Côte Winchester

We had the prestige set menu which offered a good selection and the food was pleasing. The service was faultless. My only negative was that I was told their set menu also includes a free cocktail if pre booked, which I had, but I didn't receive an email that I apparently needed. And just a note, the whole restaurant was very cold.

Ambience really lovely albeit busy so can be noisy. Food and service excellent. Would recommend this restaurant. The menu is extensive so plenty of choice to meet all tastes.

We went to the restaurant for my duster’s Birthday so it was s treat. Our chips were cold, when they arrived, the chocolate desert had not been heated up and the lights kept flickering on and off like a strobe light for the entire meal. The manager was good and we were offered free desert.

Delicious food, great service from friendly waiters. We are never disappointed.

This was our first visit to the Winchester restaurant. We have eaten at Cote Basingstoke where the food is of a good standard, but, the eating experience is spoilt because the restaurant is very noisy and normal conversation isn't possible - you need to shout to make yourself heard and with no pause between courses the meal has felt rather rushed. What a difference at Winchester. The staff couldn't have been more freindly and welcoming. We never felt rushed and we could chat and whileaway the evening with great food and a glass of wine. Rest assured we'll be back soon.

Great food and service. Only complaint would be they need blinds along the window on the right hand side of the back part of the restaurant on the ground floor as it was very warm in the sun. Would recommend for a lovely family lunch though

As usual we had a very enjoyable meal, the food is always good at Cote. The staff we always find to be attentive and make us feel so welcome and polite. It is a joy to eat at Cote and is excellent value for what you pay!!!

Our first visit to Cote Winchester didn't go very well, so thought we'll give them a second chance. This time the complimentary rhubarb martinis were excellent and so was the onion soup. Asparagus starter was average and the mains arrived yet again! really late, close to closing time. The staff apologised and took the wine off the bill but this should have not happened in the first place. Overall, very disappointed again!

Another great meal at Cotes. There early evening menu is excellent value. The staff are incredibly professional and the food is always delicious. I can recommend the whitebait.

We visited on Saturday 16th March having made a reservation. It was our first night out as couple after having our daughter and I must say it was fantastic. We were immediately greeted with a smile and nothing was too much throughout our time spent in the restaurant. The food was first class and service was intuitative without feeling rushed between courses even to the point that our waiter knew I needed another bowl for my spent mussels shells before I had even asked. A genuinely lovely meal and we will be returning as soon as we can arrange another babysitter!. Credit where it is due, thank you Côte Winchester, see you soon 10/10

As usual, the food matched the service: a perfect balance between tasteful and relaxed. The drinks list is very suitable and expanded on when further knowledge is requested, and how can you beat such a historic but contemporary location. Honest comments, not being paid!!!

Excellent hot breakfast for 4 of us. The coffee at Côte is really good and I am fussy about this. Sausages really tasty and scrambled eggs perfect.

Was a good atmosphere with very good service, the food was well cook and very enjoyable. The waiting time were very good, the right length between each course. The food was good value for money. In all was a lovely and enjoyable restaurant with good food and drinks.

Although I booked online to receive the monthly offer of a free G&T when ordering from the a la carts menu when we arrived at the restaurant we were told that the booking didn’t say this. This was very embarrassing but sorted out eventually only after I booked the table again online, I’m sure this could have been sorted out much better than it was.

As always, the food and service was outstanding. Our booking ‘special request’ had been noted and we were welcomed warmly. Never a disappointment! Thanks!

The staff were quite devoid of any personality and not engaging, we ordered a bottle of wine and when brought to the table the waitress asked if this is what we had ordered?! We then had to look through the menu to double check it was, whilst still eating we were asked if we had finished, we said no and was then told we had a couple more minutes and she’d return to collect our plates! After visiting cote numerous times before and enjoying it this visit was disappointing and bizarre!

We had an enjoyable meal in a pleasant atmosphere in this beautiful City. We were greeted by the delightful blond lady manager (sorry don’t recall her name) and served by very friendly and efficient waiting staff particularly a lovely smiley auburn haired lady with a pony tail (again sorry no name)

Fantastic family meal, highly recommend Cote Winchester. We all ordered something different and we could not fault the service or very yummy food. It was just a shame the disabled toilet was out of action and not everybody can manage all the stairs. I hope you can get it fixed soon.

A very enjoyable evening with good food and good company.

As always Cote was very very good. Food, atmosphere, service and noise level. Everything is done to the book, seated, given menus and asked what you want to drink while you read the menu.

It was overpriced for what it was and the portion sizes were small. The food came out super quick but this isn’t a good thing as most of what we ordered could have been cooked at home with a lot higher standard.

Delicious food and delicious wine. Waiter very attentive and appropriately chatty. Requested a window table, an this was obliged. Overall, a very good experience in the centre of Winchester

Not our best experience today for breakfast , usually the service and food are better, in fact the formula deal is excellent but today food items were forgotten and the toast was cold and soft. The Fried eggs were over cooked. It’s a shame

very friendly and efficient service. starters and desserts delicious. the boeuf en croute was a bit dry ...where was the jus?...but tasty and the peas with the chicken were overcooked. a bit disappointed that the cocktails were only available with a La carte items. Last time they weren't!

I chose a starter and a main from the à la carte menu and I was extremely happy with what I received. The service was very good and the food was fresh and cooked with well. I would happily go back and explore more of their menu.

Really love this restaurant - and the veal escalope, but that’s only in the winter really - our meal was perfect and service was great and almost invisible as good service should be

The meal, wine, service and ambience were excellent and the price reasonable. What more could you want?! A very pleasant early evening meal before strolling down to the cinema.

Service superb, food excellent, choices great. Only complaint, why pay the staff so low that you have to add a 12.50% gratuity to inflate their earnings instead of paying them a bit more? Whilst many wouldn't, I would have paid a tad more on the food to cover the tips, for instance our bill of £130+ included the 12.50% tip option. I would have paid the same amount happily knowing the staff were getting a reasonable wage!

Very enjoyable meal. Nice menu with plenty of options. The bretan fish sea food broth was delicious. service was quick and attentative. I would definitely recommend.

Great service but not much time between courses. Think because they weren’t particularly busy. Food tasty but do think skin on chicken should’ve been crispier.

We've eaten at Cote Brasserie - Winchester a number of times and each has been as good as the last. I would always recommend this restaurant to others.

Friendly service and delicious food. We slwats enjoy our time at Cote.

Yet again - the staff were totally oblivious of the fact that the cocktails went with the booking so requiring me to point this out. The staff seemed to comprise three young men one of whom looked very bedraggled. There were no uniformed waiting staff on duty - the hallmark of Cote. The atmosphere suffers as a result. Food was good but does seem to have lost some of its panache. Service was rather rushed an not up to the attentive standards we used to enjoy.

Fabulous food and excellent service. We will definitely be returning.
