Excellent food and Service. We highly recommend to anyone. Tried several of their top competitors and found their overall product to be above the rest.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere and service and ridiculously reasonable prices. This restaurant is an absolute find in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. Try the Nepalese potato salad as a side - utterly delicious. I have no hesitation in recommending The Gurkha Cafe 100%.

Amazing food, the butter chicken was especially good. Service was great. My husband loved the special chicken with dal. We both enjoyed the naan bread. Would definitely recommend.

This was a first visit and the restaurant created a very positive impression. A warm welcome; an interesting and varied menu which appealed to all of us in the party. The dishes were nicely presented and were full of flavour and enjoyed without question. Service was very attentive without being intrusive. A touch more expensive than I imagined - but no real concern there.

Delicious food and attentive service. Restaurant was a little cold though, maybe because we were there bang on opening time. Would still go back. Recommended!

We had a great experience at Ghurka cafe & restaurant. Really nice and helpful staff. We’re big fans of Indian curry houses and now big fans of the Nepal influence. Beautiful food and we will definitely be back the next time we’re in Edinburgh. Best meal we had all trip.

Easy to find and when we entered we given a choice of tables. Menu in comparison to other Indian restaurants was small (thankfully) we both chose to eat and try the Nepalese dishes which looked stunning and tasted delicious. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

Good food, and a lovely place. The only thing about this particular visit was that the vegetable momos were falling apart when it came out.

Food is superb, not your usual dayglo sauces that most Indian restaurants serve up. Surroundings are a bit on the rustic side but we will definitely be back again.

Always delicious. Our favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. Friendly service. Lamb choila and karahi curry are the best you’ll find in the city. Excellent value for money.

The food was delicious - very fresh- chose medium dish as thought mild would be too mild. However it was very spicy -would definitely go back. Generous portions - Service efficient.

The food was nice and flavoursome. The Nepalese touch takes it above the normal fare you get in the average Indian restaurant. The staff were friendly too.

Good atmospher and service, but I chose the wrong thing on the menu I think for the main course which lacked taste and was therefore bland. Also the starter was a bit of a con.

I have used Gurkha Café in the past and been pleased with the food and the staff, in fact the experience generally. This visit was on a Sunday night and the prices seemed really high. £14 for a meat curry and £3 for rice to go with it. The food was good but there was far too much of it and it was too expensive. Smaller portions and a smaller price please.
