Good food and didn't have to wait too long, at same time did not feel rushed. Went out for my partners birthday with friends. Main problem was one person I went with was given Peppers in her food, even though we had said that she is unable to eat Peppers when we ordered. When we told staff there was no apology or concern.

We had a lovely time.The service was excellent, the dining rooms downstairs are great and the food excellent . We will return.

Once again excellent value. The choice of items on the menu were appealing and our group of four all enjoyed their food enormously.

Although I definitely booked for 3 people, they had it down as 2. Quickly sorted with no fuss which was appreciated. Great menu with something for everyone. Well cooked and delicious. House wine very good. Will certainly visit again.

Had a lovely evening, service was excellent and good was really good. Only downside was the smell of the mussels which was quite off putting. When we mentioned it, the waitress just agreed and laughed.

Fantastic experience! The front if house staff were friendly and very knowledgable about food intolerances and dishes that were available to me. We shall definitely return.

The food was absolutely delicious and the waiting staff were extremely polite. The only thing that would have improved the overall experience was that whilst the portion size (poulet fricasse) suited myself and our female guest perfectly, it was nowhere near big enough for my partner, who is a farmer who works long hours and needs a good manly portion of food.

The food is absolutely amazing and the portions are very generous. On a previous visit I found the service to be friendlier and more attentive, but on this visit it was a very quiet period and the staff changed over halfway through. This meant the wait times were longer and staff didn't seem quite as friendly, but I would definitely go again and would recommend it to anyone. Just maybe ask to sit upstairs where they can see you!

Food was great, service was truly awful, the young lady who looked after us was very frosty from the minute we arrived. Not given a choice of where to sit despite the place being practically empty and a couple who arrived after us were given a choice. Not offered water but the glasses sat empty on the table for the duration of the meal, as did the champagne and beer glasses once we moved on to the wine. Wine was a nice Chablis but would have expected to be offered a taste rather than just having it left on the table to help ourselves. Won't be back despite the good food until staff are trained to do the basics.

Great Mother’s Day dinner. Food lovely, in a relaxed atmosphere. Small details like a large glass of wine with the ‘Dine & Wine’ option (rather than ‘getting away’ with a small glass) go a long way - others could learn - small additional cost for restaurant, more valued customers.

Fantastic food and atmosphere, sitting down stairs is a really wonderful but unique setting! Regular visitors and will be back!

Relaxing as ever - great food, great atmosphere and great service

Was booked In via quandoo for 11.45 when we arrived they thought we were just there for drinks so had to wait 15 minutes until we could order food due to the above error The food was good The staff were ok , could have been much more hospitable I have been to le mistral in Sherwood Nottingham and enjoyed my visit there more than today’s visit at wirksworth
