Great place to eat. Fresh food and very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit be it for lunch or like us dinner. Service was very friendly.
The service was friendly and attentive, the restaurant was warm and inviting and the food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long either!
Best meal & service I've had in years! I can't wait to go back. It's a must try. A real hidden gem! Fantastic experience from start to finish.
Housed in one of Edinburgh's old tenement buildings just down the road from the castle, Maxie's is a cosy, quirky bistro with lots of atmosphere. The food is plentiful and tasty, and the service cheerful and quick (though it wasn't busy the night we went). I would go again.
Lovely wee place great food lovely atmosphere. Took my mother for oysters they were absolutely lovely and I am still salivating over my fried Brie and cranberry cannot wait to go back
The service was excellent and the drink on arrival much appreciated. However whilst the food was very nice the portions were a little on the small side. Also our table for six was quite squashed more room would have been better. Overall a nice night. Thank you
Service was very slow! Ordered medium rare rib eye & was raw. Response was "sorry". Starter then main course came out before our actual drinks
Really lovely restaurant very cosy not much choice on the menu although it is a small place and great if you want to try something different staff helpful and attentive
