It was our first time at the Wirksworth restaurant and it definitely lived up to the expectations. Another wonderful meal at le mistral!! Great friendly staff and delicious food. Would always recommend it here.
We had great service throughout the evening and we allowed to have a leisurely meal, catching up with our friends. The menu had a lot of choice and was reasonably priced. I would recommended this restaurant.
Great atmosphere, lovely staff. Managed to get a table downstairs where the music was perfect and decor really nice. Food was awesome and very very good pricing.
Food was nothing special. Waitress looking at her mobile regularly and was difficult to grab the staffs attention for the bill due to them yapping.
Good company, good food, lovely ambience, attentive staff (though not in your face). What more could you want. Toilets clean and serviceable but in need of an update, a quirky door sign is not enough.
Great service and food. Would appreciate a wider variety of vegetarian mains. Lovely 2 dine and wine offering for a great £29. House red wine was good.
Indifferent food & service. Much too much chatting going on. Towards the end of the evening one of the waitresses sat at the bar with a cocktail & did her make-up! Food very average. Crepe with mushrooms, spinach & cheese was just that - no sauce. They could easily have adapted the starter mushroom recipe to include a sauce. The crème brulees were an eggytexture with not much crispy topping. My friend's was half an inch less than mine. At £5.50 a time it was not good enough. Fond memories of this place have gone.
good atmosphere - food excellent - service good too... Parking free opposite - recommend booking the table even midweek as it is very popular. lots of traditional french quisine on the menu
Visited with family. Lovely restaurant very atmospheric. Food well presented and tasty. Lots of choice on the menu for vegetarian and pescatarian diets. Excellent vegetarian cassoulet. Staff informative and friendly but not intrusive. All in all a great night out.
The menu was excellent. The food was delicious. We would highly recommend you pay a visit. You probably need to book, especially on a Friday night.
The food was excellent and the service prompt and very polite. First time and will be returning, a gem hidden in Wirksworth, nice atmosphere, perhaps tables too close to each other downstairs
Great food and great service. A perfect place for lunch. Booked to come here again later this week. Not expensive and reasonably priced wine list
Le Mistral - Derbyshire - met the expectations of all of my party of four and we will certinly retun for more! The ambience was excellent as was the food and standard of service. 10/10/

Went to le mistral with two friends who were staying locally We have been many times before and knew it served quality food and we were not disappointed. Friends were impressed by good food and service at an amazing price.
Well priced and interesting selection of food and wines (House White £15 to Chablis at £26) mid week offer of £29 for 2 mains and 500ml of house white was popular. Atmosphere was reasonable bistro with music and subdued lighting with well balanced service providing efficient but relaxed dinning.
Not a great experience. Many things were missing from the menu - no meat, burgers, tart of the day as delivery hadn't arrived. Food was ok but nothing special. Came to order desert and of the four items offered on the lunchtime menu, one was unavailable.
A lovely atmospheric and cosy restaurant. Service is friendly and efficient. A great wine and menu selection supplemented with a fanastic specials board to offer variety each time we visit. Food is delicious. We love it here!
very very nice meal and the staff could not be more helpful as my wife is lactos intollart they made life very easy and sorted a sweet out which is usual a challange
Lovely atmosphere, all staff very helpful and pleasant. My beef bourgingnon was not up to the usual standard as beef was rather tough but overall lovely meal and will be back.
We had a very pleasant time. The wine was very pleasant and the food was very good, plus the staff were very attentive. This all came at a reasonable price.
I have previously had some amazing meals at Le Mistral but unfortunately not this time. The service was virtually non existent, we had to go upstairs to order drinks as they didn't come to us within the first 15 minutes. The waitress was very inattentive and when the food did arrive it was cold and bland. I'm am not surprised that it was almost empty. I hope it reverts back to its old and amazing ways soon and that Sunday was just a blip
Excellent quality food, service and choice. Will return.Very good value for money (lunchtime menu) and the staff were extremely friendly and courteous.Overall a most enjoyable experience was had.
A very friendly welcome and lovely food. It was an excellent choice. My need for gluten free food was not at all a problem and I had a good choice of starters and mains.
Good atmosphere and attentive service. Don't be put off by the basement, it has lots of atmosphere. Food was good and a good choice of wine. A little bit of France in Derbyshire.
Simply incredible, wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others, what you get for the price is seriously value for money, with a lovely chic relaxed atmosphere, topped off with friendly, attentive staff, le mistral is one of the best!
Excellent from start to finish. The quality and presentation of food was superb. Great value for money. The service was welcoming and congenial. Definitely worth a visit.
Really enjoyable experience. Welcoming staff, quirky but nice environment, food fantastic. Would highly recommend. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Looking forward to our next visit. Reasonably priced.
Family lunchtime meal on New Year's Eve. We were seated downstairs - and we loved the cosy, cavernous atmosphere. The three course set menu lunch was great value and offered a great choice. The food service was a little slow and we were a bit disappointed with some of the dishes. The hake main course was overlooked and chewy. But overall, we enjoyed our special lunch and will certainly return in future.
Good range of food available and at reasonable prices with a good wine list to complement the food. Service was good and staff were friendly and helpful.
All was just fine, thank you. All four of us felt that the food was excellent and the service was quietly efficient and pleasant. Overall a good choice of venue
Great menu and the food is freshly cooked to order. House wine is good at £15 a bottle and the fixed priced menu provides great choices plus the specials board so plenty to choose from. The vaulted ceilings and little nooks n crannies downstairs make for a lovely atmosphere. Love the place!
Good food and friendly service. Being close to the door on a cold day wasn't great so booking online cannot avoid that. Ring and make sure you get a table downstairs if it is cold.
Really loved the food but the atmosphere was not very seasonal. Have been to Le Mistral previously and enjoyed it every time. They have always been able to provide a Gluten Free option.
We were all so impressed with Le Mistral - assiette des olives and croque madame just wonderful. Truly bistro feel - very comfortable spacious eating downstairs - soooooo good - will be back!
Lovely food and good service. Lots of choices on the menu. There is a really great atmosphere in this. Restaurant. Very good value for money
Third visit, and always excellent. Really interesting specials board, with surprising twists on old classics (mushroom and blue cheese bread and butter pudding, for a main course? It really worked!) On a Monday night in November, we were almost the only ones there, but the staff were very friendly and I didn't feel like they were rushing us. We'll definitely be back, next time we're in Wirksworth.
I had the ribeye steak and my husband had the seafood pasta, both very tasty and generous portions. Staff were friendly and there was a nice ambience.
Great and good value french themed food. Would definitely recommend and would visit again if happen to be near any of their three restaurant locations.
We went for a late lunch on Friday afternoon and had a great meal. It is a very small but intimate bistro and the staff were very friendly. The menu isn't too big, which can be overwhelming, and there was a perfect selection of light bites or hearty winter meals for us to choose from. The fixed price lunch menu was great value for money at £11.95 for 2 courses or £13.95 for 3 courses. Would definitely recommend and we will certainly be going back.
