We were so glad to be able to return to Cote Newcastle for breakfast. The staff were faultless and our food was lovely.

It's good to be back at Cote. I was one of those who added my name to the email list to be told when Newcastle was reopening. When I received that email, I booked a table for last night. Subsequently I received another email offering a free cocktail if I booked now. But I had already booked, being a loyal customer. On arrival, we said that we would like one of the cocktails, I had a G&T instead. We told the waiter that we had booked before the email offering the complimentary cocktail, and he said that was no problem, we could have one. At the end of the meal when the bill arrived we were told we would have to pay for the complimentary cocktail as we had not booked our table via the link on the email. No, being loyal customers and wishing to support the reopening, we had already booked. Our support was rewarded by having to pay for the cocktail that other, less loyal, customers received free of charge! Next, we asked for the sourdough bread to eat while we drank our drinks and read the menu. The waiter wanted to know if we were ready to order, we were not. He was back quite quickly so we did order, food and wine. The wine came immediately, but we were hardly started on the pre-dinner drinks and bread. The bread was served without side plates, and the butter was frozen and rock hard, not a good start. Then very quickly our starters arrive while we were still enjoying the bread and drinks. A bit rushed. But, moaning aside, the starters were very nice, we enjoyed them. The main course arrived very soon after, a bit too quickly again, but again, they were very good. I had the Beef Bourguignon, a Cote favourite for me, and it was very nice. The waiter then returned to ask if we had finished our mains, when were were still eating! Soon after we actually finished he came back, removed the plates and brought the dessert menu. He was back quite quickly, again, to ask what we would like. We said we would like five or ten minutes to actually digest the main course before we ordered desserts, suspecting they might arrive quite quickly! I think he was back in about four minutes, so we ordered and not surprisingly, the desserts arrived very quickly. But they were very nice. Sadly, Covid to blame of course, the restaurant was not very busy, especially sad as it was a Saturday night. This allowed the waiter to be over attentive and the kitchen staff to cook for us without delay. That all having been said, Cote is a great restaurant, the food was very nice and we were pleased to be back. But we quite like to have an evening out, and not just an hour and fifteen minutes. A little tip here: Be less attentive so I am in the restaurant longer and I am bound to need a second bottle of wine! We didn't need it last night. The staff though were nice, friendly and certainly attentive. They were fully PPD equipped and social distancing was in full effect. So great to back at Cote, but please can we have side plates and a more relaxed service next time. Thanks again, and see you soon.

Always a lovely brunching experience. I highly rate the vegetarian breakfast as it's bursting with fresh food and colour. I haven't found anywhere else that does such a good vegetarian breakfast. Fabulous coffee too.

It is always a great experience as the food and wines are a joy, the friendly but unobtrusive service adds to the pleasure, and the comfortable, relaxed brasserie setting contribute to the atmosphere - it's rather like a quick trip back to France right in the heart of Newcastle. All success to the company for making it so easy to boost the spirit after more than six months of covid restrictions. A huge thank you!

Great to have you back. Lovely calamari for starter followed by the always reliable pork. Wife had Prawn Gratinee and Beef Bourguignon, couldn't finish it, so filling. Great food, relaxed atmosphere and the best staff in the world. Oh, and those Rhubarb cocktails!

Had a lovely lunch at Cote today. It was lovely to see all the staff and nice to feel you were being looked after regarding COVID regulations. The food was delicious as usual however, it did say on internet breakfast menu was on (Brunch) unfortunately, this was not the case. It was just I had built myself up to have one of their breakfast. Best in the area. What we had was very nice so it isn’t really a complaint - just wish it was back👍

One of my favourite places to dine. I can rarely fault any aspect of Côté and standards are consistently high. It's probably the only place where I don't mind paying the 12.5% gratuity. Beautiful food, served by lovely people in pleasant surroundings... with reasonable prices and plenty of choice on the menu. What more could you ask for?!

Everything was lovely today. We had wonderful food. My husband had the whole sea bream and I had the sirloin. Both were done to perfection. The steak was exactly as I requested medium rare. Service was superb and they still do a superb red wine. Cannot fault anything. Made our day perfect thank you Cote.

Fabulous food. Will definitely be back. We've converted some friends who are now fans also. The only negative was that we booked using the voucher for a free bottle of wine, and were disappointed to learn that we couldn't have it with the set menu.

This was my second visit and it was equally as good as the first. It is a very welcoming restaurant with a very nice ambience. Service is consistently good and the food is excellent and reallly good value all round. I will be back and will recomend it to friends.

Really enjoyed our visit. We arrived just before 7pm and were still offered the early dining menu. Decided to have the three courses and have to say all the courses were good. Hubby decided to have steak and said it was one of the best steaks he has had in a long time. I opted for the seafood linguine and it was very good. Also enjoyed a really good bottle of wine. Can not fault the food or the service. Overall, a great night.

Visited Cote on the 15th June with my mam and sister, food was average. But our waiter was very arrogant and had a bit of an attitude and not helpful at all. Don't think I will be going back.

First visit to Cote food was excellent staff were lovely and very helpful seating very well set out thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We would recommend Cote to our family and friends and will defiantly be coming back again.

I eat regularly here but first time in the evening. Good intimate surroundings. Meal was served within 20 minutes. Good food. Just the right amount. Salmon was cooked just right. My colleague had parmentier and again well cooked. Food well presented. Waiting staff were very efficient and unobtrusive. Top experience as usual

Great food, nice wine and great service! We had a lovely quiet table in the area at the back so we weren't crowded and didn't have to be aware of how loud we laughed!
