Their village location up on Mill Hill Road may seem to serve a small community, but Da Piero’s menu brings in diners from Heswall, Birkenhead, Liverpool and beyond on a regular basis. Unassuming from the street, diminutive in terms of footprint but huge in taste and levels of foot traffic, Da Piero has scooped awards from the Good Food Guide and the hallowed Michelin. A carefully curated wine selection bookends menus that offer superb value fine dining for early birds, a la carte lunch and dinner options, as well as a considerate, dedicated set of vegetarian and vegan menus. Nido di gamberi di fiume - Crayfish Nes

Crayfish tails (Astacoidea) dressed in extra virgin olive oil, garlic, lemon and a touch of chilli served under rocket leaves.

Tuna Tartare

Prepared with the highest quality Sashimi Grade Tuna (Thunnus albacares). The raw tuna is marinated in extra virgin olive oil, lemon, garlic, salt and black pepper. Served with rocket, tomato, a slice of lemon and a small jug of balsamic vinegar

Carpaccio di filetto di bue - Beef fillet carpaccio

Thin slices of raw fillet of beef dressed with lemon, extra virgin olive oil, rocket and 24 month matures parmesan shavings


Merluzzo nordico alla Siciliana con pomodorini ed origano -Sicilian style cod with cherry vine tomatoes and oregano

The cod (Gadus morhua) is cooked with cherry vine tomatoes, garlic and Sicilian wild oregano

Ossobuco con spinaci all’aglio - Ossobuco with garlic spinach.

A classic Italian dish which is known worldwide. The meat is from a cross breed of limousin/hereford, aged between 16 and 18 months which, in Piero’s opinion is most flavoursome. The dish is served with gremolata and wilted spinach sautéed in garlic.

Collare di Cobia - Cobia Collar

This is a speciality dish which is the whole collar of the Cobia fish (Rachycentron canadum) grilled and served with salad and vegetables specially prepared by the Chef. The cobia fish weighs between 4 and 5kgs and, obviosuly there is only one collar per fish. Please ask if this is avaialable.


Cannolo Siciliano - Sicilian dessert

Home made dessert from Sicily which is a pastry shell filled with ricotta cheese, sugar and other ingredients.

Gelato all’Amaretto - Ice Cream with Amaretto

Homemade using only natural ingredients. Free range organic eggs and original Amaretto Disaronno are combined with fresh cream and other ingredients. Served sprinkled with crushed Amaretto biscuits it is a dessert not to be missed!

Gelato al caffè espresso - Espresso coffee ice cream

An original artisan recipe creates this intense, creamy, espresso coffee ice cream. Home made with super milk, fresh cream and Italian espresso. An excellent strong tasting ice cream.

We've been before, and this time was just as good as the last time. It's a pleasant experience to eat Italian food in a restaurant that's not part of a 'chain' The fron of house staff were excellent and the cooking superb.

Have been at Da Piero's several times. Always sublime Italian food. There are lots of Italian restaurants in the UK but when it comes down to authenticity I haven't been to a better one, and I have lived in Italy for many years.

This was our first visit to Da Piero, and it was lovely. A really relaxing evening, we were never rushed so had plenty of time to savour the flavours of this delicious food. Front of house service was spot on - friendly, unpretentious and helpful (we needed advice on portion size!). Also didn't work out as expensive as we thought - we shared a pasta starter, a main each plus three shared side dishes, pudding, coffee plus a half litre carafe of house wine, came to £88.

We've never been disappointed at Da Piero. My son in law, who's lived in Italy for 4 years, says it's the best Italian cooking he's tasted outside Italy. On the last occasion I had a simple pasta al ragù which was perfect Sometimes the simplest things are the best.

Cosy atmosphere. Good choice of food on all menus, which includes a 3 course 'early doors' menu until 7pm, all food reasonably priced. Excellent, friendly service with good proportions of freshly cooked and very delicious food. A visit to 'Da Piero' is highly recommended!! 😃

Beautiful you simple yet mouth warein guy tasty. We have always wanted to eat here but thought we wouldn't be able to get a table and the food wold be too expensive as the restaurant features on television Michelin guide. However we were proven wrong the good is well priced and it was so easy to book and reserve a table for our preferred day and time using quandoo. Thanks for a really enjoyable evening. We will definitely be back.

Excellent as always! The flavours of the main course were exceptional...the traditional sicilian beef. Da Piero exceeds expectations for italian food served in this country and is about as authentic as you will get outside Italy.

From the moment we walked in we were welcomed as old friends. Many other groups were clearly regular and cherished customers. The food was delicious, perfectly flavoured and served. Advice about food intolerances and course choices thoughtful and helpful. The room was simple, relaxed and professional. We had a lovely evening, time flew and we will certainly go back again very soon. Highly recommended.
