Good service despite rather gruff waiter even at very busy time and food was all delicious Location is great for festival events Toilets good and clean
Excellent food and very attentive staff. The smell of spices as we entered the restaurant was awesome and the food didn't disappoint. Great location for going onto Festival shows.
The staff were unexperienced. Too pricey for what is offered. Very hot inside no fresh air or vent system no good . Not recommended .
Service was excellent. Food was acceptable we were late for a show and they got the food to us very wuickly indeed.Cobra beer on draught
Excellent food, with a selection of Indian and Nepalese options, Particularly well catered for the vegans in our group, with the (plentiful) options well explained, and very nice indeed. Great service and top notch experience all round.
Outstanding mango chutney! A lovely chance to try a Nepalese twist on Indian food in nice surroundings with friendly staff. Will definitely go again and will recommend it to all my friends.
Freshly prepared tasty food, excellent service & reasonable prices - what's not to like! Interesting Nepalese & Indian menu a cut above the norm. We'll be back👍
Good location and tasty food. We mostly ate from the Nepalese menu and it was a lovely changed from the usual range of curries. Lovely staff too :)
Great place to eat. Staff were really friendly nd helpful and food was delicious. Would definitely go back. Prices were also really reasonable for the location.
The food was excellent and the staff helpful and attentive. The Decor of the restaurant was a bit dated but the overall experience was very good.
Excellent service, buzzy atmosphere even though it wasn't full. Since they serve both Indian and Nepalese food, there were some different things on the menu to try. Food was really good. I'd definitely go back on future visits to Edinburgh.
Great food as usual served on hot plates which are wiped at the table before use . Service is efficient. No longer takes tastecard or gourmet club.
Lovely restaurant, attentive staff in a central location – some of the best food i've ever eaten. Will definitely return when in Edinburgh next. Recommended highly!
Went here not knowing what to expect after reading both very positive and very negative reviews. We were pleased we went. Service was friendly, attentive and good. The Rogan Josh and Chicken Madress were excellent. We will probably go to this restaura again next time we visit Edinburgh.
Great food and great service in a great atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Starters and mains were plentiful but not too much and were very tasty.
The food was lovely and the staff was friendly. It is probably not the cheapest place, but good value for money! Definitely worth a visit!
Great service and great food. Friendly waiters and very tasty food. Nepalese food momos which are dumplings and Himalayan mixed sizzler a mix of meat and prawns in a tasty sauce
Fantastic food. All the food served was of very high quality. The only reason I never gave it full marks is because the service was a bit slow
Food was amazing! Try the prawns in Papaya - I haven't eaten anything better in a long time. Service was good as well so definetely recommended
Food was amazing really lovely first time for Nepalese - lamb tender beautiful flavours- service excellent - great value - really worth a return visit next time we are in Edinburgh
Great food, recommend the Crab Banjara ! The staff are very pleasant. Good service even though rugby was on and it was very busy. Decent prices.
Excellent food and great service despite it being a very busy New Year's Eve when we visited yesterday. Tasty dishes and served really well. would definitely go again.
Lots of options to choose from, made everyone happy. Ideal for large groups, as the dishes are easily shared. The service was fast and nice.
Great service. Good portions and reasonably priced. Great choice for vegetarians with many options. Location is convenient as it is close to many attractions .
First time in this restaurant and it certainly won't be the last. The food was absolutely wonderful, staff very helpful and pleasant. Reasonably priced too. Can't wait to go back!
food was delicious, The service was great and the variety of different options was extendive. Maybe not hot for those who like really hot curries/
The welcome and table seating was very fine. There is a very good menu, well prepared dishes, served efficiently and overall a good dining experience.
Lovely menu with a choice of both Indian and Nepalese grub, food was great. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a rush.
This is a great restaurant and conveniently located in the Old Town. The food is fantastic and the service more than courteous. Try it: you'll love it.
Delicious food, best peshwari nan ever ! Attentive service and excellent value. I would really recommend this restaurant. The menu is varied and food is cooked freshly to order.
The service was good, the people were kind, the meal was delicious and the price was a good value. Will definitely be returning to Namaste Kathmandu.
Table was booked for 7pm, we arrived at 7 sharp and were told "you're late, you can sit here". The table was in the middle of the restaurant's main walkway, which was unpleasant when a bunch of office workers decided to queue around us, shouting and jostling each other. The food was good, but expensive for what it was (£52 for two people; starter & main, sharing rice and naan with a drink each) and the 660ml bottle of Kathmandu beer wasn't chilled. The restroom facility was disgusting. Generally dirty and smelly, reminiscent of a dive bar. I'm not in the habit of leaving bad reviews but this is one dining experience I don't want to repeat.
Great food but very slow service due to there not being enough waiting staff to meet the number of covers. Granted, it was during the Edinburgh Festival but the potential increase in trade should be taken into account
Very good food and service loved garlic chilly. The mo mo is great Nepalese food. Close to Royal mile ideal for meal before night out on day out
Food was lovely but we didn't get the second round if drink we ordered, however it was extremely busy. We would eat here again though.
All the previous reviews made choose this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Fabulous friendly service and terrific food. One of the best. We will definitely return.
We enjoyed good, unhurried service and a selection of great tasting food. Garlic chilli chicken was my favourite! Delivered with a smile during the extremely busy Edinburgh festival period.
Great for a bite before/after a show close to festival spots. Waiting staff friendly and recommended a great veggie dish. Only problem was it got a bit rowdy later on but only to be expected late Friday night.
Food was excellent, full of flavour and just the right size portions. I wouldn't hesitate to go back as there was so many other dishes I wanted to have. Best curry I've had in a long time.
Excellent food, thoroughly enjoyed the nepalese menu, the mo-mo's were delicious! welcoming staff, very friendly and didn't have long to wait for service. Good location easy to get to.
