Côte Newbury

We go frequently to Côte and are usually very happy, but on this occasion service was very slow and it was difficult to attract any attention. Presumably just short staffed on a Sunday evening.

One of our favourite places for breakfast and, as always, absolutely delicious and all the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

As good as ever and the food was excellent, thank you.

Tonight was a combination of birthday, anniversary and one year clear of cancer celebrations. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Great service, delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere 😉

Generally very good with a warm welcome. Waitress was a little grumpy to start with as we had children and needed time to sort our order out. She was reasonably attentive until it transpired that the CEO of Cote was eating at the next table. They were then lavished with support but we were quite badly neglected. I would suggest it was better for staff to look after the ordinary loyal supporter rather than the CEO but there you go. When we wanted to order our dessert there was no one around and we had to flag a waitress down to do so. In the meantime our 8 year old developed a nose bleed and I have to say your staff were very good indeed. Very supportive and helpful so thank you to those who helped. We received our bill with the desserts which is what we requested but then there was no one to pay so we paid on exit which was fine. So an enjoyable meal but not the most fantastic service with regard to food service but excellent from the health aspect.

Second cote visit this week. Always very good. My only quibble was that my dish haddock was pre peppered. Not great when indont like pepper!!! Would have got 5 stars

We arrived late, due to an oversight on my part. But this was not problem, the manager could not have been better about it and we had a wonderful evening with very good food.

A very good meal as always. Service was great but the loos need to be upgraded. They are now looking old and tired. Not in keeping with the rest of the restaurant. That apart we look forward to our next visit.

Really lovely food as always and fantastic, attentive service. We love this place and the Newbury branch does not feel like a chain restaurant ever - we'll be back!

We’ve come to depend on Cote for family treats and celebratory dinners and we’ve had exceptional food and service 9 out of the last 10 times we’ve been. We are all fans of French cuisine and have never been disappointed with the menu, even though we have two family members with awkward diets. My only plea would be to stop using cream in the dark chocolate mousse - a true French chef would throw their hands up in horror at such a thing...

Everything about Cotes is great. The menu, the food, the staff and the ambience. We go as often as we can and are never disappointed. We go back again in two days, we love it so much.

Lovely food I received an email showing this months early bird offer which made me decide to book and take my husband and son for the first time, lovely food very friendly staff that can’t do enough for you and I tried the frozen fruit with warm milk chocolate as I hadn’t tried it before I wasn’t disappointed delicious we will be back soon.

Although we were a big group at a busy time on a Friday night the staff got to us quickly and we had excellent service throughout the night.

Cote Brasserie never fails to please. We enjoyed the food, and the service was excellent; attentive, but not intrusive. It was very good value for money, and we will return again.

Excellent welcome and we sat exactly as I requested, which was perfect!! We were given enough space, after being shown to our table, to order a drink then take our menu choice. My husband chose calamari & ravioli, which he said were excellent & beautifully cooked too! My choice was salmon rillettes, which was divine followed by poullet grille, again amazing flavours, with wild mushrooms too!! Would definitely return......again......& again.........& again!!!

We always have incredible service at this restaurant and this time we went for a special occasion and the service went up another level. The food (fillet steak) was incredible and cooked exactly how I’d asked. The staff are always friends and never leave you waiting. Can’t thank them enough.

Great quality food, lots of flavour, friendly & helpful staff all at good prices. I think a larger selection of bottled beers is needed however

Very easy and straightforward using the online booking service, we had an early evening booking so took advantage of the lunchtime/early evening menu and had 2 courses for £11.95, both of which were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Friendly and efficient service from helpful staff who were more than happy to accommodate our wishes when we wanted to move after realising we were right next to the kitchen. Would definitely recommend and will be back!
