Côte Newcastle

Côte Newcastle has long been my 'go-to' restaurant and I am delighted that it has re-opened. I have eaten there three times this week, twice with guests - so that probably conveys the extent of my appreciation of what the brasserie offers. It is always a great experience as the food and wines are a joy, the friendly but unobtrusive service adds to the pleasure, and the comfortable, relaxed brasserie setting contribute to the atmosphere - it's rather like a quick trip back to France right in the heart of Newcastle. All success to the company for making it so easy to boost the spirit after more than six months of covid restrictions. A huge thank you!

Great to have you back. Lovely calamari for starter followed by the always reliable pork. Wife had Prawn Gratinee and Beef Bourguignon, couldn't finish it, so filling. Great food, relaxed atmosphere and the best staff in the world. Oh, and those Rhubarb cocktails!

Felt safe and comfortable. Great food, andservice. Will be back soon.

I love this restaurant. Can’t fault the staff. So pleasant and helpful. The foods gorgeous. Been going to this branch for a while now and was so happy it’s reopened. I’ve booked to return next week with another of my good friends. Already decided what I’m having. Can’t wait ..... I’d like to have given more stars for the service (actually everything)...

Wonderful to be back. The food was as delicious as ever, the staff were friendly and efficient and the environment felt covid-safe without intruding on the experience.

Had a lovely lunch at Cote today. It was lovely to see all the staff and nice to feel you were being looked after regarding COVID regulations. The food was delicious as usual however, it did say on internet breakfast menu was on (Brunch) unfortunately, this was not the case. It was just I had built myself up to have one of their breakfast. Best in the area. What we had was very nice so it isn’t really a complaint - just wish it was back👍

One of my favourite places to dine. I can rarely fault any aspect of Côté and standards are consistently high. It's probably the only place where I don't mind paying the 12.5% gratuity. Beautiful food, served by lovely people in pleasant surroundings... with reasonable prices and plenty of choice on the menu. What more could you ask for?!

Everything was lovely today. We had wonderful food. My husband had the whole sea bream and I had the sirloin. Both were done to perfection. The steak was exactly as I requested medium rare. Service was superb and they still do a superb red wine. Cannot fault anything. Made our day perfect thank you Cote.

Good choice of food and drink. Excellent service from all the staff. Only problem is the noise levels when tables of more than two as the acoustics are poor

Another visit and this time pan fried haddock and swordfish steak for my colleague. Excellent flavours and again great service. As usual unobtrusive. Consistency in food and service makes this a great food experience.

My favourite restaurant in Newcastle. I have been every month since it opened. Today was the first time we have eaten from the al a carte menu. I had the duck, cooked to perfection, I would highly recommend it. Looking forward to next month already. Service and staff were as always, excellent.

Staff professional and friendly. Food was good, we chose off the special 3 course menu for £18.95. Good value for money. Also had a bottle of wine. Think the additional 12.5 % service charge added automatically is cheeky and high.

Having lost my sense of taste over a month ago it was nice to partially regain it during lunch today. Thank you to the kitchen for the best creme brûlée’s in the northeast.

The staff/food made my Birthday lunch a very special day.

Enjoyed pre show supper.Excellent value set menu.Both enjoyed our starters & elected to pay extra for steaks but sadly mine was fatty.My companions was perfect though. Staff are attentive & personable.Will return.

Main was really good (we had pork belly, Tuna salad and one of the chicken dishes) and nice relaxing atmosphere. A little disappointed with 2 of the starters (Prawn and flatebread but really liked the calamari). Good selection of different dishes, good for vegetarians. Only problem - asked one of the dishes to exclude creme but they were unable to accommodate, which question the sauces are pre-made.

We love Cote Guildford and were looking forward to visiting Cote Newcastle.The consistency of the dishes served are one of the selling points of Cote, however on this occasion we were disappointed that the asparagus in both our main courses was under cooked and the risotto was undercooked also. The general ambiance wasn't anywhere near as good as that of the Guildford branch. I understand there was a rugby tournament on and the town was very busy and all restaurants had been full to capacity all afternoon, so will give Cote the benefit of the doubt as we arrived at 5pm and it felt like the lull after the storm. Hopefully our experience was just a one off as we're huge fans and we will return but will keep fingers crossed for a better experience.

We ate from the Prestige set menu on a busy Saturday evening. Food and wine lovely and excellent service as always. Good value and friendly staff.

I booked the table for four for my birthday after receiving an email offering free aperitifs. We were not offered the drinks - I had to ask for them twice - we had a trainee waiter and then an experienced one and then the trainee again - by the time we received the two free drinks it was after the main course and not really appropriate by then. We were overcharged for our food due to confusion over what was ordered on the set menu and the a la carte. The small portion of bread and olives had an extortionate charge. We did not feel the 12.5% service charge which was automatically included in the bill was justified.

I eat at Cote a lot and staff are wonderful and food is always gorgeous with a great choice.

Visited Cote on the 15th June with my mam and sister, food was average. But our waiter was very arrogant and had a bit of an attitude and not helpful at all. Don't think I will be going back.

Warm welcome , excellent food and customer service and value for money at Cote Brassiere. Restaurant is well organised and kept very clean by staff. Would like to have some French Music played such as Piaf and Zaz.

Really lovely warm welcoming restaurant- staff very friendly and attentive. Plenty of choice and different pricing menus for those eating early evening. The food was delicious and well presented with enough time between courses not to feel rushed. We had 3 courses each and no complaints about anything we were served. Would definitely return again as so much more to try. Well worth the money.

Brilliant, service was excellent, the food delicious, the Creme Caramel was fab. It was my first visit, but i will definitely return, and highly recommend to my friends and family. Thanks I had a lovely evening. 😊
