Lounge on the Green

My second visit here and was not disappointed the meal was fabulous cooked to perfection. Three of us dined we were only able to manage starter and main course we all ate different items from menu and all was perfect. It would have been nice to try dessert but just no room.

Fabulous as always. Delicious food, excellent service, what more could you want?

Sensational food. Not the first visit and not the last.ade very welcome by James and Hannah. Good food, good wine and good back ground music. Looking forward to going again soon.

The food and the service was fabulous. The staff extremely polite and helpful. The wonderful food was beautifully presented, matched with the description on the menu, was quick and served on hot plates (brilliant, so often wonderful food is served on cold plates which ruins the whole meal). Our only fault, which was not anything to do with the staff or food, was there was a table of very loud people whose voices dominated the whole room. Although slightly annoying we would go back in a heartbeat.

Fabulous as always. Great atmosphere, delicious food ... plus right on our doorstep ... perfect! Highly recommend the steak on the current menu and the Creme brûlée was delicious.

Good food in pleasant surroundings, nothing was too much trouble, staff were welcoming and helpful. You could choose 2 or 3 courses for a fixed price with a small but varied choice within each. All of the 4 different courses we had were delicious. We chose a 2 course meal, but everyone is served with a small amuse bouche which serves as a starter for those with smaller appetites, making a 3 course dinner which left us feeling pleasantly replete, rather than stuffed! We will certainly return.

The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere, nice music in the background. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and it was no issue having a slight change in the menu.

Second visit and can't believe the quality of food and service for such a reasonable price. Fantastic choice of menu and they cater for all dietary requirements.

Lounge on the green has Great food, great service, great atmosphere. You are made to feel welcome from when you arrive to when you leave. Cannot fault it.

Excellent meal and service. There is a friendly atmosphere and we enjoyed the complimentary starter and bread. All the courses were tasty and beautifully presented. We will definitely return.

Superb meal. High end dining experience which far exceeded expectations but not at fine dining prices. Excellent waitresses too .... service with a smile. Will definitely visit again.

Traveling from Nottingham for a birthday weekend away food and service was amazing - no kids menu but changed sizes of the adults mains/starters to kids size.

Delicious food and lovely staff but overpriced for what you got, compared to other local fine dining restaurants. Could probably be a bit more adventurous with the bread or leave it out all together. Nice atmosphere.

The food was excellent, just as I have come to expect from this talented chef. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant has a warm and relaxed atmosphere. We will be back.

Great little restaurant, overall we had a lovely meal for 4. service was exceptionally good with very knowledgeable staff. we will look forward to returning soon.

An enticing menu with lots of interesting ideas to choose from. We were offered sourdough bread and then a seared salmon pre-starter. I had scallops followed by chicken with black pudding, then blackberry baked alaska. My wife had pork cheek with lobster tail, then duck with spinach and dauphinoise potatoes. Just a pity that the restaurant was cold - we both had to keep our jackets on throughout. But not to take away from a very enjoyable meal.

Great food with a good choice to suit everyone. Staff are always very friendly. Great atmosphere. This is our 'local' and we are never disappointed.

Fabulous experience from entering to leaving. My wife’s birthday, James and his team made it very special. Cocktails on arrival, champagne, great wine all served with a smile and amazing food. Special thanks to Hannah who sorted out the fliowers on the table. Lounge on the Green.....is a must go wee gem. Thanks again guys for a wonderful night.

Very nice early evening meal, the food was good, but have eaten better much less expensive, . However, the ambience was nice and the service was very professional.

The meal was okay ...service was somewhat slow, for the price it lacked the wow factor. For the price Davids is better value and better food.

Interesting well presented food at reasonable prices. Good size portions that encourage you to have three courses! 6 of us went and had a fun evening.

Exquisite fine dining in a relaxed environment. Food was excellent and staff were knowledgeable about the dishes. Would highly recommend to others. Can't wait to return.

Absolutely fabulous meal. I would highly recommend to go for an evening meal in Carlisle. I had the duck and it was the tastiest duck I have ever had. We will definitely be going back soon.

Outstanding, really, Carlisle had been crying out for decent food for ages and this place fills the void. My only criticism is that the beer selection leaves a lot to be desired, the shed head IPA was especially bland. If I;'m looking to pick fault, then a bit more sauce would have been nice with the steak but I'm sure if I asked they would've given me some, and the risotto could've been seasoned more but that could be down to personal taste.

Lovely restaurant, great food and service. Poor atmosphere (only us in!). Probably because mid January. Would've liked alternative menu, didn't want 2 courses. Will return.

The inn on the green ticks all boxes . The girls were very attentive on the bar and greeted us as we walked in. The food was served timely and the quality was excellent.

First visit to Lounge on the Green and won't be last. Could not fault anything from ambience to staff and service and the food was delicious. Five in our party we all had turkey dinner and Christmas pudding and we all thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Excellent food , decor very welcoming and staff attentive and professional. The best sticky toffee pudding I have tasted. Our guests said it's th best meal and good sized portions they have ever had and they have travelled the world!
