Attentive reception. First time there and made to feel welcome and comfortable. Loved the space; one doesn't feel crowded and you can hear yourself speak and the other person too without shouting; bliss! Food to die for, though pudding needed attention, but I spoke to someone about it and they tell me by the time I come again it will be sorted. A lovely place. Staff friendly and attentive without being around too much. As a fish eating vegetarian, I found the menu great; good choices. Straight vegetarians would also find this fine - and the dishes are different to the usual fare labelled v. Dishes a good size. Good selection of wines. Will be going again soon.
We had a most enjoyable lunch in the elegant dining room at Ognisko. The food was very good and the service was friendly and discreet - a place we would like to return to. Bendt Staunskjær
Lovely decor. Lovely relaxed atmosphere inside and looks very pleasant for eating outside too (took a peek!). Charming and friendly staff. Lovely food. Will not hesitate in visiting again.
Interesting, delicious food served in a relaxed, semi formal setting. We don't eat out very often, and really enjoyed a special meal out. Excellent! Jane
Very good and professional service, nice atmosphere. The best chicken lever I have ever tested! Highly recommended. Thank you!
I love this restaurant. The food is amazing, the atmosphere relaxed, buzzing, but not took noisy, great service too.
Very nice atmosphere, not too busy or loud, just right. Good service and great food and drinks! we will definitely come again in the near future.
Wonderful food in an elegant slightly old world Kensington room, at prices that are distinctly mid-market for food that's a cut above. Venison and duck were outstanding, as were the Placka (potato pancakes).
Always a pleasure to dine there.food and service excellent and friendly atmosphere
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ognisko. The restaurant room was beautiful, the atmosphere was vibrant, the service was excellent and, most of all, the food was exquisite. One of the best meals we've had for quite a while.
The menu is so unusual , it really offers a new experience even to the most educated palate. The service is always excellent but beware of the Cold War cocktail - it is truly delicious, but dangerous!
Attractive venue, excellent food, generous portions, obliging and efficient staff.
Good choice, reasonable value for area, very friendly and efficient service.
To be honest I was expecting it to be... well more Polish than it was!
Mistake to order two courses after a Prom. Service was fine to start off with but deteriorated. One of the starters was wrong but it took some time for the staff to realise the customer is always right.
Excellent food, relaxing atmosphere and good service, even though the restaurant was very busy. Looking forward to going again.
I hadn't been to the Ognisko for years, and was delighted with the evening. The food was excellent, I had the beetroot soup, followed by the roast leg of goose and the apple fitters with ice cream, while some excellent Bordeaux was on offer as a bin end. My friends tried various dishes, and we were all impressed. The staff are a friendly bunch, and ;made us welcome, all in all a very good evening out. Recommended.
Having now visited the restaurant four times since its refurbishment last year, I am delighted by the improvement in the WCs. As before, the staff are pleasant and helpful and the menu interesting. The vodka selection is as impressive as ever. For some strange reason, the food still seems to arrive at the table less than hot - though never inedibly cold. The dining room has lost its character in being bereft of the paintings/portraits so that it now could be anywhere. Adrian Clark
Charming and courteous staff, lovely surroundings. Excessive wait for food, which was very mixed. Vegetables were delicious, barszczt delicious. But I am sorry to say I had trouble swallowing my salt beef. My cousin's rabbit however was delicious.
As always, the food at the restaurant was excellent as was the service. The surroundings are conducive to conversation as we have found other restaurants noisy with loud music playing. We always book into the Polish Hearth Club Restaurant prior to attending a function in town. Our last visit was before we attended the play upstairs in the functions room, Moliere's 'The Misanthrope' so we mixed a fine meal and wine with an excellent night's entertainment. Really lovely venue, great lunch, great service, perfect location. It's nice to be able to dine at such a great place round the corner from work.
Nice setting and helful waiters and waitresses. Uneven food, pork crackling not great but roast duck very tender. Pricing just right for average food quality. Please make food as good as the setting!
Excellent venue and service. Food - 'adequate'. Price - 'lofty'
Very good, as ever. A lovely room and a real favourite with us.
This restaurant has recently been refurbished quite pleasantly and has a nice continental ambience although the dimness of the lighting makes it quite hard to read either the menu or the bill. The bill indeed contained two unwelcome surprises - the addition of a 12.5% service charge which we hadn't spotted on the menu and a charge for wine which we had not ordered. The mistake was rectified when we pointed it out, however, and the food was good and the staff friendly.
Very nice restaurant, nice atmosphere. Tasty food and good service. Will definitely be back to introduce delicious Polish cuisine to my friends :)
Great ambience, food, service - everything. Cannot fault it. A great evening, even the house wines were excellent.
A warm open welcome was indicative of what was to come. Service and attentiveness equal to the best restaurants coupled with an easy going informal manner. Food and drinks totally hit the mark and at 40 a head a real steal.
Just so many good dishes to eat at this restaurant. And the fact that you can have so many of them as starter or main portions adds to the choice. Scrumptious! And the vodka is to die for - tried 2 types and loads more to go. Yippee!.
