I try to dine at Cote Newbury wheneverI am in the area. The food and wine are consistently of a high standard.

A warm friendly atmosphere, delicious food with enough time between courses to really enjoy the evening temping us to another course

Poor service. My main course was missing and I had to ask where it was. The waitress thought it would be acceptable to leave me waiting and try and rush another meal out. When I finally received it, I had to send it back as it wasn't cooked properly. If I had been told my food had been missed in error and an apology that would have been fine. We also ordered 2 glasses of wine, one was cold the other was warm. Food was great but I won't be returning as I felt the evening was ruined by the fact that we had to keep asking for things. Not the level of service I have received in the past!

I am a regular visitor to Cote Newbury however over recent visits I have noticed standards slipping. The decor is looking tired in places, especially the upstairs toilets. Chipped paint on the stair rail, a broken tap, no soap in the dispenser and no toilet roll in one of the toilets.

It was far too cold in the restaurant .. the main restaurant may have been warmer than the glass fronted section that I was sat in . I can’t enjoy food when I am tending myself with the cold . Food was lovely though 👍

Fantastic evening. Our waiter was great, we were celebrating my daughter's birthday and he went the extra mile offering us a free drink, and a free desert for the birthday girl. Friendly and professional service and delicious food. I haven't been to Cote for a long time but will definitely return again soon after our recent experience.

I was disappointed. I had mentioned that it was my sisters birthday when I booked the table, but the staff member who greeted us was unfriendly and never said Happy Birthday to my sister. The hostess kept repeating herself about the fact that we were only entitled to a complimentary martini if we ordered from the à la carte menu. Our cocktails, water and main courses all arrived at the same time. The staff appeared stressed and disorganised. I eat in Cote restaurants on a regular basis and this was one of the worst I’ve experienced.

Quality of food, ambience and value for money was as ever excellent. The restaurant always appears to be understaffed resulting in long waits for service. The staff work incredibly hard but there is just not enough of them. There appears to be a very high staff turn over and this may be caused by the pressure of trying to do too much with too few.

Great food which had plenty of flavour however our entrees were served at the same time as our starter. Wine was good value for money but my lager was very expensive. 12.5% automatic gratuity should be 10% in my opinion. We take breakfast a lot in this establishment and it's far better value for money that said our evening meal wasn't bad and we would go again.

We were first timers here and it won’t be the last. The service from the moment we walked in the door was impeccable. Every course of food was delicious and the cocktail and wine perfect. We chose the mushroom risotto , sea bass and sirloin steak . Started with the goat cheese and appetizer and ended with creme caramel and raspberry and lemon sorbet. What a treat ! Try it you won’t be disappointed !

We had a lovely time and couldn’t fault the food or service we received. However I was a little disappointed, my mother and I ordered the chocolate fondant which you did not have. Which was disappointing

We visit Cote on a regular basis and usually have no complaints. However our visit today was disappointing and not up to Cote usual standards. First of all we had to return a dirty cup and then a dirty fork in addition to this when our pot of tea arrived it cane without a lid. Apparently they had run out of teapot lids Consequently had to ask for another pot of tea as it got cold very quickly. The food was not very hot. . Service was very slow and on Requesting the bill no one actioned it and after about 20 mins we had to go and ask for it again! We had brought friends with us. who had never been before and came with us on our recommendation. Sadly they will not be returning. Also the fire alarm kept going off every time someone came through the door.
