Everything was fabulous, except there were dogs in the bar near to where we were eating. In our opinion, that's unacceptable.

The food was good (although the sea trout very much looked like farmed salmon to me). However the service was poor. Limited veggie and no alcohol options.

Loved the food and the staff. Rare in their very high quality. Nice selection of drinks, lovely fresh soup that was neither too salty nor too floury, but fresh and very good indeed. Atmosphere would also have been lovely, but for the child on a nearby table having a tablet with cartoons and games on using the internal speaker quite loudly, but that's not the fault of the venue.

Really lovely meal, enjoyed the vegetables which were cooked beautifully,not soft and soggy!

We had a pre dinner drink in the bar before our meal. The menu choice was varied. Our order was taken after a short while. The mains were delicious, desserts were equally as good. Not only did they taste good, but they looked fabulous too. Overall a really good experience and well worth the money. Looking forward to going back soon.

Very nice experience the only thing I would say is I would have liked a few vegetables with my chicken priced at £17.95carrots or broccoli would of been perfect ,croquet potatoes very small pieces of sweetcorn were served with this dish.

Staff were brilliant and very tentative. Food was great and reasonably priced. Would definitely eat here again.

We had Sunday lunch here which was absolutely beautiful. I had the trio of meats and each was cooked perfectly. The pork crackling was spot on too.

Everything was good except a very fatty, full of gristle expensive rib eye steak. Restaurant eventually reduced the price of our bill, only after requesting a reduction.

Staff were excellent as always, very friendly and attentive. We ordered our food, the Sunday roast, which arrived very quickly! Sadly, whilst it looked great and tasted ok, it was cold and the roast potatoes were obviously 'warm ups'. I think we were so surprised as we always make a point of going here when we're in Northumberland that we just ate it, paid and left immediately whereas we would normally have stayed for a few drinks. With hindsight we should have complained at the time to give them a chance to rectify but we didn't so that's our own fault. Don't know if it was because Newcastle were in the cup final or not!. Sure we'll still go back next time as they're normally fab.

The service was slightly chaotic as it was difficult to get attention and because 3 different people were seeing to us, despite it not being at all busy, but the food was excellent.

Lovely Sunday Lunch with family. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was great. We'll definitely return. Only slight issue is the parking in the village, but this isn't down to the restaurant.

Another delicious meal tonight, the meatless moussaka was so tasty and filling, beef noodles excellent, fish and chips off the scale, and vegan burger the best we’ve ever tasted, big shout to our waiter who was superb. Thank you. See you again next week!

Lovely food & fast service! Reasonable prices Worth a visit

We had to wait quite a while for our table to be ready. Also there was a long wait to be served at the bar. And we had to ask for our food order to be taken. However the overall experience was good. The staff were friendly. They just seemed very busy this having a detrimental effect on service. They food was exceptionally and very good value for money. We will definitely come back

The staff were absolutely terrific from start to finish each and every one of them. Food was amazing for all including the dogs fish rice and broccoli.

Food was fantastic and atmosphere good although there was a dog barking more or less continuously for 15 minutes. When I booked online I said we were bringing our dog with us. However, there was a bit of a wait when we arrived and we were told we should have rang to say we would have a dog with us. The staff brought him water straight away and he loved his pig strips. We would definitely return.

We’d been asked to recommend a good place to eat for 4 of us and we knew we could trust The Northumberland Arms to give us a good experience. It was outstanding from the warm welcome to the cheerful farewell and everything in between. The pace of the meal was perfect with excellent knowledgeable service. The menu made it hard to choose from - so many of the choices sounded delicious. All of us very much enjoyed what we had - really excellently cooked dishes, beautifully presented and ideal portion sizes. I was delighted to finally taste the crème brûlée which had always been sold out on previous visits - it was delicious! We really couldn’t have been fed and looked after better. Can’t wait to visit again.
