Went for the pre-Theatre menu. Good and varied choice, and service was such that we never felt worried about being late for the show. Will definitely do this again!

Was a very busy evening due to the theatre. service of drinks were very good and taking of order. However we had to wait a considerable time for our mains. We weren’t able to look at the sweet menu. Food was very good.

Went for lunch for our Anniversary and was amazing, nothing was too much trouble and were really welcomed in there by the wonderful staff, so polite and happy and the food was out of this world seriously! Have already booked for Valentines night in advance.

We visited in Saturday night as a party of 5 before a theatre performance. It was bustly and there was a good atmosphere. The seating was very comfortable (a round booth seat) and the service very good (apart from them forgetting one lot of drinks we ordered). We ordered off the pre theatre menu which was excellent value and the food was really, really good. The menu choice was very good and as a vegetarian I had several options which is sometimes not the case. All 5 of us throughly enjoyed the 3 courses we had and said it was a shame we lived so far away as we would be regulars otherwise!

The staff were lovely and accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious. It’s also really nicely decorated inside and makes you feel like you’re much further from home than you are!

Food was Great!! Pre theatre menu .. !! We sat upstairs, would have preferred to sit downstairs, we did get forgotten!!

This is our second visit to Portofino. Once last year, and now again this year for our anniversary. The staff have gone above and beyond for us, making our night very special. The service was lightning quick, every cocktail that we had was delicious - especially the espresso martinis! This is a highly recommended restaurant and we are so grateful for the friendly service. Can’t wait to go again!

Walked out without ordering, place was half full of very loud people just sitting there drinking , on the way in was barged past by adelivery driver on his way out, wanted a meal at a nice upper-class style restaurant, couldn't even hear my wife across the table, so not classy ,can't comment on the food as didn't bother to stay and order. It was reminiscent of being in a pub bar. Won't ever bother again.

Excellent restaurant the food was absolutely delicious, piping hot, easily one of the best Italian restaurants for miles. Service was excellent, staff and owner very attentive to their customers to ensure you aren’t waiting around for table service. Very very quickly served food, it was outstanding and high quality. Came for an evening meal with a last minute reservation.

Needed a place to eat before a concert at The Victoria Hall. Searched online and this app appeared. Wasn’t sure of where to eat and Portofino popped up. Visited for the first time. Was very impressed! The restaurant from the outside you could arguably say it isn’t as attractive as the inside but don’t let this affect your decision to eat here. It is literally a two minute walk from The Victoria Hall so VERY convenient for theatre visits. Opens at 17:30 but was open to customers before this time so no need to wait outside. The food was so tasty and fresh. It came fast with attentive service and a great environment, even lighting the candle at the table as soon as sat down. Warm, nicely presented and almost cosy interior. Sat in a booth which could be more intimate and comfortable than a table mid-floor. Would certainly recommend this place and should I visit Stoke in the future, will definitely eat here again! Thanks for a great meal to start what was a great evening!
