Really good food, nice setting and good atmosphere. We were sat in the back room which was a bit dark so we asked to be moved out into the main area as it was a really nice day. We had to ask twice before we could move which was odd, but other than that it was great!
fabulous and quirky it had a really great atmosphere especially when eating food! I thought the service was quick, efficient and friendly and would definitely recommend to a friend!
We went on a Monday where burgers are 2 for 1.Food was good but seemed to wait along time even though they wasn't busy. Staff was pleasant .
Excellent food and quality.. service could have been quicker as we had to be at the theatre but definetly will be visiting again with family.
I enjoyed the restaurant but the food wasn't as good as I had hoped. I had a Steve McGarrett pizza which might as well have been cheese and tomato as there was hardly any ham or pineapple on it! My friend had an ice cream sundae which should have had sweets on the top but they were missing. I am not a fan of goats cheese and all the vegetarian things had goats cheese on, so I can't bring my veggie daughters as they don't like goats cheese. On the plus side, the waitress was lovely and the cocktails were gorgeous ..... next time I think I will come for drinks and not for food.
Gorgeous afternoon tea. Great service. However my mum can't have raw egg or nuts which we told the waitress and they brought out a gluten free cake with nuts (mum could have had any cake - nut free). They were very accommodating other than this as they removed egg sandwiches and swapped for others and substituted macaroons.
It was amazing, everything area is well detailed - you can’t help yourself looking around. The food was delicious, the sandwiches and cakes!! Felt very relaxed, defiantly going again very soon
Went here for afternoon tea. Tea and coffee cameafter about a 40 minute wait...... but no tea cup! had finished our drinks before our food arrived. Food was lovely ....all bar one dry stalish sandwich. Overall had to wait over an hour for service which spoilt the experience, This also seemed to be the case for customers around us. Nice setting and the staff were working hard......just too few and run off their feet.
Fantastic place to eat.Food , staff and ambience first class and whole experience leads to a great night out. Would definitely recommend to try if not been before.
Myself and my partner visited on a tuesday night, busy but not manic. When asked about ordering drinks my partner was asked for a beer and was told it wasn't avaliable - this happened 3 times before the waitress went away and wrote down a list of what they did have. The food was fine but after we had finished eating we were left with out empty plates and empty drinks for 20 minutes whilst the waitress was serving everyone else, clearly not enough staff on, in the end we walked up to the bar and paid there. Good food, poor service
Food was ok, but everyting else was excellent. Including the MUSIC!! Lovely decor and the staff were attentive. Cake and pizza were lacklustre though ...
Afternoon tea was great but my friend had a sandwich which was dry. They gave her a discount but we were surprised they served it as it was hard to the touch and they should have known at the time of preparing.
Enjoyed everything about it the food service place will definitely go again very pleased thank you it was a Christmas gift thanks to family xx
First time visiting curious manor. What a fabulous place to go. Very quirky. Excellent service from start to finish. Food was delicious and the cocktails were even more delicious
Really quirky place with a good atmosphere. Excellent food and good choice of cocktails too! Slight wait for food, but as there were 6 of us and we were chatting we didn’t notice; however the lovely waitress got us a round of drinks on the house as an apology! Would definitely return x
I had booked a table for two and requested that there be space for two pushchairs, when we first got there - the table was not ready. The end part of the restaurant was empty apart from two other ladies having afternoon tea, we was seated next to them when all other tables were clear, and remained to stay empty whilst we was there. The server stated that where she sat us (next to a staff only double door and the window where the food came from the kitchen) would be the best place as the pushchairs would not be in the way - our two little ones were sleeping, so perfect! We ordered the afternoon tea and they were very generous to let us change some of the food, because we didn’t like salmon or egg. However throughout being seated we were asked at least 5 times if we could move the pushchairs as they needed to access an area where they had said we would not be disturbed. Now anyone with children, ours are 10 months and 5 months, knows that when they sleep, please let them sleep without being bothered! Especially if you have stated this area would not nbe needing access. The gentleman who served our table and took our order, I found very rude at times, yes he did ask if everything was okay and change some of the menus for us, however he did see our drinks were empty and never once asked if we would like another. I had to get his attention. When asking for the bill he was at the table next to us sorting cakes. By this point our little ones were awake from all the noise next to the kitchen an constantly being disturbed and pushed by. If the restaurant was busy I would not be writing this. But with the end of the restaurant being empty apart from us and two others, I would expect better service and not a feeling of being rushed or in the way.
Great food and cocktails, good range and quality of both. Staff very helpful and friendly. Venue is alternatively decorated with a Victorian twist but very nicely done.
Service was as slow. We were tucked away in a dark area and I had to get up to go and find a waitress a couple of times. We were charged £3 for a little bit of extra bread. The food was good.
