Wonderful service and food as always, perfect venue for old friends' reunion.
Having been for lunch a few time we were looking forward to the meal, unfortunately the experience of dinner was extremely disappointing. My wife is a vegetarian and I eat fish which is one of the reason we chose the restaurant having looked online. Unfortunately most contained peppers which my wife can't eat which wasn't clear from the menu. She chose something she'd had previously for lunch but on this occasion it was badly over cooked. My fish dish was adequate but nothing special. Overall very disappointing.
Very good all round however the Duck skin wasn't crisp.
A lovely little restaurant, just around the corner, made to feel welcome. Food was excellent.
A fine restaurant serving good quality Bistro style food at reasonable prices. Amex credit cards are not accepted
Wonderful little gem in Wirksworth. Lovely afternoon, relaxed atmosphere, great food. Staff helpful and friendly. Stayed 3hrs - didn’t feel rushed at all. Highly recommend and will definitely return.
Helpful staff member who was organised. Nice place looks the part But really mediocre food which was overpriced and that's the important bit. Go to Bistro Pierre as an alternative.
Great place in a lovely village. Good atmosphere and service.
We had a lovely two course meal here, excellent service and excellent food. In order not to miss out I would advise booking in advance.
Lovely meal here, twice in one week. This is a very nice place to visit a5 lunchtime but I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment.
Delicious food in a quaint setting. Staff were very attentive and service good. Good selection of wines and other beverages. Need to book in advance.
Food and service very good, particularly the duck and mussels. Only improvement was with the portion size for creme brûlée, which was far too small.
Cheerful, friendly staff. Excellent choice of dishes and service. My one personal gripe was that my poisson blanc (whitebait) was a little overcooked. The whole group of 9 really enjoyed the meal.
Lovely cosy place! We went New Year’s Eve for an early dinner arriving at 7pm. Staff were friendly and food was delicious. Overall it’s the best le mistral (out of the three!)
Excellent lunch, good service and value for money! Nice varied menu, plenty of meals to choose from. We will be visiting here more often, booking advised.
Great meal in a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was well presented and good. The menu offers a good choice without being too wide as to spoil. Great!
Poor quality service. They got the order wrong twice , they were rude and blamed us. Food was mediocre and not worth the price charged.
Food and staff all lovely, although we weren't made aware that the Specials board wasn't included in the fixed price two course, meaning our bill was a bit more expensive than we were expecting. But the food was fantastic.
great food and drinks. good service, very friendly. been a few times, good each time. place full of character, down stairs lovely. Thanks Le Mistral
Everything was really tasty, however, I found the pork dish a little too fatty for my liking, the cracklin was done to perfection. The Dauphinois potatoes I felt would have been better with a little less garlic. But that is just my taste.
Good service and pleasant atmosphere. Food good with excellent vegan choices. Nice to have music playing in the background but songs seem to repeat very quickly.
We had a pre cinema meal there it was fantastic the staff were very attentive without being pushy or in your face and the food was brilliant, all served with a smile and no fuss.
Had the pork belly with crackling, it was to die for. My other half had duck and it was fantastic. A wonderful meal in the atmospheric cellar part of the restaurant. We are already planning to return.
Fabulous meal in lovely surroundings. Was our second visit and certainly won't be our last. Service was also very good. I can't recommend highly enough.
Great food and service in a cosy yet quirky environment. We enjoyed our night very much and will definitely be returning soon. Best creme brûlée I’ve had since my last visit to France 🙂
Lovely as usual. Good service as usual. Never had a bad meal here. Will be back! Introduced friends to it today and they loved it too.
Because there was were 8 of us we had to pre order starters and mains. Several of the group would have chosen something different off the specials board if could have chosen on the night.
Excellent food, excellent service - what more can you ask? We would definitely visit again n x2 time we are in the area - superb
Birthday meal on a Thursday evening and seemed busy but not too busy! We all had two courses and they were really tasty! The staff were friendly and helpful.
Mix up with our table but they gave us a free drink for this. Food was great, service was great & we enjoyed the evening !
Enjoyable evening worth the travel , good ambiance and staff polite and welcoming , would like to return to try the good variety of vegetarian dishes . So return visit with vegetarian friends , thank you 😊
Interesting and varied menu. Attentive but unobtrusive service. Comfortable chairs (table maybe slightly high) in pretty atmospheric cellar. Food tasty and well presented. A complimentary bread basket à la Français would have been perfect ;)
We've been before so knew what to expect. We were told there was a new menu starting this week though it still featured what we wanted. The only disappointment was being charged £5.60 for a bottle of fizzy water which we found a little excessive.
Service was good but food VERY disappointing. Shop bought patè, undercooked potatoes, bland fish that had been poached not pan fried as stated on menu. Wouldn't go back again.
Unexpectedly really delicious food well cooked and well seasoned. We sat in the cellars which were thankfully cool. Good service would recommend amd visit again.
Lovely staff , Super food. Quite a large menu with extras on the blackboard. Vegan choices as well We will go again soon we hope.
Consistently good authentic French food and wine. Very good friendly service. We don't visit Derbyshire that often but when we do we enjoy a lovely meal at La Mistral
I went to Le Mistral in Wirksworth, Derbyshire yesterday for lunch with my husband and brother and sister-in-law. We all had a lovely, very delicious meal. I thought the venue was very nice too - it is the first time I have been here but would certainly return. I have been to Le Mistral in Nottingham a couple of times and thought this was excellent as well.
It was so hot outside yet very cool in the downstairs restaurant. The staff were wonderful, wine was excellent and the food delicious. What more could you need?
It was our first visit to Le Mistral. We loved the entrance to the restaurant, really lively and vibrant. However we were dismayed to be taken to a lower ground area and shown to a table with no outlook. The staff however were excellent. The drinks were prompt and a good variety. Having ordered we were really looking forward to the food. However we were disappointed, the food was freshly cooked but bland. Presentation was average. Again the staff made the evening for us. Even though we were disappointed with the food we stayed in the bar for another drink as it was so welcoming. If we were rating you on the staff and the bar you would get an excellent, however we had come for dinner and really disappointed as you had been highly recommended to us.
