Yet again, we didn’t have a great experience, but it has been a couple of years and we fancied a change so thought we would try PatPong again. We were running late due to motorway delaya, so I called ahead to advise we could be c. 15m late and the lady that answered the phone was rude. We were going for a quick bite to eat at a quiet time 6:30 and when the restaurant would be and was empty. When we arrived we were shown our table and then immediately a member of bar staff descended upon us asking for drinks order - we asked for tap water and the waiter rolled his eyes. He then came back and asked again for drinks orders. We only had a main and rice each and the waitress said, ‘no starters?’ and we politely said no thank you. Our mains arrived less one bowl of rice and we queried this and they said, you want two rice? Yes please! We asked for the bill 4 times and when it arrived they had added 3 beers to our bill, but we only had water. We corrected them and they said ‘oh sorry, we are so busy’. PatPong have always been pushy on their drinks and service and quite often add extra items accidentally to the bill, you have to double check. We knew we hadn’t had 3 beers, as we were both on medication, hence asking for water only! It is such a shame that they continue this attitude as the restaurant has a great feel and the food is excellent, just the experience is spoiled by the service, which is just as important to us. This is constructive criticism and our feeling of our experience, not everyone would agree so they have to experience it for themselves to make their own assessment.

Beautifully cooked delicious food with excellent service. We have been a customer for many years and the food is always very good. I personally would prefer that the 2 seater tables were not so close to others. Maybe on quieter days some tables could be rearranged to accommodate more privacy for couples.

Well behaved staff & nice tasty food served in time.

Staff were nice. Quality of the food was not so great. It was not as flavoursome as it used to be. Very bland. I did not enjoy it. Tables are far too close together, I was listening to the other dinners conversation, quite unintentionally.

It was a great experience at Pat Pong for Mother's Day. The service was great and so was the food. Would highly recommend to others.

We had a wonderful night again at Pat Pong. The food, wine and service was excellent as always. We like to start with a Pat Pong Platter, which is a mix starters for two. The Thai papaya salad is the best I have tasted, and as for the Chicken Pad Thai.... Yummy! They dress in traditional outfits which look stunning! the music is played at the perfect volume so no problem having a chat. The right music really helps the restaurant’s atmosphere. Choosing the right restaurant music helps convey brand image, can influence the dining mood and can even affect a diner's perception of the food. This is a very authentic Thai restaurant which is right opposite Chingford bus station. We love it and have been visiting weekly for many years.

Attentive traditionally dressed waitresses, tasty food, decent sized portions and reasonably priced. Had two courses and alcoholic drink each for a total of £50. Would recommend

Service was a bit slow - didn’t get a drink for a while. Food was fine. Had to go to the counter to get the bill after asking. Room for improvement but a decent Thai.

The Food was fantastic, staff were friendly and there was a nice buzz about the restaurant, would definitely go back soon. Plenty of bars nearby to get started with or to enjoy after dinner.

We love patpong and have for years! Great food never short on flavour. It's always busy and service is good. I'd recommend the tom yam soup to start.

Great food at a very reasonable price. Fast and efficient service. Good atmosphere. Can recommend the Pad Thai and the duck. Sweet and sour was also a hit

Sunday evening - not very busy but have been here other times and you really need to book. Food always good, service - very attentive.

Nice place to sit the food is great very relaxing the price is reasonable for 4 people with two meal n drink average 110 pound

I was a little disappointed with the food - quite bland although that could be said to be down to my choice of dishes of course. However, the food was luke warm as if it had been cooked and left some time before being served. Overall I was not that impressed.

wow this restaurent food was amazing i had sea bass with chile prawn phad thai mixes starters .. prawn salad ... and a very nice bottle of white wine .. service was excellent .. value for money great could not faultpat pongs its a must try ...

Superb food and excellent service on a busy Saturday night. Attentive, friendly staff and a great ambience. This restaurant never fails to hit the spot.

All of our party enjoyed the food. My only slight concern is the cuisine has been Westernised for our British palettes. Also the beer was on the pricey side.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was also great. We will definitely come again and recommend it to others.

The food and atmosphere/restaurant is brilliant. Service wasn't bad but a bit disorganised, waiting staff didn't seem to know who was responsible for what. Being asked for our drinks and dessert orders three times each is distracting to conversation. Altogether lovely place though.

We had a very enjoyable evening in patpong. Amazing thai cuisine good size portions, service very efficient & a great atmosphere. Will return again soon.

Very enjoyable: very tasty food, delightful service, nice decoration and atmosphere. We have been several times and each time it has been busy but the service is still quick and attentive and (unlike a lot of restaurants in the area) it doesn't get too noisy to have a conversation.

The food was lovely as always however the staff seemed to be a bit on the rude side and the service was slow the food took forever to come out

Consistently excellent food and service. Prices have been creeping up and some previous 'favourite's' on the menu have disappeared. But overall a great experience is guaranteed.
