Côte Newbury

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Côte last night. The service was great. The food from the starter to the dessert was top quality. Our steak was cooked to perfection too. Very happy with the evening. Thank you.

extremely noisy - everyone was shouting to hear each other - the whole surroundings are hard surfaced and therefore reflective of all sounds. Not a pleasant experience. The food was good, but lacked finesse. I would hesitate to recommend the restaurant.

Lovely food, complimentary gin great staff. Stater was a bit slow however they were very busy and we had arrived early for our table. Definitely recommend a visit. We will be going again

Food is always good. Service great too. Wine is quite expensive for not great wines. Try to come here once a month especially for the dishes of the month.

Where do we start...supposed to be a nice mothers day meal. Waited 15 mins for waiter to take order. It had been a busy day so some food had run out from mains which was no problem but also no flatbread we found the found out. Then no flute glasses for kir- which was flat when it eventually arrived in wine glasses and we ordered kir / kir royale but were same. One of our breads arrived virtually thrown in table, but no plates. I raised issues with front desk and other bread arrived with main courses- which were actually good. We didn't order anything else no adjustment to bill and should not have paid the 12.5% tip but felt for cooks, which were let down by front of house. We wont be back anytime soon and have plenty other options locally. On and out in under and hour, not a memorable experience

As a regular customer I regret the food and the service was not up to it’s usual high standard. It was a pity as we took our grandson with us. If it was our first visit to the restaurant we probably would not have gone again. We are back again this Friday with friends when we hope it will be back to the good food and service that we have come to expect from Cote Brasserie.

Party of 6 and the service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble. The food was also fabulous, plenty of it and it was delicious. No complaints from anyone. Will defiantly be returning.

Consistently good food for a chain restaurant. Let down by the table we were given by the kitchen door and a noisy chap on a nearby table - not the restaurants fault! Good service & we will be back

The set lunch menu is excellent offering good choices. Newbury is a good town for a day out and Cote is in a great position on the main street. Staff are pleasant.

We enjoyed a very tasty meal and that was artistically well presented - all 3 courses and 4 different selections. As this was a Family Easter Celebration which also incorporated a Birthday & belated Mother's Day celebrations it was made extra special with the Complimentary Easter 75 cocktail. The service was great, however , the main meal was haddock, and it was from frozen fish, really, I would expect the fresh fish for this price. I was a bit tasteless. However, I really enjoyed the starter-brochette with tomatoes. Thanks and regards,Inga

Whilst everything is good is Cote Newbury since becoming a Vegan your menu is terribly restricted. I can only ever have risotto or salad. Surely you can come up with some interesting Vegan options?

Having had a slightly disappointing experience on our last visit, we had a great meal last night. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The food was all great and overall we were very happy with the meal. We have had our faith restored in Cote and hope to visit again before too long!

Lovely dining experience despite booking on Father’s Day. Very polite waiter, food was delicious, the only thing I can criticise, which is really not a problem for some people, was the wine glasses. They have one size glass for all the wine, so if you order a large red, your glass is filled up to almost the top which is not what you’d want with red wine as it needs room to breathe. So that’s was a bit disappointing and we just had to order a whole bottle so we could fill the glasses less..😉

To whom it may concern, I booked a table online not having been out for some time due to having a newborn in the household so we were really looking forward too it. Arriving and being seated we where not happy with our table as it is in the middle of the restaurant and walk way to and from the kitchen. We requested a different table and where only offer the option by the dessert station which seamed no different from being a relaxing environment for having a dinner out. The food was good and service not any issue. I just feel that there were other tables empty that was more relaxing than the 2 offered to us. I will not be coming back as I feel that we could have had a better evening out more relaxing somewhere els if we where offered a better seating table. Regards, Emma

One of our meals wasn’t prepared and was late albeit in 5 minutes but made the other meals cold as we waited for everyone to eat , the drinks were delivered and were incorrect but soon put correctly . Paying by cash we would have expected to have received the change albeit only 30p but that should have been up to us to give especially as the service charge had already been added !!! Little things but these do affect the overall enjoyment .

It was amazing. The service was great, our waitress was fantastic, it was great ti have a laugh with the waitress when i tild her about my favourite dessert and that i wouldve licked the dish if i was alone. Thankyou ever so much for helping me make my other half's birthday special ☺☺ we will be back. The waitress is an absolute credit to the establishment. She deserves a raise. 6 stars for everything as everything was just amazing. X

Lovely food, great service and warm atmosphere. Easy to book a table. Staff helped out with table decorations for birthday. Really love the early bird menu, it's nice to be able to afford to go out for dinner somewhere nice.

Our waiter was very friendly and the food was delicious. Had a really lovely time celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. The set menu is brilliant value for the quality of the food. A great evening out.

Food was great as always but service wasn’t great. Felt like we were forgotten about and had to get up and ask for service a couple of times, it wasn’t even busy. Then had the optional service charge added without us saying which was quite cheeky.

I booked a table for 8 well in advance, and a little bit disappointed with the time getting served with drinks & food, plus not happy that you don’t serve draft beer, and only very expensive bottled beer, £3.50 for a third of a bit is ridiculous. But have to say that we all enjoyed the food. My wife and I have had many lunches at both Reading & Newbury, so suggested to our friends that we should all meat for a meal at Newbury, prior to going to the Corn Exchange, but not sure if we will come in the evening again, as there are many other restaurants to choose from.

A particularly pleasant branch of Cote, giving extremely good food with excellent value for money. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. We will undoubtedly return again when next we are going to the Watermill Theatre at Bagnor.

I took my teenage children out to dinner and all three of us thoroughly enjoyed our perfectly cooked and very tasty meals. Our drinks, Rhubarb Martinis and cloudy lemonade, were delicious and all food abd dribk was good value. We were also impressed with the courteous and efficient waiters. We will be back!

Very disappointing my other half took me for Valantines meal as he only comes here for weekends I ordered a Fillet Streak very well done, it was red in the middle so o sent it back and they cooked the outside but the Inside was still red so I did not eat, we were given a reduction an the bill, however our evening was ruined.

Always have a great meal here and the service is very good. We will definitely be going back again for more wonderful food ... chocolate mousse is the best

Thoroughly enjoyable evening. The restaurant was busy which is always a good sign and helps add to the atmosphere. The service was good, attentive without being overbearing and the right level of humour. The food choices were extensive and all sounded lovely and indeed our choices were. Thank you - a nice evening with our daughter
