Lovely restaurant. Best Thai food I have had in London. Good decor and comfortable seating, with attentive service. On the pricey side, but you get what you pay for!
This is an excellent restaurant, with quality food which never disappoints. Without doubt, this restaurant is the best thing that's happened in Hampstead for years!
Restaurant has terrible acoustics so is extremely loud. Service very slow - took ages to order, get food, or get wine refilled. And the food is very, very expensive. Very tasty though.
Great place with excellent food. The only quibble was our waiter, Bier, who was quite surly and came across as condescending. Would go back again.
So much choice on the menu - the food was delicious, and even though the restaurant was exceptionally busy, the service was excellent. Will definitely be returning and recommending.
Fantastic food with great ambience. Staffs are helpful and good choice of dishes. Went in for lunch menu which offered good value for money. Definitely recommend.
Food was very good. Service good. We stayed on the upper dining area and I have to say that it was too noisy. But I will definitely come back.
We had heard that the food at Patara was excellent, and we were not disappointed. However, the service was lacking. For the amount of money we were paying for the meal, we were expecting the service to match. This was not the case. The staff seemed uninterested and generally not caring about providing a friendly, top notch service. My husband ordered a glass of dessert wine with our pudding. When it did not arrive with the desserts we mentioned this to a passing waiter, who did not seem to know what to do. Five minutes later we asked again. Finally after reminding the staff three times the wine came, after we had already finished the desserts and were ready to go. Most restaurants at this stage would have not charged the customer. Patara did!! We will not readily be going back.
Good food overall but expensive. Starters and mains were somewhat cold unfortunately. The black cod was the weakest dish I recommend the curry sea bass however.
Food was delicious, especially the duck rolls and coconut beef, all well presented. The décor fresh and stylish & the dining experience made even better by attentive service.
Fantastic Thai Food and great service, you have got to try this restaurant!! Great Cocktails too! I cannot recommend it enough. enjoy enjoy enjoy enjoy
Great restaurant, amazing food and fantastic ambience. Definitely recommend it and will be coming back. The set menu is exquisit and great quantity for more than 2 people. Desserts are fresh and great as well as the ice cream. Great restaurant to have a family meal.
Great food and service! I really liked their cocktails. Regarding the food, the starter platter is to die for and the green curry chicken and pad thai were excellent. We will return.
The food was really good, however -it's was extremely late ( more than an hour for the main courses) -it was the wrong dishes, so more waiting to get the right ones - And on top of that in the end they added more items in the bill that were not ours Although the staff apologized (nothing great though just the basic) they did not seem to be particularly concerned with the issues neither offered any form of compensation, thus we decided not to pay the service charge and explain why ( for the above reasons.....)
Food mediocre. Service erratic. Ridiculously expensive. Is this authentic Thai food? Everything was extraordinarily sweet. Second visit and will not be returning a third time.
Excellent food and environment. Will return to taste more dishes on the menu as ordered one main only. Next time I want to try more starters.
I went for my birthday. It was very good food and the service was great. I do think it was overpriced and is a bit overrated.
Food was good However service was terrible Drinks menu given when seated no food menu for 20 minutes When ordering food the waitress was pushing all sorts of dishes generally the most expensive dishes on the menu ( I am more than familiar with Thai food ) Won't be rushing back even though the food was good , service was unacceptably pushy for a restaurant of this standard
Foods were very nice and we had a lovely time there. Have a try pat Thai lobster! I'm sure you like it . We're looking forward to going there again soon!
Terrific food and lovely staff. We had a birthday lunch and everyone thought their food was delicious. Must also had that the dining chairs were very comfortable - important for the older moments of our party.
We would return because the food was very good indeed, much better than many Thai restaurants we know. The staff were very welcoming and patient, although we ended up wondering if the place was understaffed. However, we asked for a quiet table which would have been possible upstairs; instead we were seated the very noisy downstairs room. Service was incredibly slow. Our food was warm enough to eat; the table next to ours had to send theirs back because it arrived cold.
The service was excellent and the food was good. We went with a large group and was accommodate in a private room. . . .
Booked a tanker for four well in advance. On arrival a rather unfriendly woman 'greeted' is and sat us at a table in the entrance despite several other tables being free (the whole evening) in obviously nicer parts of the restaurant. We were moved with great reluctance. The food and dinning experience thereafter was generally good (occasionally outstanding) and we had a nice evening. I would certainly go back but not in any great rush..
I was hugely impressed by the efficient but friendly service. The Thai dishes are beautifully executed. I think that the general ambience is elegant without being intimidatingly exclusive.
Very good, overall, but the double gin and vodkas seemed on the weak side. They did change them though Enjoyed and intend to go back.
Normally very good but today a bit dry and did not do it for us - sad we loved it so much, maybe just a bad day .
Three course business lunch was good value at £19.95, with a good selection of dishes. Service was efficient and friendly. Pleasant decor and central location in Hampstead 'village'.
Food tasted amazing and presentation was beautiful. But more importantly we can not fault the service we received. Brilliant from start to finish! I had a very pleased husband!
Great food and atmosphere - maybe a little dark but smart decor. £95 for two which was quite pricy as we only had two beers and two starters/two main courses and one side. £8.95 for a side of green beans with garlic and chilli is way over the top! The food is good though - would recommend the lime and chilli seabass!
Ridiculously amazing. Just a wonderful place and people. Had the best time just now . Servers were exceptional and food was to die for . I would come back tomorrow!
We had a lovely meal at the newly opened Patara Hampstead. Food was great - flavours were spot on! Service was good. I would definitely recommend although it's not the cheapest Thai food but definitely worth a visit
Good food and service. Not bad value for money. Staff were friendly and efficient . blah blah blah . . . .. . . . .
Excellent food and service.. the set menu is very good value. Portion size just right..Some traditional thai and some innovative dishes..I would highly recommend this restaurant
Very good but quite noisy, we tried to move but all around noisy, it's was difficult to hear each other during our conversations. However, we still enjoyed our food.
The service was great - very attentive and fast. The food was also delicious! I would recommend the platter for a starter. The atmosphere was lovely too.
Good quality, up-market Thai food. Well designed restaurant and friendly service. We enjoyed the lamb chop with Thai spices and the slow roast beef in coconut milk.
nice food, ambience. Functional service. Meal for 2 (+ bottle of wine @ £40, 2 courses) was £150 - for me this seemed way overpriced. I would think twice about returning because of this.
Good food and excellent service. They even had a dedicated gluten free menu, which was very useful for my friend, who is gluten intolerant. A good addition to the Hampstead dining scene.
Ridiculously overpriced, the lobster pad Thai was awful. The lobster was overlooked, tough and impossible to cut through. The staff were over eager to the point of irritation. We were about to order a fresh mint tea when we saw it was £4.75 for fresh mint!!! So we went home and had our own. Not recommended.
I went to eat at Patara with a friend. The food was very good though I found my signature starter dish (Dumplings of caramelised chicken and peanut) too sweet. The main course of beef cheeks panang was delicious but certainly not made for big appetites. Overall, we thought that the food was good but overpriced (with sides of vegetables for £10).
