Busy but welcoming restaurant. Steak excellent .. as they should be be. Great staff. Booking recommended. Would I go back? .. this is my return visit. 😊

Excellent cuts of meat and outstanding lobster. Decent service and they actually acted like they give a damn! A bit on the pricey side for surf and turf but overall experience was excellent.

Great food, great service. A thoroughly enjoyable meal from beginning to end. Friendly waiting staff really made the dining experience memorable. Sharing two puddings meant we didn't have to choose between the tart and the cheesecake!

Food was delicious, very relaxed atmosphere and staff very friendly and helpful. Extremely wet and miserable day oitside, but we thoroughly chilled after beautiful seafood and wine.

We were a mixed aged group of five people. The food mussels scallops steaks were all excellent and the desserts delicious. Friendly helpful and staff.

Had another lovely meal, the steaks were beautifully cooked and the mussels were as good as I remembered, quick, friendly service and a window seat as well.

We had a good meal at the Mussel and Steak Bar. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and the service was excellent. Would I go again? Yes, I would.

Ordered 2 separate options of mussels in pot , the first pot was below par . Gave it a second chance , second pot was up to expectation in terms of freshness , taste and size with lots of shallots. The Picanha Rump , oysters on ice and queen scallops were upto expectation .

We went for the lunch menu and it was fantastic! Warm welcome at the reception and shown to our table. The waiting staff were very attentive and polite. Starter - Haggis Wellington 10/10. Main - 1/2kg mussels with chips 10/10 ( love the mussells in this place and chips are devine ) Dessert - Sticky Toffee Parfait 10/10. This place is excellent, I cannot fault it, Great food at a great price and a great location. 3 Courses and a drink for 2 people £35.

Lovely as always. Food is fantastic here the staff and very friendly and on the ball. Nice atmosphere would recommend this restaurant to everyone and will definitely visit again.

Fantastic return visit to this stylist eatery in the Grassmarket of Edinburgh. Efficient and friendly staff great choice of menus, lunch deals too. Excellent produce served with a modern twist.

Had a great evening meal with a lovely atmosphere and great waiting staff. The seafood was excellent and reasonably priced too! I can't wait to return!

Got a late booking; had oysters & sirloin steak medium rare, was very tasty and the wine was an added bonus! Will def visit again for sure!

Loved it, food was great - lots of steak and mussels - as the name suggests, however the service was brilliant and made the evening all the more memorable!!

This is a special wee restaurant. The food is wonderful, I had a sirloin steak cooked medium rare and it was perfect. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Absolutely superb food that it served to the highest standard. The seafood and steak are at the highest quality. looking forward to visiting again next time I am in Edinburgh

Good food, a bit pricey for what it was. The desert let the other dishes down - sticky toffee pudding you needed a knife to cut....

Great meal with great friends. The view out the window is also great. Staff were friendly and polite. We had steak and it was beautifully cooked.

Fantastic food and wonderful team approach to service. Wait staff was very friendly with awesome suggestions. We ordered the mussel entree with whiskey,bacon and cream sauce for an appetizer and the steak for ou entree. Terrific.

Steak was good and cooked perfectly and the staff were nice but restaurant was crowded for its small size and table beside door was cold.

Table under air con but food good had steak and the sea food platter booked online overall it was a very good meal and we will be back

Fabulous food at great prices and the best service - the oysters are amazing !! I prefer a table upstairs though and hadn't requested this when I booked so remember and ask when you book.

Food, setting and service all very good. Slightly larger soup portion would have been nice but the rest of the meals were very generous and well cooked

Lovely night, brilliant staff and fantastic food. We had starters, mains and desserts, but it just missed that little extra, portion wise, to have us leaving satifiedly full. Other than that, overall it is a place I would definitely recommend. Thank you, again, for a lovely night!

Great little place just off the grass market. We both had what it says on the shop front, mussels and steak and it was delish!! The chips are the best in Edinburgh!! Couldn't fault the service either. Highly recommended.

The food may have been good but I can't comment beachside the service was so bad. I would not willingly choose to go there again.

The service was prompt but somewhat curt, perhaps due to our 9:00 pm reservation time. The feta olive & tomato salad was perfectly dressed & seasoned. Our mussels were very fresh and sweet. I would have preferred more sauce on my Thai chili mussels, our daughter's cream & shallot mussels were also tasty. Husband enjoyed his Rib eye steak & chips very much.

Food was just ok but staff couldn't wait to get us out. Cafe atmosphere..Very noisy table adjacent. Offputting. This was our third visit. Previous times good but staff no longer seem interested in anything but throughput.

Best table of restaurant. Good and fast service. 👍 And excellent food and wine. That was the highlight of our last day in lovely Edinburgh.

Both Mussels and Steak were fantastic, but especially the Steak!!! That was the first time for me to enjoy the meaty but soft and nice meat, thanks!

As always we enjoyed the good value of the lunch deal. The mussels and chips in beef dripping were excellent. Staff were friendly and service was good.

A lovely evening however one of our party ordered the langoustines which were not cooked properly. They were sent back and new ones arrived however some were still not properly cooked. Disappointing but discount was given. Otherwise, could not fault it.
