Hops and Chops

Food was very tasty and staff nice but we did have to wait quite a while at our table until we were attended to. It was very noisy with tables very close together where we sat. Also young children in a family group were running up and down the seats at the back of the restaurant. Bad parents but staff should have intervened, as it spoilt other diners experience.

My 2nd visit to H&C and still continue to be impressed with the quality of the meat and wide selection of craft beer and gins. Reasonably price this should be in any meat lover’s bucket list. Tell ‘em Big Dave sent ‘ya. Oh and if you have room, the cheese board is a delight too.

The only downside tonight was the sticky toffee pudding.. it wasn’t very sticky & was incredibly hard. But the rest of our Food was amazing as always. After Eight Martini... on my. I will be back for another one of those..

Early Saturday night, quite busy but had the same great service as our previous visit. Th food was very good and the choice amazing. We took friends along and all agreed that we would return to try another mouth watering dish from the menu.

Excellent as always. Service is always spot on. Steak here is amazing.... great choice of specials and slot of new additions to the menu. One of our favourite restaurants

The service was Great and the food tasted good, although the food was a little slow coming out. Great experience overall, would definitely return here.

Brilliant Sunday lunch. Beef was perfectly cooked, great yorkies and really rich proper gravy. Service is always welcoming and friendly, great choice of beers available.

Food was slow, possibly because we didn’t all order Sunday roasts. Received the bill and then waited 10 mins for someone to take payment, (lots of people serving) went to the bar in the end to pay. Vegan burger looked like it had been cooked and then held for the rest of the food. Pork was over cooked and dry. Ordered Pichana steak medium rare, was ok but perhaps wait staff should have advised it was better cooked rare as majority of it was chewy (think Miller and Carter / Gauchos style of advice) as the diner would have had a better experience. Sunday roast was the pick of the bunch.

Lovely food!!! Excellent Service, great menu choices!! Was made to feel really welcome and the service was quick and helpful. I had a fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection!!!

Great food, service and atmosphere. Large craft beer selection, will visit again when not driving. A bit of a hidden gem. Oh and try the Rice Pudding.... Its amazing!!!!

Amazing food and service as usual, the only reason I didn’t rate it a 6 is because the fries weren’t “skin on fries” as advertised

Slightly Disappointing after a first brilliant visit the second visit with friends was not quite to good the food was still good but not very hot The staff too busy to be attentive Far too noisy as lots of big party groups so 4 of us couldn't hear ourselves speak would be helpful to put smaller groups in one area on their own - would not go as just a couple

Excellent meal....sirloins cooked perfectly, sweet potato fries were delicious as was the green chilli slaw. The burnt onion and medeiros sauce was wonderful. Sides were generous which was a nice surprise. Staff and service efficient, helpful and friendly. Will definitely return very soon.

Nice food but overpriced for what you get, priced above the setting and food standards. I wouldn’t recommend nor would I tell someone not to go.

When we went in we was made very welcome we sat down and had a drink then we ordered our Sunday roast when it came it was very nice could of been a bit hotter but it was very nice it didn’t ruin it definitely will be going back again

Great food, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. This is a stylish venue with a good crowd, if you're not in to meat in a big way, don't worry as there's a good selection of dishes to try.

Food was excellent only very minor thing was it was a little cold in the restaurant, but it is winter so other than that very happy.

3rd visit to this place - Lovely staff, excellent food. Had the smoked chicken which had superb flavours and was succulent. Friends went for the dining club of 2 burgers and sides. Cooked to perfection. Great selection of craft beers.

Great food and brilliant friendly service always. We go to Hops and Chops pretty regularly and despite not being the cheapest it is always consistently great quality and value for money

Such a lovely place to eat we can't recommend it enough. The best steak we've tasted and we're very picky with steak. Perfect date night.

Great food, Great service - which is rare these days in restaurants!! Nice decor and atmosphere than Smoke Pit in town (same owner though) this is not a criticism. Will definitely go back again.

Food was very good, great choice on menu, service was good but the down side for me was, it wasn’t very warm in the building.

Comfortable seats and surroundings. Waitress service excellent. Burger and duck delicious. Disappointed with the two steaks, the sirloin was under cooked ( supposed to be medium, more like rare) and my ribeye was fatty and a bit chewy. I did ask for a strong lager but had a 3.7 percent light lager which was recommended . Nice experience and would go back.

Great service and even better food. A good choice of food to choose from on the menu, and an amazing selection of gin’s too! We’ll definitely be coming back.

This was a lovely little gem, that knows how to cook steak very well. If you are looking for a great meal with very good service this is the place to go

Went for the deal on Tuesdays Supper Club two burgers with one major side and two minor sides for £23.50. The burgers were very nice and tasty I would recommend, service very good would go again
