Mango Thai Tapas - Portswood

Food was absolutely lovely, service was great when we went in and it was quiet - when busy service dropped quite a bit. Food though great.

Food is fantastic and the atmosphere always excellent. Friendly helpful staff who are always accommodating. Have been several times over the last few years and always recommend it to others.

We absolutely love Mango, we’ve been several times & have never been disappointed, the food is fantastic & the atmosphere is brilliant, & the staff work hard & are really friendly!

Go there for all our special occasions !!! Love the food, atmosphere and the soundtrack ...... especially the Mango Breeze. It’s only about 10 minutes drive from home so nice and local.

Warm and cozy interior where friendly staff work hard to please. Extensive menu with plenty of choice for everyone- especially those with dietary restrictions. Food was plentiful and tasted great. Another wonderful evening.

The food was excellent but the service on that particular night, let this place down. People who arrived after us got their order taken before us, then every time we wanted something we had to hunt around for a waiter. My partner actually had to go to the bar and ask for more drinks. The place seemed under staffed. We haf to ask for our bill twice which in total took twenty minutes to get! Shame as we like the place.

Staff were very attentive and friendly. Food was very tasty and good sized portions. Wine was very nice. Very cosy seating but comfortable. Music a bit loud. This was my 4th visit and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Very friendly service, good choice of food on the menu, nice quiet atmosphere and prompt service. All round a lovely night out, would recommend to everyone!

Excellent fare..... very busy and a little slow but well worth the wait. Would not hesitate to recommend Mango to anybody who likes Thai food.

Great food, great service, vibey atmosphere. They have Aspell cider too so a very happy customer here. A little gem is a changing town. We will definitely go back.

Lovely Thai restaurant. The tapas are fantastic. The only thing I would say we are a bit on the top of each other which is a shame. But lovely food.

Really good food, big portion sizes, amazing flavours, excellent smiley service, great choice of good. We went for the sharing platter as we couldn’t decide what to choose and they catered to our table’s requirements. We will definitely be going back to Mango Portswood.

Everyone s food arrived at different times, took a long time to prepare and the taste was quite blunt. Service staff were polite and fast with our drinks.

Wednesday dinner: very happy, attentive staff, lovely food which was all portioned well. The restaurant was moderately busy, and we were very close to the tables next to us, however, we knew this could be the case due to the size of the restaurant so this was not an issue. Lovely evening.

The service was extremely slow and it wasn’t very busy. Starters were quite bland but the mains were a good size portion. Very hot in the restaurant

Service was abit slow but the food quality was amazing. The seating area was cosy but you didn’t feel on top of other diners. The lighting could have been brighter. Will definitely return as the food was so good.

The food is lovely, but the service was appallingly slow. Ordered 3 starters and 4 mains at 7.05, starters arrived about 7.30, 3 mains at 8.30, 4th main 10 minutes later. Waiter apologised, new staff in kitchen was excuse given, and took 4th main off bill. We didn’t dare ask for desserts or extra drinks.....

Mango is a Nice place and nice atmosphere . Food was very good , chef spiced up the food on request although not needed just a matter of taste . friendly staff . Would visit again

The food and ambiance were terrific as was the service. I would recommend this restaurant. We went for a set price menu, gave our preferences and the food kept turning up, it was great!!!

The food in Mango is fantastic, really tasty. The drinks service is very slow. The table we were first offered was right in front of the door (outside temp was -1) so I asked for a different table.

We had the £26 pp sharing menu which was excellent and plentiful. Good cocktails and friendly service too made for a great evening. Thank you

The food was increadibly good!!! They have so many vegan option. And the deserts 😱😱 BEST VEGAN BROWNIE. The service was also very very good and the atmoshpere was nice and chill. Lovely backgroud music

We love Mango and have been many times. The food and cocktails are consistently good, and the Portswood venue is intimate and quirky. We had a very long wait between first and second courses, about 45 minutes I’d say, which was a shame, and the restaurant wasn’t busy, so no real excuse. If this was our first visit it might have put us off, but we are hoping it’s a one off.

Great food and great service! As vegetarians there was plenty of choice and variety and knowledgeable staff to explain options. We will be going again to Mango Portswood!!

The place was nice and staff friendly so have given it a 3. But have had more authentic Thai meals in Southampton. Had the Thai Fish Cakes as a starter, it just lacked “something.” For mains, had a Red Curry, and was shocked it had Bamboo Shoots but I couldn’t taste any lemongrass or kaffir. This is definitely not Thai. Don’t think will be going back.

Great food - freshly cooked, super friendly staff, nice atmosphere. 100% would eat here again! Only downside is parking, but otherwise amazing. Highly recommend it!

Good food, great cocktails and super helpful staff. Overall, a very good dining experience! The only downside is that, as the room is quite small, the noise levels can get loud. On the evening we went there was a group of about eight people who were great, but quite boisterous. Their noise levels, coupled with the music being played over the house PA system, did not make for an atmosphere conducive to a romantic dinner for two!

Good service, nice table upstairs. Good choice of food, liked the tapas starters, especially the vegan options. Curries very tasty, 5 of us and all enjoyed the evening.

Had a lovely evening at mango. We opted for our host to suggest a menu for us which was esxcellent. Great food, friendly service, nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Good work :-)

Took to our table, it was tiny and squeezed in a corner (very tight and uncomfortable). Took 20 mins to place an order for a drink! Then when the food arrived we had cling film in our rice.... nearly went in my mouth! Wasn’t a great experience but the food as always was lovely.

The food and ambience early in the evening - when we went - was excellent as always. We live quite close by and its a joy to go to a restaurant with just the food you love, which is not too large or noisy. We'll be back again soon!

Lovely Lunch for my work leaving do. Great lunch deal of curry, rice and lovely drink (lychee and mint soda was delicious). Lovely and friendly service. Will definitely return.

Lovely decor and attentive staff that were very accommodating of my particular food intolerance. The food itself was what I was expecting, which was good, but for me there is some room to grow in the taste blending and execution to give the wow factor and push the place up to a 6.

Eaten here many times. Lovely atmosphere and outstanding food. The cocktails are great too. Only downside is finding a spot to park can be challenging.

Still the best Thai place in the city. Originals are always theme best. Please never change unless you want to add the Thai sausage back to the menu

Lovely evening meal. Great food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Small, personal restaurant, which isn't too busy on weekdays. Very enjoyable experience - would recommend!

Great night out with friendly and helpful staff. Visited for wife's birthday with family and was not dissapointed. Recommend the cocktails from the bar and all of the food we had was very tasty 😋
