular to be tough. It was almost as if had been reheated. I would go to Cote again but would not choose this dish.

Seated in small cold room , no other occupants. Two or three times asked about heating, kept my coat round my shoulders! Starters ok, cassoulet v disappointing , overall our worst experience in this restaurant, unfortunately it occurred on my 75th birthday!!!

It was Xmas Eve Lunch and the Lewes Cote Brasserie was busy with several parties alongside other diners.We had our First Course but had to wait over an hour for the mains after this. Whilst I would normally be fuming at such delay today I did not .The atmosphere was brilliant, the food when it did come was superb(as usual) the staff were genuinely apologetic and when our bill arrived we were given a discount ( which we had not asked for or expected!) I LOVE COTE ,have been many times before and will continue to come many times again. Things can sometimes go wrong,just go with it !!

I had to send my meal back as the meat was so hard to cut, Gristle veins?? by then We didn’t have enough time to wait for a new meal, plus I didn’t want the same thing to happen. We were there abt 1 1/2 hours for a romantic Xmas eve meal, for nearly a whole hour we had staff dragging chairs and tables across the floor, rearranging for the nx sitting, this happen 3/4 times as they kept setting them up wrong, it was like Piccadilly Circus. the noise and disturbance was unacceptable
