Delicious food in a quaint setting. Staff were very attentive and service good. Good selection of wines and other beverages. Need to book in advance.

Food and service very good, particularly the duck and mussels. Only improvement was with the portion size for creme brûlée, which was far too small.

Cheerful, friendly staff. Excellent choice of dishes and service. My one personal gripe was that my poisson blanc (whitebait) was a little overcooked. The whole group of 9 really enjoyed the meal.

Lovely cosy place! We went New Year’s Eve for an early dinner arriving at 7pm. Staff were friendly and food was delicious. Overall it’s the best le mistral (out of the three!)

Great meal in a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was well presented and good. The menu offers a good choice without being too wide as to spoil. Great!

Poor quality service. They got the order wrong twice , they were rude and blamed us. Food was mediocre and not worth the price charged.

Food and staff all lovely, although we weren't made aware that the Specials board wasn't included in the fixed price two course, meaning our bill was a bit more expensive than we were expecting. But the food was fantastic.

Everything was really tasty, however, I found the pork dish a little too fatty for my liking, the cracklin was done to perfection. The Dauphinois potatoes I felt would have been better with a little less garlic. But that is just my taste.

Good service and pleasant atmosphere. Food good with excellent vegan choices. Nice to have music playing in the background but songs seem to repeat very quickly.

Had the pork belly with crackling, it was to die for. My other half had duck and it was fantastic. A wonderful meal in the atmospheric cellar part of the restaurant. We are already planning to return.

Because there was were 8 of us we had to pre order starters and mains. Several of the group would have chosen something different off the specials board if could have chosen on the night.

Interesting and varied menu. Attentive but unobtrusive service. Comfortable chairs (table maybe slightly high) in pretty atmospheric cellar. Food tasty and well presented. A complimentary bread basket à la Français would have been perfect ;)

We've been before so knew what to expect. We were told there was a new menu starting this week though it still featured what we wanted. The only disappointment was being charged £5.60 for a bottle of fizzy water which we found a little excessive.

Service was good but food VERY disappointing. Shop bought patè, undercooked potatoes, bland fish that had been poached not pan fried as stated on menu. Wouldn't go back again.

I went to Le Mistral in Wirksworth, Derbyshire yesterday for lunch with my husband and brother and sister-in-law. We all had a lovely, very delicious meal. I thought the venue was very nice too - it is the first time I have been here but would certainly return. I have been to Le Mistral in Nottingham a couple of times and thought this was excellent as well.

It was our first visit to Le Mistral. We loved the entrance to the restaurant, really lively and vibrant. However we were dismayed to be taken to a lower ground area and shown to a table with no outlook. The staff however were excellent. The drinks were prompt and a good variety. Having ordered we were really looking forward to the food. However we were disappointed, the food was freshly cooked but bland. Presentation was average. Again the staff made the evening for us. Even though we were disappointed with the food we stayed in the bar for another drink as it was so welcoming. If we were rating you on the staff and the bar you would get an excellent, however we had come for dinner and really disappointed as you had been highly recommended to us.

Indifferent food & service. Much too much chatting going on. Towards the end of the evening one of the waitresses sat at the bar with a cocktail & did her make-up! Food very average. Crepe with mushrooms, spinach & cheese was just that - no sauce. They could easily have adapted the starter mushroom recipe to include a sauce. The crème brulees were an eggytexture with not much crispy topping. My friend's was half an inch less than mine. At £5.50 a time it was not good enough. Fond memories of this place have gone.

Good company, good food, lovely ambience, attentive staff (though not in your face). What more could you want. Toilets clean and serviceable but in need of an update, a quirky door sign is not enough.

Well priced and interesting selection of food and wines (House White £15 to Chablis at £26) mid week offer of £29 for 2 mains and 500ml of house white was popular. Atmosphere was reasonable bistro with music and subdued lighting with well balanced service providing efficient but relaxed dinning.

Not a great experience. Many things were missing from the menu - no meat, burgers, tart of the day as delivery hadn't arrived. Food was ok but nothing special. Came to order desert and of the four items offered on the lunchtime menu, one was unavailable.