I had afternoon tea here - the food was delicious. Especially the brownies! Service was also very good despite it being very busy - who can complain with free refills of tea. We stayed for a couple of hours and didn’t feel any pressure to leave.
Great choice, value and service. Highly recommend the food and the cocktails a great twist on some classics. Suggest you book to guarantee a seat.
Birthday cake wasn't very personal. My mums 50th so not treated like a special birthday even though we spoke to restaurant beforehand. Cake was a slice cake with a candle in. Food .... mussels sent back as over cooked
Food was lovely. Nice place to eat service not so good they weren’t over busy but you had to keep asking for things you had ordered ie drinks. I would eat here again just hope the service will be better next time 🍽
This place was recommend by my Grandma to come here and have after-noon tea, and my goodness I am so glad I went! The cake and sandwiches are delicious, and having so many different varieties was even better! The scones were sensational, with beautiful clotted cream and jam and having unlimited tea or coffee made it x10 better! The service was very quick and the staff were very friendly and welcoming! I have never been to such a unique and grand place before, and will defiantly return again to try some more different cakes or even have a look at the tasty full course meals that was on the menu!!! :)
Fabulous place to have afternoon tea and cocktails. Very quirky with a varied menu. The service was excellent, nothing was too Much trouble. Will definitely return.
Attentive staff. Interesting surroundings Used discount voucher but wouldn't have paid full price for the afternoon tea. Also asked for a tea refill and was told we would be charged extra - for two tea bags????? Thought that a bit mean. Meals looked nice with other customers.
Venue good but food average. Sandwiches nice but scones heavy with burnt after-taste. Cakes very sweet without much flavour. Different cakes per stand was strange - surely better for everyone to have the same experience? Notified venue of nut allergy but at least 3/6 cakes were nutty and one on each stand. Part of our order arrived late. Server was pleasant if busy. Not sure I would choose CM again for afternoon tea.
Excellent food brilliant atmosphere. Just had to wait when got busier for service for dessert and to pay, but this didn't spoil experience. Thank you.
I took my Niece for her 30th Birthday & we had a Sparkling Afternoon Tea, The service was brilliant & the staff were very helpful
The food and place is really lovely, the only thing that spoilt it for me was that I was cold. Perhaps I should have asked to be moved.
Great atmosphere in curious surroundings- food fab, good choice recommend the pizza, great service, went for my daughter's 18th, 1st time cocktails went down a treat!!!
Hello I Took me husband for pre panto dinner, we had salad with smoked salmon and sweet potato fries, lovely food would definitely go again
A wonderful experience! We sat next to the window with an excellent view over the gathering evening in Trinity Square. The high tea was excellent. Comprising 4 types of elegantly cut sandwiches, with a rocket and crispy veg garnish. A Cornish cream tea. Panacotta. Fresh berries and cakes. All served on one of those multi-layered plate stands. And a pot of tea served with ornate China cups. More than we could eat, and we were hungry! The service was excellent, attentive and unobtrusive. I wholeheartedly recommend it to round of a lovely day in Nottingham. The specialist G&Ts helped too!
Great afternoon tea. Particularly enjoyed the Panna cotta. Lovely atmosphere with quirky decor and helpful, friendly staff. Would definitely go again and recommend to friends.
Very friendly and goof value for money with Groupon deal lovely treat good food in a cute surroundings staff will help with anything you want cocktails are lush
Lovely environment but food was not up to much . A few of us had upset tummies in the morning too .Would try again and hope that it is better second time around. The door is open to the kitchen - it spoils the wonderful interior design.
Fab and quirky, good choice of food, good kids menu. Excellent location and staff very friendly. Will definitely be back for afternoon tea and will recommend to friends
The afternoon tea was very nice, plenty of choice and tasty. We did encounter a couple of problems however, even though we had specified when we booked and again in person the day before that we had a lady in a wheelchair they wanted to put us in a booth which was not accessible for her. The waitress soon changed us round but had to move a couple of things so we could get to our table. With the downstairs bar being closed it was quite a high step to get her up and down and not a lot of room for manoeuvre. Apart from those couple of little gripes that were soon dealt with the experience as a whole was wonderful, the staff were attentive and dealt with everything efficiently and our afternoon tea was exactly what we wanted.
Wonderful afternoon tea. Lovely choice and quality of food, very friendly and helpful members of staff. Only downside was that we were sat where the music was quite loud and had to talk loudly the whole time but this still did not spoil the afternoon.
Had the best time, the food was delicious and the service was quick and efficient. Had the moules frites and it was really good! Thankyou
Great setting and atmosphere with friendly staff lovely food and fantastic cocktails. Can recommend for a special occasion or when you want to treat yourself.
