Only one critism the server cleared a plate from another table and brought it over to ours and then cleared our plates. I don't wish to see another tables discarded food!

Friendly staff and good food. We loved the complimentary cocktails. It was unusually not busy, which was fine with us (probably due to first day back at school).

An excellent two course lunch for 4 people with attentive staff in clean and pleasant surroundings. We shall look forward to using Cote of Newbury again.

I always enjoy the Cote experience. It is consistently good in all aspects service, food and atmosphere, excellent thankyou.

After many visits over the past few years we could not imagine a better dining experience. Quality food and friendly service always. We try to vary our choice of selection each time and leave very happy with everything you offer. A wonderful bottle of Merlot today accompanied a great range of starter dishes, leaving room for an excellent desert experience. Gordon

Professional and polite staff and and an excellent meal at great value

The table was dirty that we were sat at where something had splattered on it and all the napkins. The person who sat us down changed one napping but we then had to ask somebody else to change the rest and also wipe the table down and change some of the cutlery

Always an enjoyable experience dining at Cote, Newbury. Consistantly good quality food with good service. The crab with avocado and capers with sourdough bread was delicious, as was the charcuterie board for starters. The chargrilled salmon with ratatoui and the fish parmentier with minted peas were excellent main choices. A really enjoyable lunch on a very hot bank holiday Sunday!

We both were disappointed with our main meals my husbands duck was over rested and was dry , my chicken with mushroom was very tasty but sadly wasn’t hot , you manager was very efficient and dealt with our problem .

It was a nice meal the food was good and it arrived in a timely manner. Sadly we had to ask 3 Times for the Bill. In the end i said we pay or we leave. We then paid! Other than that we were overall happy.

Great service & nice food all served in a lovely atmosphere.

Some of it was good- chicken was underdone. The wine which was over £5 a glass was really awful.

Food was excellent, however 1 starter was forgotten, mains were fine, restaurant extremely busy, one dessert requested eventually came, took ages for coffee to come, wanted to pay bill, waiter was great apologised for delay as manager has to deal with cash, manager eventually came to the table and said I understand you want to pay, we explained the cash had been given hence she returned to main desk . On top of this my online booking said we were entitled to a free bottle of wine for which I registered for and waiter said fine. But my sister was charged please explain!

Just had a really enjoyable meal out with friends, great food, good wine with very friendly and helpful staff. One of the best and most reliable restaurants in Newbury.

Always enjoy breakfast and service is really good and coffee nice and strong. Also there was 8 of us all with new borns / pram and they made sure there was plenty of room for us around the table .

I was meeting with friends who were travelling from various places and Newbury was convenient for all of us. We had an excellent meal with great service.

Historically my experience of dinning at Cote has always been excellent and enjoyable. I know whichever branch I choose I will be guaranteed great food and service. However last night, a birthday celebration, was not good. We ordered from the a la carte menu and received a complimentary drink as part of the August promotions. The starters were satisfactory, the mains, Cote de boeuf ( the most expensive item in the menu) arrived as a platter of fat, bone and very little meat. The plate resembled a mishmash of scraps, certainly not a prime cut and certainly ( if we had been able to pick through the mess) not enough edible meat to feed two people. A huge disappointment. Staff were apologetic, the meat was returned to the kitchen. We re ordered a rib-eye steak each from the a la carte menu. It arrived and was enjoyed. Overall it was not a happy experience. A disjoint evening with the shine taken off what should have been a relaxed, happy evening. Management did not offer any form of recompense which was a shame.

Wonderful service and food as always. And as it was our anniversary they gave us both a complimentary glass of champagne very nice touch fully recommended
