Côte Winchester

We enjoyed a really lovely meal for two to celebrate a birthday. Good service, a really good menu, great wines. The food was excellent - one of those occasions when you don't want to be disappointed - and we weren't.

After a warm and friendly greeting and being shown to our table on a raised level by a window, we were each presented with a glass of French 75 a refreshing mix of gin, sparkling wine and zesty lemon with a hint of sugar(complimentary because we were choosing from the À La Carte menu)Very pleasant too. I started with Homemade Crab Bisque served with baked Gruyère gougères(EXCELLENT) and Chris had Pissaladière Reblochon - traditional warm flatbread from Nice with caramelised onions Reblochon cheese and thyme which she liked very much. We both chose Côte de Veau Grilled - rose veal t-bone steak with frites, salade verte and a warm tarragon butter and shared a Ratatouille- sautéed aubergine, courgette and red peppers in Provençale sauce with baby spinach and extra virgin olive oil. The meat was outstanding in flavour and texture, and cooked medium rare as requested, although we probably wouldn’t go for the ratatouille again. I also enjoyed a glass of house red(Lagarde Rouge)with my meal. Service was friendly and efficient, Dan was helpful, and the background music was not intrusive. A thoroughly enjoyable Saturday lunch.

We had a lovely Mother’s Day lunch, although two of the options on starters were not available calamari animals which some of our family had already chosen. I appreciate it was Mother’s Day but service was very slow, main courses came out eventually which were good although the sides seem to let them down.The celeriac purée which accompanied the fillet steak was very dry and not a good acompliment to the dish. Overall our experience was good although not as good as usual.

I enjoy Cote every time I go. The food is super tasty, the service is always fab and the prices are reasonable. Definitely an easy choice to make

Winchester has many fine restaurants and Côte can take its place among them. In days of “Muzak”, fast dining and garish surroundings, it is good to have somewhere peaceful, unhurried with its emphasis on customers’ enjoyment, subtle but attentive service and reasonable prices from a varied, extensive menu. A very enjoyable dining experience.

Excellent lunch menu such good value for money. Enjoyed my friends birthday treat although a freebie of sparking wine for her would have been a nice touch.

My wife and I were hoping for a quiet romantic birthday meal, however we were put on the a table right next to a group of youngsters who were very loud. Staff should be aware that older couples prefer a relaxing quiet atmosphere when out dining.

Efficient service, friendly staff, and good food. Wine selection also good. Ideal for pre-Cinema. A good addition to the high streeet in Winchester. Keep it up!

Disastrous. Despite making a booking we were told that main courses would be at least 50 minutes when we ordered. As it turned out they had not appeared after 70 minutes so we left. Food was nowhere to be seen. Apologies offered by a manager but we weren’t going to be told of the extra delay if we hadn’t taken action. Don’t think we will be going back. The restaurant was packed and so noisy that it was hard to hear the waiter. There needs to be a rethink of how many tables you have.

Brilliant the food was wonderful and the service fantastic. The Hungarian lads as well as the part time Uni students are great. We often come and know them well.

We were shown to a great window seat. Calamari was excellent, steaks were very good. My pork belly was amazing. Service was great. A lovely afternoon spent in a lovely restaurant. Well done 😊

4 party table - 3 of which had the duck, all of which were cold. Didn't have the opportunity to raise this as a problem. Ordered 4 desserts, one of which was creme brûlée, of which 70% was caramelised. Asked for the entire topping to be caramelised - met with a huff and a puff. Overall we enjoy coming here but it was a disappointing experience.

Always love Cote, it is so consistent, which may sounds like faint praise but actually to deliver such fine food to a consistently high standard is a credit. Ever reliable like a favourite jumper, my wife and I will continue to come here for great service, great food and a great experience.

Our lunch was a delightful experience, the waiter was attentive but not over powering. Service was quick and we didn't have to wait too long between courses ............ another trip to this restaurant is certainly on the cards

We had a fabulous lunch at Côte Winchester. The welcome was very warm, and the staff charming. It was a birthday lunch for a friend, I had included that information in my booking online, nonetheless we were delighted and surprised to be served Kir Royals on the house on arrival. The food was delicious, and good value. We will all be back!! Thank you x

It was ok, but having booked I’d hoped we get a nicer table than one in the corner next to the staff exit. That said the waiting staff were (as always) lovely - the French gent who served us was very attentive. My steak was a bit overdone for medium rare but not by enough to make a fuss. My wife’s meal was very good.

