Lovely lunch today. Greeted with smiles by Wale and served promptly, efficiently and with charm by 'B'. Altogether, a most pleasant experience. Thank you Cote. Best restaurant in Newbury!

A great meal with excellent service. No option for dairy free desserts though apart from lemon sorbet which I also have an allergy to. Dark chocolate mousse in a French restaurant should not have cream in, but this was the only disappointment.

Of all the many people who go to Côte Brasserie in Newbury, the manager remembered us and was very charming. The food was good as usual and we had a very pleasant evening.

Fabulous food, great choice,great gluten free menu and hugely generous portions - the calamari starter was enough for 5 of us! and a great atmosphere. Thank you- an amazing Mother’s Day lunch.

Lovely warm welcome- I visited with my 2 sons in tow. It was busy, Fathers Day!! Busy atmosphere and some pretty poorly behaved kids using tables and chairs as climbing frames!!! Staff maintained their humour (a bit more than me anyhow!!) Service was swift and the food spot on. Thank you

Complimentary cocktail looked amazing. Tasted ok/average - would not pay for one though. Cote were very accommodating as I’d booked and cancelled tables to get the offer!! Lovely lady on reception - very chatty and welcoming. Service at table was very slow. Took quite a while to get water, drinks and to be asked our food other. We did pay device charge...but regrettably. Reception service great...but table service poor. On reflection we shouldn’t have paid this ‘added on’ charge. Don’t like the fact it’s automatically added to the bill. Love your salmon starts! Lamb chops were great too. Your food never disappoints.

Very disappointing visit this time. Usually good. Food and service very mediocre. We waited on arrival for 5 mins before being acknowledged and the front of house woman's approach to customer service left a lot to be desired.

As a regular customer I recommend this restaurant for the delicious food. My experience was given only 4 stars today as my mackerel starter had too many fish bones, unpleasant to eat. Also we declined coffe and dessert but we were still finishing our drinks when the waitress presented us with the bill, unrequested. The restaurant had plenty of free tables so I fail to understand why she did this, it made us feel rushed out.

The Rhubarb martini was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals.

Very friendly and helpful staff, they made us feel very welcome. The food was tasty and good value for money. We will return next time we are in Newbury.

Excellent food, we both had the rib eye steak which was done to perfection. We got there at 8 pm a d it was very busy and the staff were busy too, but pleasant and apologised for the short wait It was very noisy where we were sitting, no curtains!!

A wonderful meal as usual. We took advantage of the free martini cocktail which was delicious. We have been abroad for a month and it was such a pleasure to know we could come here as soon as we came back. The only down point was that a waiter (new I think) tipped a glass of wine over which splattered my husband's tee-shirt. Luckily it was the white one not the red!

A family meal out on Mother's Day. Great service and the quality of food was as good as usual, even with how busy it was. The only thing I'd change is if the children's menu could have a couple of puddings to add on (ice cream or fruit salad) as the adult portions are just too big.

We were greeted warmly and a lady assisted with our coats, Baby buggy and high chair. The food was lovely and the set menu is fantastic for choice and price. The service was ok, but not very personable and we had to either wait quite a bit for someone to serve us each time or we had to get the waitresses attention. It was virtually empty, so the service was slow in my opinion. also, I detest restaurants adding a service charge of 12.5% to the bill. If you ask for it to be removed, you then get a barrage of questions about why?? We are not in America; tips should be at the customer discretion. Adding it to the bill and claiming it’s ‘dicressionary’ isn’t the same thing.

An excellent dining experience with a great level of friendly service and food cooked perfectly - steak just how I like it ! Cote Newbury is very reliable as an eating venue which is exactly what you want after a long day.

Great Mother’s Day Champagne breakfast, food was hot & fresh, service very attentive, excellent value for money . Definitely will be returning soon. Thank you Cote Newbury😀

Lovely range of vegetarian options on the separate menu, puy lentil casseroles, butternut squash cake and more. It's a shame you don't promote it in the restaurant, I just happened to see it online and ask. Although staff gave the impression that might be on purpose. But with 4 out of 6 of us being veggie it was great to have a wide choice.

A great lunch, just a few mistakes like no side plate for bread, then orange juice instead of apple, we were also charged for the ‘complimentary’ martinis after showing my email but all sorted quickly, the duck was excellent too. We’ll be back.

Food not great. Manager good but I wouldn't go again as not worth the money. Had to ask for a drink after sitting down for 10 mins

Lovely lunch with attentive, professional yet friendly service, as we’ve come to expect from this chain. We were four adults popping in for early dinner after visiting Highclere and chose between us the Moules frites, Steak frites and half chicken. All were delicious. Definitely recommend.

We decided to book the wine pairing Valentines menu and were delighted. The service is excellent from entering Cote to leaving. You are welcomed attended never rushed and the quality of food we received was excellent. Can’t say any better than that

A very pleasant meal after a trip to the theatre. We always enjoy the food which is much nicer than the Italian food and in my opinion more authentic.

All lovely as usual. Please don’t ask me to write more each time. It was lovely. How much more do I need to say after I have done all,the other “stars”. It puts people off.

Food was as good as ever, but the upstairs seating area was new to us and the atmosphere was not as good as downstairs, more than server would have helped.

Nice early evening meal. Good service. Food standard Cote rarely disappointing and pretty good value for money pre 7pm. Wine choices ok some prices a bit steep.

Good was good, but the service was poor. We waited 20+ minutes for a drink on arrival. Seated upstairs, felt like we were ignored for long periods.
