We had a very pleasant time. The wine was very pleasant and the food was very good, plus the staff were very attentive. This all came at a reasonable price.

I have previously had some amazing meals at Le Mistral but unfortunately not this time. The service was virtually non existent, we had to go upstairs to order drinks as they didn't come to us within the first 15 minutes. The waitress was very inattentive and when the food did arrive it was cold and bland. I'm am not surprised that it was almost empty. I hope it reverts back to its old and amazing ways soon and that Sunday was just a blip

A very friendly welcome and lovely food. It was an excellent choice. My need for gluten free food was not at all a problem and I had a good choice of starters and mains.

Good atmosphere and attentive service. Don't be put off by the basement, it has lots of atmosphere. Food was good and a good choice of wine. A little bit of France in Derbyshire.

Family lunchtime meal on New Year's Eve. We were seated downstairs - and we loved the cosy, cavernous atmosphere. The three course set menu lunch was great value and offered a great choice. The food service was a little slow and we were a bit disappointed with some of the dishes. The hake main course was overlooked and chewy. But overall, we enjoyed our special lunch and will certainly return in future.

Good food and friendly service. Being close to the door on a cold day wasn't great so booking online cannot avoid that. Ring and make sure you get a table downstairs if it is cold.

Really loved the food but the atmosphere was not very seasonal. Have been to Le Mistral previously and enjoyed it every time. They have always been able to provide a Gluten Free option.

Great menu and the food is freshly cooked to order. House wine is good at £15 a bottle and the fixed priced menu provides great choices plus the specials board so plenty to choose from. The vaulted ceilings and little nooks n crannies downstairs make for a lovely atmosphere. Love the place!

We were all so impressed with Le Mistral - assiette des olives and croque madame just wonderful. Truly bistro feel - very comfortable spacious eating downstairs - soooooo good - will be back!

Third visit, and always excellent. Really interesting specials board, with surprising twists on old classics (mushroom and blue cheese bread and butter pudding, for a main course? It really worked!) On a Monday night in November, we were almost the only ones there, but the staff were very friendly and I didn't feel like they were rushing us. We'll definitely be back, next time we're in Wirksworth.

We went for a late lunch on Friday afternoon and had a great meal. It is a very small but intimate bistro and the staff were very friendly. The menu isn't too big, which can be overwhelming, and there was a perfect selection of light bites or hearty winter meals for us to choose from. The fixed price lunch menu was great value for money at £11.95 for 2 courses or £13.95 for 3 courses. Would definitely recommend and we will certainly be going back.

Really excellent food in the centre of Wirksworth - we went back for a second evening! House wine very good, and overall a great visit. Only suggestion would be to have longer between courses, especially with rich food!

Normally great but last time they struggled to feed me. I don't eat meat or onions and that seemed to be a problem - first meal arrived loaded with onions despite the usual discussion with waitress (new). Other emergency choices not suitAble as sauces were already made and had onion in them. I ended up with risotto which I've never been a fan of. On my birthday ....

Good French style restaurant and café. The food is generally well prepared and reasonably priced. The whitebait starter was OK, and the hake main course very good, cooked correctly, not overcooked which would have made it dry. Unfortunately the crème brulee was served cold, it really is better hot, or at least warm.

Ok food nothing out of the ordinary. Service was a bit poor. Three meals ordered were all cream sauces which wasnt over obvious from the menu and waitress said nothing about potentially may be a good idea to review. Bit lax

We had a wonderful time there and always do. We asked for a couple of things to be changed on a menu choice and this was readily accepted. All the staff were pleasant and a lovely ayompshere. The food was excellent and so tasty. Thank you Le Mistral.

Lovely food and attention to detail make this restaurant well worth a visit. Their duck confit is delicious. The size of the restaurant is deceptive as there are plenty of tables downstairs.

The food was fab as usual but the price has gone up from £26 to £29 for the 2 mains and a carafe of wine which I think is a bit pricey. Also the atmosphere was spoilt by uncouth people sat next to us burping and being loud. Also the waitress spilt water all down me, but was very apologetic.

We visited Le Mistral, Wirksworth, last Tuesday 18th July. On Tuesday evenings Le Mistral offers a Belgian evening of moules frites/mussels and chips and a choice of Belgian beer at very reasonable prices. We've both chosen this option before and once again we weren't disappointed. We enjoyed a very good meal, reasonably priced that we would thoroughly recommend to any visitor to this restaurant. Friendly staff and a restaurant setting that could almost be in a French village, with food to match. Tony and Mel.

We was staying in Wirksworth for the weekend and was recommended this restaurant by our host and I had also seen reviews separately. I cannot fault any aspect of our experience. The food was wonderful, the service faultless. We was so impressed that we cancelled our arrangement for the following night and asked if we could book in with them once again for the Saturday night. Even though they were fully booked they managed to squeeze us in for another great meal. We will definitely be back when in the area.

The restaurant was pleasant and the staff very helpful. However, the food was very disappointing. The duck and orange salad was a few pieces of duck and segments of orange on a bed of tired rocket...no dressing and very little taste. The "Chicken tarragon with wild mushroom" was a plain piece of grilled chicken with button mushrooms (not wild mushrooms) and cream flavoured with tarragon....a bit tasteless.

Les Misteral is a lovely place however the experience wasn't quite as good a it might have been. As we ate there on a Monday we didn't expect it to be packed but when we arrived we taken down to the basement seating where we were on our own even though there were tables upstairs where there were other guests. The reason given was because we booked. Although every table was available they put us on a table that was bigger than we needed and right next to the clearing station and fridge. I asked to move and this wasn't a problem. The food was very nicely cooked and tasty but for a French themed restaurant the portions were far to big and quite overwhelming. We would go again but probably over a weekend rather than a week day

Enjoyed our meal at a window table, watching Wirksworth go by! The food was very tasty, although I think my fishcakes were salmon and not smoked haddock , as listed on the menu?? Delicious, whatever 😁. Attentive staff, lovely clean premises. Am taking my daughter there next week .

Le Mistral in Wirksworth is my first choice locally if I want to eat out whether its lunch or evening meal. I've never been disappointed and my last visit was no exception. Confit duck salad and tarte au citron both perfect, service friendly and efficient and we were seated upstairs to get the benefit of the sunshine during our lunch which was lovely