Most enjoyable meal served by very friendly efficient staff. The duck and rib eye steak were very tasty followed by a delicious chocolate mousse . All accompanied with fantastic wines.

As always I enjoyed my visit to Cote. This time I visited with my friend Lucy after she finished work. It was a lovely way for her to relax and unwind after a stressful day.

Winchester Cote as usual didn't disappoint. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our ,meal, the ambience and the excellent service. Don't change anything at all.

Excellent service and food. Reasonable value. A bit noisy but tolerable. Friendly, efficient staff. We are regular diners at Cotes across the country and the Winchester staff are up there with the best. Thank you.

Cote Brasserie is by far the best chain restaurant group unless the restaurant at Winchester is better than the others. I dine there often and the food and service cannot be improved

Our favourite chain never fails to deliver on good and service whatever branch we visit. Today, delicious Calamari and a lovely Cote burger. Partner's prawn grstinee and Breton chicken, excellent. Efficient and friendly service, recommended.

Greeted by smiley staff, lovely atmosphere and yummy brunch. Côte always hits the spot with our family and friends. Great value for money and we will be back.

Hi – we had a really great evening at Cote Brasserie last night and will definitely return. There were 6 of us in our party and we visit Cote Brasserie a good number of times a year together, and separately too – it’s definitely a favoured restaurant of ours. However, last night’s experience was marred by lukewarm food. Up until last night, we’ve always had good hot food, so it must be either down to kitchen equipment last night, or kitchen staff, so we only pass this information to you… a) because you have asked for feedback, and b) we think the kitchen staff should know. I believe there were 3 or 4 soups ordered, two of which were lukewarm. Then there were 4 chicken Parmentier dishes ordered, all four were lukewarm and although tasty, were very disappointing. The member of staff attending our table took one of the chicken dishes away to heat it up, but by the time the wait staff returned, the rest of us with the chicken dishes were at least half way through. Having said all of the above, the staff were faultless and we were indeed compensated, for which we are grateful. Again, we would not have complained but, the fact is I made the booking for last night’s ‘get together’ with our friends quite a way ahead, as we wanted to request the table in the upstairs bow window. I was told that was fine, but when we arrived last night we were told the table was not available now, as we were 6 and a party of 8 had come in. We ought, we believe, to have been offered some kind of compensation at that time. But, as I say, I would not have mentioned this but for the fact of the many tepid dishes we were served last night. So our disappointment is definitely with the lukewarm food. But, even tho we come from a way outside of Winchester to meet up with each other, we will continue to do so. For your interest we travelled from Upper Chute which is a 25 mile distance, from Goodworth Clatford and also from Chilbolton. We hope your kitchen staff are able to use our comments constructively.

As always we enjoyed our food. The staff and the service is outstanding - it is a shame about the noise levels, but you can't have everything!

Côte B is so good for us for several reasons :- 1. Tables are a good size and are well spaced. 2. Chairs are comfy. 3. Music is low and sensible - not clashy nor thumpy. 4. Staff are friendy and attentive. 5. Food choices are excellent, exciting and consistent. 6. Food quality is just superb. This is why we keep coming to CB.

It was a stunning meal. Faultless. Excellent staff they are all very friendly. I couldn’t recommend it more. Always professionally cooked. Everything is of quality. Thanks.

Service was a bit slow. the staff could have been a little more upbeat. We have never liked the 12.5% service charge. It is a presumption, particularly as we always leave a tip (unless the service is awful!). We like the menu, it is well presented and good quality food. So we will be back.

Overall experience was amazing, our breakfast food and drinks were delicious and service was quick. Staff are extremely lovely and was able to cater to our needs. 10\10, definitely visiting again.

Once again, we enjoyed our lunch very much. The choice was good, the service excellent and the food was delicious as well as being well presented. The service was timely and we felt well looked after. Also, the food was very good value for money.
