We were lucky enough to go at a very quite time which was so relaxing. staff were excellent. Food was superb. Highly recommend.
A thank you meal for a friend. Problems over alcohol licence so we’re able to bring our own. We didn’t know but they went out in the rain to get our wine. Fabulous steak, brilliant attentive service. Will definitely be going back. A bit noisy as very busy.

Food was lovely. REALLY lovely. There were only 2 things that were disappointing... The first was that although I had reserved a table, we were told the only tables left were the three in the front... We chose the one in the corner but it turns out this wasn't a good choice for a quiet date. The ice bucket was on the bar right behind my head. Every time the barman went to use the ice, he would take a big scoop then throw the scoop back into the ice. This was incredibly noisy and we get getting showered with ice. I made him aware of this and he was very apologetic and offered to move us. We didn't want to move as we were settled. May I suggest a perspex screen guard to protect diners from the noise and ice, OR maybe moving the ice bucket to the other side where no-one is sitting? The other issue was the staff, although very pleasant, were hovering... which makes you feel rushed. In fact, my starters plate was cleared before my partner had even finished eating - she was not happy. As I said at the beginning, these were the only two things, if this can be sorted we would happily give more stars :)
Booked at table for 8pm. When arriving, the guy seemed a little stressed. There wasn’t a table ready for us which was fine. We was quite happy to get a drink from the bar. Again this took a while as the guy behind the bar agained seemed a bit stressed. We didn’t get seated till around 8:50pm. Once sat we waited around 15 min to get served. No one came so I had to shout someone. When I did get someone’s attention the girl was running around trying to find someone to serve us. Once we had ordered all was ok. The food came not too long after. My partner had the ribeye and I had the fillet. My partners rib eye was delicious! Melted in your mouth. My fillet on the other hand was quite chewy even though I’d asked for it medium rare. I was a little disappointed with the sides. Garlic bread was of the frozen sort along with the chips... overall it was ok. Anyway, once finished we asked for the bill...the wrong bill was given and this had happened to the table next to us previously. I was a little frustrated by this point. Eventually got given the right bill and our drinks were not on it. I didn’t say anything. I don’t know if they did this purposely because of the wait for the table but no one had said our drinks were complimentary...I was thinking that if it was my business and all the staff were getting the bills wrong I wouldn’t be best pleased. Overall experience was pretty poor. I don’t blame the staff, the management should take point to relieve the pressure where needed...it potentially could be good.
I had a meal at Rancho Fareham last night and i won't be rushing back to be honest.. it took a very long time to make our food order we only ordered main meals so nothing to complicated to write down but my steak came to me medium rare when i asked for medium well done.. it looked nice but i could only eat around the edges.. they took it back from me to re cook but i didn't want it so they said it would be took off the bill, which it didn't so if we didn't look we would of been charged... lot of other small issues which was annoying and not very good services, so we asked to not pay the service charge which is on there automatically.. so i left very hungry and disappointed.
Very friendly staff but as it was unlimited rib night, it was very busy, probably too busy for the number of staff on shift. It took 40mins for the order to come out, rib refreshes involved lots of hand waving to get attention, and had to go and find a waitress to get some drinks. Shame really as we probably would have had another couple of drink rounds had service been more attentive - this is not a negative against the staff as they seemed run ragged. We had 3 Unlimited rib meals and two sirloin steaks. Steaks were cooked perfectly and a good size but the ribs were a little dry and in some cases burnt. Another night with more staff or less customers and I would rate it higher.
The food was good and reasonably priced, the wine was OK if a little overpriced, when we first went it had just opened and we were a little disappointed with the ambience as it felt crowded and very noisy when all tables are occupied. Unless you have a table in the foyer and put up with the constant in/out, as well as being in a 'shop window' the main area of the restaurant is really the only place to sit. This is still cramped and very noisy when fully occupied, the more the noise level rises the more people try to compete to be heard, the increased levels lead to staff rushing around in the limited space between tables. All of this makes the dining experience less than enjoyable when trying to converse with your dinner friends and we couldn't wait to get out of there. The place needs to move to bigger premises and we will not be going again because I do not expect to pay restaurant prices for fast food ambience.
We were kept waiting a long time for our meal and had to comment on it to the staff. They were quite accepting of this . Some of the items for the chef's special salad were not available so they gave us as best they could and took the price off the bill. The wine we asked for was not available so they gave us a better quality as the same price - it was very good. The meal however was extremely good as were the staff. It did not put us off going again, in fact can't wait for an occasion to repeat.
