We had a very enjoyable meal, the food was delicious, great service and a real buzz, even though it was early evening, definitely go again.
Excellent food - all three courses - lovely "space" (down in the cellar !) - very good service - not rushed - would definitely return.
Attentive, accomodating and friendly. Gluten free , vegan had a lovely meal with the rest of the diners! makes a change for her to feel "normal". Always good food and good service and make a point of visiting when we can.
Lovely atmosphere and very pleasant staff. Varied menu and our choices were very good. Looking forward to returning again soon - thinking of trying the mussel night on a Tuesday.
Lovely meal and great service with a smile. Always enjoy our visits to Le Mistral in Wirksworth, Derbyshire. We will be back again very soon.
Superb quality local food and excellent service. Great value for money. Fantastic warm friendly atmosphere and great house wines to complement the meal. Efficient knowledgeable staff
Good food. Handsome staff who were very attentive. Lovely atmosphere and location. Wine was great too and the 2 main courses with carafe of wine is excellent value!! Definitely be coming again if in the area.
The food was fabulous, lots of to choose from on starters mains and dessert menu and the service we received was brilliant. Will defiantly be returning and would defiantly recommend
A little disappointed with the main courses. A bit bland. Otherwise a pretty good restaurant with good service, you might expect the food to be a bit better.
Normally great but last time they struggled to feed me. I don't eat meat or onions and that seemed to be a problem - first meal arrived loaded with onions despite the usual discussion with waitress (new). Other emergency choices not suitAble as sauces were already made and had onion in them. I ended up with risotto which I've never been a fan of. On my birthday ....
Really excellent food in the centre of Wirksworth - we went back for a second evening! House wine very good, and overall a great visit. Only suggestion would be to have longer between courses, especially with rich food!
Ok food nothing out of the ordinary. Service was a bit poor. Three meals ordered were all cream sauces which wasnt over obvious from the menu and waitress said nothing about potentially may be a good idea to review. Bit lax
Good French style restaurant and café. The food is generally well prepared and reasonably priced. The whitebait starter was OK, and the hake main course very good, cooked correctly, not overcooked which would have made it dry. Unfortunately the crème brulee was served cold, it really is better hot, or at least warm.
Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. The service was wonderful and everybody was friendly. The food was amazing and very quick to come to the table. Highly recommend.
Enjoyed the evening ,food was good etc staff very pleasant the only downside was we took friends and she is not very good on stairs so that was the downside but if we go again we will book a table on the ground floor
Excellent menu... spoilt for choice! Similarly, wine list good selection at reasonable prices. With friendly service, it proved the gastronomic highlight of our holiday. Would certainly visit again if in the area.
We had a wonderful time there and always do. We asked for a couple of things to be changed on a menu choice and this was readily accepted. All the staff were pleasant and a lovely ayompshere. The food was excellent and so tasty. Thank you Le Mistral.
Beautiful meal, attentive staff, lovely setting for an intimate family birthday meal. Plenty of wines on offer and Le Mistral crepe was delicious. We will be returning soon!
The restaurant had lovely food to a very high standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was quick. No complaints at all apart from restaurant didn't have our booking on their system from quandoo!
Really tasty food. We had hake and haddock fishcakes and tarte tatin, cheesecake and lemon tart. Really reasonably priced two course lunch. Nice relaxed environment although a little hot!
We visited Le Mistral, Wirksworth, last Tuesday 18th July. On Tuesday evenings Le Mistral offers a Belgian evening of moules frites/mussels and chips and a choice of Belgian beer at very reasonable prices. We've both chosen this option before and once again we weren't disappointed. We enjoyed a very good meal, reasonably priced that we would thoroughly recommend to any visitor to this restaurant. Friendly staff and a restaurant setting that could almost be in a French village, with food to match. Tony and Mel.
The food was fab as usual but the price has gone up from £26 to £29 for the 2 mains and a carafe of wine which I think is a bit pricey. Also the atmosphere was spoilt by uncouth people sat next to us burping and being loud. Also the waitress spilt water all down me, but was very apologetic.
We was staying in Wirksworth for the weekend and was recommended this restaurant by our host and I had also seen reviews separately. I cannot fault any aspect of our experience. The food was wonderful, the service faultless. We was so impressed that we cancelled our arrangement for the following night and asked if we could book in with them once again for the Saturday night. Even though they were fully booked they managed to squeeze us in for another great meal. We will definitely be back when in the area.
Lovely food and attention to detail make this restaurant well worth a visit. Their duck confit is delicious. The size of the restaurant is deceptive as there are plenty of tables downstairs.
The restaurant was pleasant and the staff very helpful. However, the food was very disappointing. The duck and orange salad was a few pieces of duck and segments of orange on a bed of tired rocket...no dressing and very little taste. The "Chicken tarragon with wild mushroom" was a plain piece of grilled chicken with button mushrooms (not wild mushrooms) and cream flavoured with tarragon....a bit tasteless.
Enjoyed our meal at a window table, watching Wirksworth go by! The food was very tasty, although I think my fishcakes were salmon and not smoked haddock , as listed on the menu?? Delicious, whatever 😁. Attentive staff, lovely clean premises. Am taking my daughter there next week .
Les Misteral is a lovely place however the experience wasn't quite as good a it might have been. As we ate there on a Monday we didn't expect it to be packed but when we arrived we taken down to the basement seating where we were on our own even though there were tables upstairs where there were other guests. The reason given was because we booked. Although every table was available they put us on a table that was bigger than we needed and right next to the clearing station and fridge. I asked to move and this wasn't a problem. The food was very nicely cooked and tasty but for a French themed restaurant the portions were far to big and quite overwhelming. We would go again but probably over a weekend rather than a week day
Not as good as usual Waitress appeared to be new & got my order wrong My meal was rather heavy & stodgy, too much cream!
Le Mistral in Wirksworth is my first choice locally if I want to eat out whether its lunch or evening meal. I've never been disappointed and my last visit was no exception. Confit duck salad and tarte au citron both perfect, service friendly and efficient and we were seated upstairs to get the benefit of the sunshine during our lunch which was lovely
A fabulous meal chosen from a very varied menu. There was a lovely warm atmosphere & very friendly staff. We had a great evening, thank you.
Lovely Resturant....pleasant staff.....good food......requested a nice table downstairs for a birthday celebration and we weren't disappointed ...we will be returning again in the near future.
Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, good food with very generous portions, plenty of choice on the menu and specials. Would definitely go there again.
An excellent find. Authentic French Bistro almost on the doorstep. Lovely atmosphere and a small but imaginative menu. I would recommend Le Mistral to anyone
This is the second time we have eaten here and have enjoyed both experiences. The food is excellent and is good value. The staff are helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back.
Excellent service, venue, ambiance, food and wine at reasonable prices! Been several times before all just as good. Guests also enjoyed it to the full.
Good food, good atmosphere, good service. One comment, the toilets could do with a renovation, they looked very tired and spoilt the restaurant. This did not distract from my enjoyment though, but they should be looked at asap?
Food was lovely, service friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable - downstairs in the vault was very cosy and cute. We had an excellent meal.
Great food, lovely setting and friendly service. Good value for money on the set lunch menu and the house white wine is smooth drinking. Definitly going back.
good friendly atmosphere along with attentive staff.... food was wholesome and very tasty and plenty of it. will definitely go back as its great value.
Greeted with a smile and a drink at the bar. The food was absolutely fantastic and was clearly all freshly cooked. Wonderful, friendly service and atmosphere all evening.
